I’ll rephrase the original question slightly. The artists I can listen to their whole catalog, and listen to day after day. (also based on what is in my library):
Talking Heads
The Byrds
J.S. Bach
Next tier: (may need a break between - not quite day after day)
Dire Strits
Pat Metheny
Leo Kottke
Ry Cooder
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
|
|
From the question I assume you mean the ones I spin the most, so these are my current top 20:
- Boz Scaggs
- Elvis Costello
- Burt Bacharach
- Burt Bacharach and Daniel Tashian - Blue Umbrella Recordings
- Chet Baker
- Bill Evans
- Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays
- The Allman Brothers
- Michael McDonald (with & without the Doobie Bros)
- Pink Floyd
- Jackson Browne
- Jimi Hendrix
- Beck
- Paul Simon
- Tears for Fears
- Yes
- Shostakovich
- Mahler
- Ralph Vaughan-Williams
- Mozart
As one of my best friends says 'too much music, too little time' and for my extra picks Nick Drake, Jeff Beck, John Coltrane, Stan Getz, John Martyn and many more......

As bad as Lizzy Hale wants to (and it is her utmost desire) she cannot carry Bruce’s jock-strap.
|
Don't over look Lizzy Hale as one of todays hardest hitting vocals. She can pound it out!

@skyscraper #1 Band Maid
Have followed them for a while. Incredible hard driving sound. Love it. THIS makes me want to turn it up louder!!
Also listen to Zepperella, a Zepplin tribute band. Great guitar work from the grand master of rock, Jimmy Page. 'Whole lotta love' these women do an incredible job.

Band-Maid, easily the best band in the world right now. I’m a refugee from the sixties and love the Stones, but Band Maid is coming in a close second of late. They’re a great live group. Catch any of their official live performances on Youtube and you’ll be amazed. Try their performances of "Domination", "Play", "Hate" and many others, I thought rock was good as dead, but now turn on Youtube to see and hear Band-Maid every day. Haven’t done that since playing the Rolling Stones albums in ’69 and ’70 soon as getting home from high school. Give yourself a well deserved treat in your old age, check Band-Maid out and thank me later. They've an astronomically high number of views world wide on You Tube and a rabid base of fans of all ages.

The oldr stuff of:
Genesis
Pink Floyd
Jethro Tull
Yes
CSNY, and much of their solo stuff
Dire Straits (selective)
Steely Dan (used to think they were disco)
The Dead (and dead musicians in general)
but I do evolve...
Wilco
Billy Strings
Steve Hackett , Mark Knipfler (not much evolution there)
Mary Chapin Carpenter
Lana Del Ray
Buckethead
Tons of one offs of new music, but the albums don't hold me like the old stuff.
There is a ton of great music and well recorded music out there now.
