VPI to What
I have owned my HW40 for almost two years and would not part ways with it. Since I am 75 it is probably my last TT.
The receiver was my intro to HiFi! What say you?
Mine was a Sansui receiver bought in the 60's but I have no idea which model. I kept that thing for many years and used it in my office until the sometime in the 80's.
Going Tubing
Since I went with separates several years ago it has been a McIntosh C2700 (tubes) and MC611's (SS). It was like they were made for each other. I have been very pleased withe them.

Help with XLR ICs.
I use Morrow cables throughout my system and highly recommend them. If you decide to upgrade, they will take your old ones in trade.

I have this problem with watches. I seem to be ok with audio equipment.
Did I screw up??? C2700 vs c49
I also have a C2700 feeding MC611s. They seem like they were made for each other. Fabulous.
To loom or not to loom?
All of my interconnects and speaker cables are Morrow Cable. All of my power cables are Furutech components that I put together myself. Of course I have nothing to compare them against but I am pleased with what I get from my system.

I guess yours has the internal reservoir. I would guess it can be replaced. Mine has the external reservoir and it is just a plastic jug. Wonderful machine though
Which turntable? Pro-Ject or VPI?
VPI and I am biased since I have the HW40 direct drive.

I had a McIntosh system back in the 80's and then got divorced and drifted away from audio. Now retired I got back into audio about 5 years ago and invested in all McIntosh C2700,  MC611's, MP1100, MCD600, XR100, MPC1500. My turntable is VPI. I co...
Power cable Advice...
With that budget, you could build your own and have very adequate PC's.
Bananas rule, spades drool. End of discussion.
After seeing this thread, I went and inspected my spade connections on the speakers and amps. My amps are McIntosh and they provide a handy wrench. None of my terminals were loose after two years. McIntosh uses very good terminals and I have very ...
Starting a Classical Vinyl Music Collection
In my experience, clicks and pops are just in some albums and you cannot get rid of them. I have a Klaudio record cleaner. It does a great job but cannot get every click or pop out of an album. I use it on every album I buy whether new or used. FW...
