Tubes4HiFi SP12 preamp. Set up with a passive buffer. If I ever want to turn into an active preamp can be easily modified. Finally the solution to all the volume controls in my system.
What do you have on order RIGHT NOW.
I'm checking the tracking app a few times a day for where my MHDT Orchid DAC is up to between Taiwan and Australia. And I have super tweeter diaphragms on the way for my IMF RSPM Mark IV's.
What have you got coming. From where to where. Share the excitement or heartache.

Ready for big upgrade to my downstairs system. Getting GolderEar Triton Reference speakers and a Cary SLP-05 preamp. Speakers due in today, preamp tomorrow. Rest of system is: two Primaluna Dialogue 7 monoblock amplifiers, Marantz TT-15 turntable, Sumiko Blackbird cartridge, Musical Fidelity M6 vinyl phono preamp, Cambridge CXC cd transport, Denafrips Ares II DAC. Finally getting my system where I want it. |
Cheating a little bit here...will be ordering an Esoteric K-07xd or a Esoteric K-05xd when they are released at the end of this year, which has been confirmed. Been debating on getting a new transport and DAC-- yet what I hear about the K-03xd and K-01xd, which are out of my price range-- the K-07xd or K-05xd are going to be killers for the price. Of course they include USB and coax inputs to use the DAC. So a phenomenal transport and DAC in one. |
I am building 2 new systems in my new house. One for the upstairs living room area and one for the downstairs living area. 1. I have Dutch & Dutch 8C's and a technics turntable on order for upstairs living room. Already received the SimAudio Moon 390. Combination of Synergistic Research cables and Analysis plus power cables. 2. This is the big system downstairs. Covers 2 channel and home theater. On order Boulder 2160 amp, Boulder 2110 pre, MSB Reference DAC, Sonus Faber Il Cremonese EX3ME limited edition speakers(50 pairs worldwide), Sonus Faber VOX center channel, Mcintosh MX170, Mcintosh MC255 amp, Mcintosh MI254 amp and Sonus Faber side channels and ATMOS speakers. All cabled in Synergistic Research cables. This has been a lot of fun to put together, but the ordering and getting items is very slow. I started this in December and may be completed by the end of August. The same goes for furniture. Easy to order, but many months before delivery. |
Wow, I can’t compete with @birdymaker But have been waiting for several things: Hopefully coming next week, Atma-Sphere MP-1 to replace my Atma MP-3. Coming from Ralph at Atma. Long wait still for Lyra Atlas cartridge from Audioquest. Maybe another couple of months. Two SRA Ohio Class XL 1 platforms. One for my TT and one for my preamp. A LDA power supply turning 110v into 220v and 60hz into 50hz for my Woodsong Garrard 301. A custom made media stand from a local woodworker that should arrive next week. And finally, a number of LPs from Music Direct from pressing plants that have been delayed because of Covid! |
I am not competing with anyone. I got very lucky with my retirement a 1 1/2 ago. We made some money and my wife and I decided to spend a bit of it. New house near grandson. New autos(I own a 1/2 ton Chevy truck). New audio/video. Our old audio stuff is over 20 years old. Up to this point never had the money to upgrade/replace. |
I also have some wire coming that I will use to make IC cables I am curious to try. I will be getting NOS Western Electric 22 awg solid core, tinned, soft annealed, copper wire in cotton, that already comes twisted and surrounded by a copper braid shield. Should make interconnect construction simple. I will twist a 22 awg or larger wire around the assembly for ground, connect the shield at the source end only, cover the whole thing with my favorite techflex, and terminate with some new Vampire XLR connectors I have here. I used to use only Furutech 601/602 connectors but since those are pricy I now mostly use Vampire’s premium XLR Connectors for about $20 each. I have enough 601/602s left here that I can always switch over to those if I find the ideal sounding cables. |
Not certain if it's relevant, but I have a Carlos Santana purse on order (yes, he's selling purses on TV "purchase" infomercials). If my wife likes it we will order one for her as well. I'm not making this up kinda/sorta. https://www.hsn.com/shop/carlos-by-carlos-santana-handbags-and-wallets-for-women/fa0402-20151 DeKay |
My two most recent orders were replacement tweeter diaphragm for a series one large heil air motion transformer and some replacement foam for an electrovoice interface c what a difference both made to each speaker system especially the foam replacement it affected the sound way more than i thought it would. |
I just scored a Pioneer DV-59AVi DVD Player on eBay for $115.00 plus shipping. The seller (100% positive feedback) says it has very little use and plays perfectly. It's non-blue-ray, so I'll be using it to play regular DVDs, and then I may have it modified and use it as a CD player in the main audio system. We'll see what tech tells me. Frank |
have some Focal Kanta No2s on way, but looooong delays these days for those. Going to end up probably being roughly 3 months before I finally get them. Also been waiting over 2 1/2 months for GIK Acoustic wall treatments. Luckily those are supposed to arrive tomorrow. Long delays due to COVID lockdowns and supply chain issues. |

I forgot to try my 50th LS50’s with the CODA CSiB integrated before I sold it. However, I now am driving the LS50 with the KRELL K-300i. It is a bigger sound, with more bass, than any of the prior amps I had on the LS50. Which included some Bryton 7B-SST but that was years ago and I may not have been allowed able to crank it then. @zlone What is providing volume for the CODA #8? |
