I think there are some great examples of how NOT to conduct yourself here on AG. It’s a pure learning experience for me at times..

I can assure everyone usually those being talked about are just a quick-witted and usually can give as good as what was dished out. The question is do you want to address the "Twit" remark, or be the bigger person?

They need to bring back dueling I think. Better than the cowardly drive-by, punk A$$ mentality of today.

Being raised Catholic, I've learned, first hand, the hypocrisy of asking for forgiveness, being absolved for your sins, only to have a clean slate to go out and rack up the sins for next Saturday to confess away so you can have Communion on Sunday with a clean conscious.

I'm here to learn about audio, share it and enjoy it with others and have that sense of community. 

At times, it's necessary to do the role of parenting and call out the miscreants who mean to turn this site into their personal playground. This is a community site and no one's safe space to release their spite and hate filled thoughts that they've developed and nurtured on some other dark and silly place. 

Personally, I think the mods should have a tighter, broken windows policy.

The easy answer is I love music but I’m not sure that’s really true. In my opinion music generally sucks. Amazon music has over 75 million tracks and if there were 10 thousand that I would listen to more than once I’d be really surprised. I’m audiophile because I love the performance. I first thought it would be the musician but that’s not true either. It’s really rare to enjoy a musician’s whole album much less the whole catalog. So it’s the performance I love. When I do come across that great performance I strive to become intimate with it as I can. How the voice trails off or those slightest changes in presentation. The details separate good from great and the equipment brings out the details.

I’m and audiophile because of intimacy. I become emotionally attached to the performance. I’m driven to get closer to better understand the intent and then revel in it. I’m also a techy so being here feeds both parts

I come for the virtue signaling.

I am here to learn and help others if I can. I don't judge another's audiophile journey---I try not to disrespect anyone even if I think they're being a jerk or too opinionated. There are some on here that seem to have a chip on their shoulders or just like to stir up trouble. I try to avoid the drama if I can. Hoping everyone has a healthy and happy new year.

I am here to learn what I don't know yet about various aspects of audiophilia. By example I have gotten huge help from some posters on this site about looking into digital vs. being stuck on analog. It is a big mountain to climb, but I am glad I am taking the trek.

I’m here to learn, which I have. And, to one day formulate a useful, non-shamed post related to my pursuit of the perfect (for me) Japanese integrated amplifier.

Dave - I am good with dueling, never did upgrade the Hammerli to the electronic trigger, so i am good….without batteries… can we do 50 meters ?  That tends to sort out the hacks….but IF ya want i can do 5 in 4 with the Walther OSP..short…

Here for the info - audiophile info.  Just a somewhat isolated audiophile that enjoys good AUDIO info wherever he can get it.  All opinions welcome while I search for that elusive sound on a budget. 

Please leave your politics at the door.  This is not the place.  A separate category for current events would be nice so I can avoid it like the plague.  

I’m here because I love music and want to reproduce the bang I get out of hearing it live.

Do I get a kick out of reading about all the theories and audio advice? Sure.

Am I concerned about this newly discovered occasional ringing in my ear? Sure.

Surprisingly, one can sieve a rather broad education on all things audio 'midst the repartee, rants 'n raves, 'you can go with This, or you can stand with That', or the outbursts of things I try to avoid here.

I joined the site because for as long as I can remember I have had an interest in audio, and when Joined everyone I knew thought that the crappy Apple Ear Buds that came with the iPod were so astounding.

I come to learn.
