Does it have to sound good for you to like it?
Charlie Parker can be rough to listen to on many poorly recorded outings. But he is so phenomenal you can't avoid appreciating and enjoying his playing even on the worst recorded records.  My latest favorite rockers, Band-Maid (from Japan) have s...
Would you move to a bigger house if you could just to have a better listening room ?
Inna, took care of that business thirty-four yeas ago. Well worth it and have enough surrounding acreage to not bother neighbors with the sound of music. What a joy every day. Mike
Help me spend $100,000 on a new system
Maxwave, I’m still in the considering options phase and have not sold my house as of yet. I’ve been seriously considering becoming an expatriate, except that moving all my stuff to another country and dealing with buying a home, visas and the like...

I don't get it...Exile on main Street-Blue
I’ve always felt "Let It Bleed" was the Stones greatest album and easily the best Rock and Roll album of all time. Only thing that could have made it better was to have had the original "Honky Tonk Woman" on it instead of that lame "Country Honk" ...
Should Amps be plugged into a power conditioner?
Interesting thread. I have a Shunyata Denali power conditioner and have had an Luxman L-507ux MK2 integrated amp plugged into it since purchase. I’ve had the same performance described by jsalemo277 above. Having never tried plugging the amp into ...

Annoying newbie CD/SACD player question
I agree with mahler123 on the Marantz SA8005 CD/SACD player tending to roll off some of the high end. Like him, I had a SA8005 also. I didn’t notice the roll off so much until upgrading to a Marantz KI Ruby CD/SACD player, which clearly  delivered...
Advice needed on MC cartridges
Tommy I did purchase the Fatboy and a Lyra Kleos cartridge at the same time. It's still nice to not have to fool around with the Unipivot's propensity to move about so much while placing it on a record. Since I installed both on my VPI Classic 2 s...

Vacuum under your floor standing speakers once in a while. It's amazing how many spiders can live and breed under there.
Revopod vs IsoAcoustics Gaia 1's
What’s the price differential between the Isoacoustic Gaias, Townsend Podium 3's and the Revopods? Also significant may be the appearance and large footprint of the Townsends. Either factor may be significant determinants for anyone.

mdalton, I'm looking forward to checking out your friends store next time I'm down that way.  lancelock- thanks for the offer to check out your system. That would be fun if I drive up to the DC area to check out some new equipment.
Help me spend $100,000 on a new system
hsounds, Trouble with the room decor is that I have mostly Federal style furnishings (mostly repros of an early American, roughly 1790-1820 style, for anyone not familiar) that doesn’t lend itself to what you are describing. How would you tell if...

laoman, as you pointed out I would appreciate if in replies if anyone would primarily address the questions originally posted, like most of you have. That would be most helpful and will keep this thread on track. Thanks for mentioning this laoman....
