Vinyl playback - lack of bass? You have a great system there. You do NOT need a new TT and cartridge. Ignore any suggestion to that. I would recommend you double check your VTA and your tracking force. Also, maybe experiment with settings on your phono pre amp. I have noti...
Anybody ever dealt with Safe and Sound audio I visited their store to audition a pair of Focal speakers. They had the room set up and were very helpful. Listened carefully to what I needed and there was no pressured sales tactics.
Seeking a Tube preamplifier Consider BAT VK-80. Balanced. Line stage only. It might be a little outside the budget you mentioned but it has the characteristics you described. I use mine in front of a D’Agostino S350. Amazing soundstage and it really helps a powerful SS ...
Im going to regret my cable question I use Rocket 44 with banana plugs in my second system upstairs. McIntosh MSA5500 to KEF LS 50 Meta. They sound great. Crisp. Clear. Good bass. No harshness. If you’re using AQ in the rest of your system the 44’s should do great.
A life sentence!!! Easy. My Wilson Audio WATT Puppies.

Amp for the new Watt Puppy speakers I have the new WP and they are amazing. You’re going to love them. I bought a D’Agostino S350 to go with them and I’m very happy with how they work together. I’m using McIntosh C2800 preamp which I already had. Again, sounds very good but I thi...
power cable tryout High fidelity cables has me wondering..... need suggestions now I recently had Duncan Taylor of YG Acoustics and the HiFi Podcast build me a 20 amp power cable for my D’Agostino power amp. I was floored by the improvement in almost all aspects of sound. Especially the noise floor. His cables range from $150...
Amp Stands - Wood or Stone I made my own out of a slab of live edge black walnut. I put Isoacoustic feet on it for vibration mitigation. It’s supporting a D’Agostino S350 and looks amazing.
The Highest - Suprema I had the pleasure of hearing the exact same system last week too. Paragon did a great job setting them up. I was there early and had the room to myself. I was able to request a number of familiar songs to get a sense. I will say it was a fantas...
Have you noticed as your system improves? Occasionally I like to listen loudly to certain pieces. It adds another dimension to the presentation. That being said, loudly for me is peak decibels of 90-95. Mostly I listen at 75-80 and hear everything just fine. I want to preserve my hear... |
