Do you grade your albums? My entire vinyl collection (over 2k) is cataloged and graded as follows: - Year of album - Chronological number of album in artist discography - Artist country of origin - Country of specific pressing - Chronological number of pressing - Qu...
Has it all been worth it? It has been in my case. The end result has well exceeded the endless search for the best sound to my ears in the best possible listening environment. It's obviously not for everyone. The commitment has to be real to get there. It's a great way to ...
Has anyone tried these products? Never saw this Jim, but I would be a bit weary if indeed it absorbs 95% of the sound as they claim. It would seriously deaden the room imo.
Sound proofing floor A 6" to 8" concrete floor is a very unusually thick amount of concrete! However, if that is correct, your sound may find its way down through the walls instead. I find it hard to believe it would go through 8" of concrete. The only sound that woul...
Looking for a pre-built recessed audio rack Don't know anything about a recessed audio rack, but it's awesome you are designing a listening room. Mine was a 5 year project in my head and it physically came together in 6 months over 5 years ago. Never a regret. Enjoy the journey.
What benefit does a DDC really do for a DAC? The general consensus is it really shines when wanting to turn a USB feed into a I2s connection to the dac. It does wonders for me. Innuos zenith mk3 USB to DDC U18 I2s to Audio Mirror Tubadour V. The veil being lifted saying is no exaggeration in...
Does USB cable length make a diference? Sls833 is correct, 1.5 meter is ideal for USB.
Why did you purchase the equipment you have and what do you like most about it? Came across a good deal on hifishark I couldn't pass up. Used Audience front row phono cable. Easily the most transformative cable I ever experienced.
Tampa Audio Show 2025 It always goes back to it's all about the room, regardless of the price of the equipment. Short of trying equipment in your own listening room, a lot of time will be wasted in evaluating equipment in other rooms, regardless of the audio show.
Qobuz and Chandos It happens with some albums, about one every 30 in my case. Not sure about classical titles, but when an album in my Qobuz library can no longer be found, I usually can find it on Tidal. My best guess is the owner of the rights to the record(s) no...
Rythmik Audio on The Intellectual People Podcast I am lucky to live near Austin, so I was able to pick up my dual subs directly from his warehouse and got to meet the owner Brian and got all the info I needed. Couldn't be happier with the service and my F-12s. That was years ago. Got introduced ...
Treating the ceiling and floor, who else has had great results? They perform real well if you use them over large areas. By example, I have 28 sq ft on ceiling, 8 sq ft on each back sidewalls and 15 sq ft on back wall. Of course the 6" deep wooden diffusers I have at both first reflection points diffuse in ano...
Treating the ceiling and floor, who else has had great results? @jeffbij Been there too, over damping the room. Biggest fix was diffusers at the two first reflection points on sidewalls. Also using strictly diffusers on ceiling. You can see multiple pics on my house of stereo system.
Do you listen to your music with your eyes open or closed or a combination of both? Always open, like at a concert. Isn't it what most audiophiles strive for, reproducing the sound of a live concert in their homes. Who closes their eyes at a concert? I don't.
The Audio Science Review (ASR) approach to reviewing wines. After attempting to read this discussion, I got a hangover now. |
