Anybody ever dealt with Safe and Sound audio

I am getting interested in a DAC upgrade.   Has anyone dealt with Safe and Sound audio?

Thanks

Haven’t been to their location but have had multiple excellent transactions with them.

overall, they are reliable. My friend had to deal with a salesmen who didn't let him return a faulty equipment. Probably it was just a bad day.

Good guys to deal with for sure !!   If someone couldn't return something faulty there i would imagine it was a car audio product , and they'd probably ask you to deal with the mfg.  Not out of norm for car audio .   They do a lot of custom car and bike audio.   I'd be very surprised if they didn't stand behind something .  Especially home audio.

Excellent showroom. I purchased a transport from them in the fall.   I bought a transport over the phone and was going to have it shipped.  Then I said hold on, I want to check out the next model up.  I ended up going there  buying that.

Ask for Aaron.

it was a pair of speakers, faulty from day one. Eventually it was resolved.

I purchased a Parasound Halo integrated amp back in 2016.  I believe they are in Chicopee, MA. I got a great price and they were very welcoming.  When I was there, the sound room was undergoing a renovation.  I came very close to buying a pair of speakers from them last Summer.  They are very legit.

What dac were you looking at ?  Depend8ng on budget lots of very good ones out there without the store msrkup.

Bought an open box NAD phono preamp from them a few years ago. Very positive experience

Have bought several products from them always honest and fast shipping great communication.thier open box and sale price have been reasonable.enjoy the music.

Haven’t bought from them, but I’ve talked with a member of their team. He seemed smart and friendly, not pushy at all.  I liked that.

My experience buying $5K floor standers from them shipped coast to coast maybe 7-8 years ago was 100% positive.

In some cases (mine) they buy up manufacturers/distributors remaining inventory for discontinued products. My $5K speakers cost me $2500 and I sold them after 5 years of ownership for $1500.

Tough deal to beat.

I got my first BlueSound Node from them about 5 years ago.

It was "open box".

It was perfect, like new, but at considerable savings.

They were great to deal with.

Legit and super helpful.  They helped troubleshoot a problem that turned out to not be their issue.

Yes, bought open box AVR and they ended up sending me a new one. Would highly recommend and buy from again.

Yes I’ve dealt with them and been to their location in Chicopee, MA.  They dealt with me fairly including a return within 30 days because I didn’t like the equipment.  They have a couple of showrooms.  You can schedule time and the equipment you want to audition and go and listen.  Recommend.

Absolutely! Have dealt with them a few times. Both in person and internet. Aaron is awesome! These guys are 100% legit and as customer focused as any out there! Not only do they back whatever they’re offering, they go the extra mile…I’m in NH so I’ve been to

their location a few times. They just moved and opened a warehouse, very impressive showroom and warehouse..

I visited their store to audition a pair of Focal speakers.  They had the room set up and were very helpful.  Listened carefully to what I needed and there was no pressured sales tactics.

Another positive experience here. Purchased Powernode, Node and a pair of Dynaudio Xeo speakers from them. Listed as open box at a considerable savings. All arrived looking like new and have been used for almost 5 years with zero problems.

Highly recommend Safe and Sound.

Purchased an open box Musical Fidelity A1 from them

about a year ago. They're super dealers. A new sealed amp arrived

Very quickly, my being in NH. Highly recommended.

After 41 years in business and as you can see by the stellar reviews above and BBB rating of A+ I don't think they will be changing their name anytime soon.

From my personal experience with them, I feel more comfortable dealing with them than just about anyone.

Yes!  I've been there many times over the years, both at their old and new location, which is fabulous!  They're only a 40-minute drive from me.  The new location is quite large, has a huge selection of quality components on display at just about every price point and 3 very well-designed dedicated sound rooms.  It's an audiophile playpen and the staff are extremely patient & accommodating!  I brought my audiophile brother-in-law there last year when he was visiting from SC.  He was curious because he had made a very satisfactory online purchase from them many years ago and wanted to see the place.  The minute we walked through the door, his face said: "kid in a candy shop" and stayed that way long after we left.  He was blown away!  Aaron is aces!  Don't hesitate!

Until this thread I had never heard of  the company.  The open box room is yet another reason I am considering adding an alcohol interlock onto my laptop ;)

Thanks to everyone for their info.

I spoke with Mike and Aaron on the phone, they will have a K-01XD SE for me on Friday.  I'll take my K-01XS to compare, and my Aurender for auditioning tracks.

Now that I am in VT gone are the days when I could drop in to Sound by Singer at lunchtime and replicate my system and try new components!

I'm wearing my "Safe and Sound Audio" tee shirt as I type this.  They graciously threw it in when I ordered an open box Marantz SR8015 AVR (that was essentially brand new) which is the guts of my home theater system.  It's been a great product, I got it for a great price, and they were great people to deal with.  I highly recommend them, FWIW.

I made the journey, Mike & Aaron had set up their listening room ready for me.  We installed the new K-01XD SE and my K-01XS and my Aurender.

After an hour of intense critical listening I was totally convinced of the value of the upgrade.

Somehow there is an extra layer of sound revealed, especially in deep bass passages, the very high treble was sweeter and the mid range even more luscious.  Straight out of the box.  4FS & M1 settings - to be studied further!

This is remarkable as the K-01XS is, itself, a first class DAC.

I brought the new box home and JUST managed to get it from the car trunk to my equipment "rack".  I hooked it up and have been playing music all afternoon.

Interestingly (perhaps) midway through the second piece I realized that though I had connected the SRS FS725 clock  - I had not set the DAC to sync.  The change was immediately noticeable, spatially and tonally.

As an aside the SRS FS725 uses the same rubidium physics package that Esoteric used in the G-01, though now moved to an OCXO.  Somewhat strange since, typically, a rubidium generator is more precise than an OCXO.  But they do seem to be moving "in-house" and a rubidium physics package is rather specialized.  And, FYI, the SRS FS725 is about 25% of the cost of the Esoteric G-01 part and is US made.  The G-05x is now "only" about $5k I think, maybe part of the reason to switch to OCXO.

Now, I'm wondering should i move to an Aurender N10 with external master clock from my N100?

Apologies for the ramble, my excitement is showing!

Excellent interactions with them. If you are really lucky the put a KitKat in the box with your gear.

Have purchased twice from them with success. No need to hesitate from my perspective. Good Luck with the new Gear.

I purchased a pair of JBL 4312G Ghost Edition speakers from them, was willing to do it online, but I gave them a call cuz I had a question. Sales rep answered my question so I said I would make my purchase online, he stated he could do it for me, I said sure go ahead. So after the price & free shipping were calculated he asked the state I lived in, I told him, he sez how come I don't see state sales tax included, I said, I don't know. He proceeds to complete my purchase even tho the sales tax was never included. Why? heck I don't have a clue, but I thought now that's a sweet deal. Everything else about the purchase was golden, beautiful speaker's, shipping was great. no complaint's. would definitely do business with them again.

I had speaker delivered from them that was damaged by Fed ex (happens too frequently!). They took care of it right away, and sent me a new speaker.
