Gain level on a REL sub
+1 on the Rythmik F12G.  I have one (one) myself and it's a great sub for music.  I have a dual system connected to it (home theater plus a 2.1 music system) and it excels in both applications.  I have no problem getting superbly musical, tight ba...
Anybody ever dealt with Safe and Sound audio
I'm wearing my "Safe and Sound Audio" tee shirt as I type this.  They graciously threw it in when I ordered an open box Marantz SR8015 AVR (that was essentially brand new) which is the guts of my home theater system.  It's been a great product, I ...
Oh no, say it ain't so.
...there are plenty of ill informed people on various audio forums, that seriously mimic the points brought up in this article. Likely so.  However, make no mistake, there are also plenty of highly informed people on various forums who don't "m...
Shipping costs- WTF
You think it’s bad NOW? Wait to till they privatize the USPS and introduce the profit motive into THAT operation! lmfao
Is it the gear or the ears?
I felt moved to share it in this forum, mostly for what I hope brings a little humor to this often overly way too serious “boys club”  The Audiophile. No worries, brother.  As you have witnessed, some folks take themselves (let alone this hobby...
WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
It's harder to get the image and tonality of a singer correct to the ear than make a lasagna taste decent. Who's ear....? Thus my earlier point.
MissingCDs and records
For me it’s nostalgic, it’s a ritual that takes me back to a simpler life.  "Nostalgia" was the first word that came to my mind after reading the OP.  +1
NEW Tekton Design Speakers - The Bonnevilles
Sorry, can't seem to move past the word "monstrosity".
WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
One of the biggest mysteries in the audiophile community, at least to me, has always been why so many folks seem to forget (or willfully ignore) that we all hear and process sound differently.   I really don't think it's much more complicated than...
Is it the gear or the ears?
Is it the gear or the ears? Yes! Kidding aside, this is a timely thread for me.  I recently replaced my beloved Magnepan MMGs because, after several years of having to deal with an open floor plan (meaning my right speaker has zero containment...
Favorite scream in rock?
And the winner iiiiiiiiissssssssssssssssssss............. Roger Daltrey, "Won’t Get Fooled Again".
SVS SUB BETTER WITH LOW PASS FILTER OFF
Moonwatcher was correct.
Looking for a new Subwoofer
I never understood this Rhythmik infatuation I read about from time to time here. I heard one once, and it was just ok. What model did you hear, and what kind of gear was feeding it?  How was it tuned?  WAS it tuned?  They are highly adjustable...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
+1 for the Rythmik F12G (paper cone + servo control). Integrates very well with my MMGs.
Power amplifier longevity… thoughts?
I have an Onix & Soap I purchased in 1987 and a Mac MC250 c. 1980 that work and sound perfectly fine. I'm about in the same boat.  My MMGs are fed by a B&K EX-442 Sonata w/Toshiba cans that is early 90s ('90 - '93, not sure which year)....
