Does other Audiogon members' opinion carry any weight for you ? I don't rely in one specific site to make equipment decisions. It takes me hours if not days of researching the internet to get enough various opinions before I can pull the trigger. I don't usually rely on anyone specific, any specific review or ...
DAC 'Scam' Vid This is beyond my comprehension because I am a fool, I have a fuse upgrade collection.
Technics SL-1300G Turntable issues I just checked your system and you seem totally committed to vinyl. It is very easy to check a platter for proper level. Just use an eye bubble type level and move it around the platter and check that the bubble stays dead center in the eye. Then ...
Technics SL-1300G Turntable issues Luckily the VPI Classic can handle heavy center weight and outer ring. I use them for every record I play so they are pretty flat. If you truly want hifi results, this vinyl thing can be tedious. Tone arms / cartridges alignments and specially the...
Technics SL-1300G Turntable issues On a quality TT like my VPI Classic the level of the base is identical to the one of the platter. But on lesser quality TTs like the Pioneer DX1000, or Pro-ject debut, I had to make legs adjustments to get the platter leveled.
Technics SL-1300G Turntable issues @faustuss Sorry you don't understand the fact that the platter is the part that really needs to be leveled. Of course you start with the base but if the platter is not leveled after leveling the base, you need to adjust the feet until you get th...
DDC or Better Streamer? @audiostick My point was it is best to match equipment in a similar price range because a 10k amp with 3k sources is not gonna be able to perform as a 10k amp, rather it will put out 3k signals. Of course I'm generalizing. By example all my comp...
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3? The CDT2 and CDT3 both have Philips mechanism, but different models. Could that be the issue?
Room Treatment: A Primer @mahgister I always like reading about your knowledge of resonators. Being a novice in the matter, I chose to invest in an AD-POWR Sorcer x4 harmonic resonator and I very much enjoy the extra liveliness it provides.
DDC or Better Streamer? With the price range of your equipment, I would lean to trying a DDC with I2s first. The Gustard U18 is only $500 and will definitely improve your bluesound streamer. To upgrade the streamer would require north of 5k to make big improvements imo.
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3? Bummer, sorry to hear that. Email Alvin at Vinshine. One of the most helpful audio dealer out there. I do love my cdt2-mk3 so much, I have always resisted the temptation of the cdt3-mk3 upgrade. Your experience may be very helpful to others who ma...
Room Treatment: A Primer The exact best ratio of absorption vs diffusion is totally dependent on the room size AND construction. Under my house of stereo system, I show pics of what exactly works best for it. It's just not possible to make general recommendations even tho... |
