Why isn’t more detail always better?
I think that too much detail in music results from the same issues that make some 4K movies hard to watch. Ultra-high resolution video sometimes reveals all the flaws in the sets and makeup, that would normally be invisible on a standard blu-ray ...
How Many Times Do You Have To Listen To Understand A Piece Of Music?
I know it's not fair, but I am quite judgmental when listening to new music. If I don't want to listen to the entire song, then it has almost zero chance of getting a second chance.
Room is way too bright.
@lovehifi22  "I keep hearing about this"first point of reflection." What exactly is that?" Did you do any online research at all? There is a ton of information on this subject at your fingertips, yet you seem completely ignorant of even the bas...

Top 10 Live Albums
This is not a ranking based on which is the best. It is just the order in which they entered my almost 70yo brain. 1.  "Live at the Fillmore East" by The Allman Brothers Band (1970). Simply the best. 2. "Live Johnny Winter And" by Johnny Winter ...
What % Of Your System Are Your Cables?
Although I am retired, I refuse to do a deep dive into the actual ratio, but my best guess would be a maximum of around 10%.
Whole Lotta Led
Saw them twice. Pure magic.
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
@barts  "So it goes."
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
An oldie but goody. Why they haven't changed their designs at some point, can only be explained by a company wide lack of any design sense. https://tektondesign.com/product/full-range-speakers/flagship/1812-model-v12/#color
Moving from a stereo amp to a dual mono set up
I feel your pain. I would suggest you watch the original 1948 version of the movie, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House", starring Cary Grant and Myra Loy. Suffice to say, you will know exactly how Cary feels about how simple projects can turn...
Tinnitus
Was hoping this article contained some sort of concrete research that might help we tinnitus sufferers, but all it is, is a collection of "this MIGHT help", "research MAY find" and "someday this MAY happen". If wishes were horses, beggars would r...
TL Electronics
https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/1gzql1l/tlelectronics_legit_or_scam/ I don't know what happened to your dealings with TL Electronics, but this is exactly why I don't deal with any company that doesn't have a retail history and verifi...
I need a little help from a UK, German, Greek or Israel member.
"the website only takes messages from the UK Germany, Israel and Greece." I'm sorry, but despite the fact that the website looks legit, one has to at least wonder why any website that's main function is to sell stuff, would only allow you to cont...
Speaker cables with good timbre
@squared80  Not sure why people like you feel it's your goal in life to dump on people that make statements that you don't agree with. A brief look at your interactions on this site show that you have never started a discussion. All you do is pos...
Yet another Sub Question
"I have one subwoofer and it took weeks to find that perfect spot, but with two subwoofers, it definitely makes positioning much easier." I have 4 subs in a distributed bass array and positioning almost doesn't matter.
