Big Jazz Band Music with Great Sound
I should have mention the Seatbelts, especially the Cowboy Bebop records. Available as Japan Pressings.
Big Jazz Band Music with Great Sound
There are sooo many swing and big band artists out there in the used records bins. Like, the Dorsey Brothers, Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman (the Live At Radio City is an awesome album-- Gene Krupa on drums), it just goes on and on. ...
How long should high quality speakers last?
My Krix Euphonics were purchased in the mid to late 80's, they were demonstrators from a shop that was closing. The surrounds are butyl type material, not foam so no degradation yet.. For a period in the mid 90's I drove them with a pair of Carver...
Has it all been worth it?
For me it has always been music first. My hardware is the best that I can fit into my budget without affecting my media purchases (vinyl, CD, cassette) or performances. I've been buying records since I was in grade school, and I just turned 70. My...

Unipivot tone arms
My thinking is that Uni Pivot Arms addressed an issue with bearing manufacturing tolerances, materials, and quality control.  I think the bearing industry has caught up, and perhaps surpassed some of the Uni Pivot Arms out there (I have a couple o...
The best opening act you've ever seen & heard?
Mental As Anything completely stole the show from U 2 on their American small venue introduction tour at The Rainbow in Denver. Same venue, Fabulous Thunderbirds (original Jimmy Ray line up) were so dominating I can't remember who they opened for

NOS   New Old Stock, usually from old inventory from out of business retailers. Boxes can show significant shelf wear.
3k budget for Turntable and Phono Noob- do I need external power supplies?
Save some money for the record collection. You can only listen to DSOTM a certain number of times before your friends stop coming by, your significant other  finds some other place to be significant, your family will shun you, the dog will run awa...
Favorite Cover Album
"Quiet About It" a tribute to Jesse Winchester.   But if you meant best album cover......Frank Zappa "Ship Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch"-- hands down.

Replace tubes yearly?
What I might do instead of REPLACE every year is to ROLL every year. I have a low power SET in the bedroom system who's tubes may outlive me. I've collected some used and new replacement tubes, and as it happens, intend to roll power tubes today.
Where do I go from here?
Get the Dual TT if you want to. I have a Dual 721 in the stable and it is a fine turntable, not my best but convenient and adequate for what I ask of it. There are times when the semi auto function comes in handy. The OM 2 Red can be upgraded with...
Tergikleen or AIVS formula 15?
My set up is similar but without an ultrasound. Over the past 50 years I have gone to the less chemicals that touch my vinyl the better. I use Tergikleen (20 drops per gallon) (or Photoflow) in a SpinMaster, too. Whenever I buy New brushes for the...
