Ozzie Ozbourne is Dead
I saw Randy Rhoads last show with Ozzy.  I was attending the University of Tennessee when Ozzy played the Knoxville Coliseum on Tuesday, March 18, 1982, on the "Diary Of A Madman Tour".  I was right in front of the stage.  I came back to my dorm a...
Local pickup for speakers - should I let the buyer in the house or use the the garage?
@devinplombier -- Sorry about your child.  I hope they are ok.  As for pulling in my situation, I was smart enough to know the odds, and 3 vs 1 was not in my favor -- especially with the angles I faced (back to a car and 1 on each side and tbe thi...
Local pickup for speakers - should I let the buyer in the house or use the the garage?
"There you have it, average ordinary retirees more paranoid than a homeless tweeker at the end of a four day binge."   Well, @devinplombier, this retiree knows the difference between a "tweaker" and a "tweeker".  In addition, this retiree had th...
I got to get me some of this tiny vinyl.
P. T. Barnum was WAY ahead of his time....
Help Requested Regarding Adcom GFA-555; Audio Research D-111; Maggie MG-IIIA
Thank you.  I was certain he was running the Adcom's as mono blocks, and suspected the D-111 was being used for running the highs / midst in some sort of bi-amped mode (if that's the right phrase).   I thought I had read a typo when researching ...
Validation
+2 Million @2psyop   The need for Validation -- the ultimate downfall of Gen Z, Gen Alpha's and later Millennials who have been raised on "Likes" and "Clicks".  Take validation away from them and many of them have mental and social breakdowns --...
Vinyl that is impossible to find
Prices for vinyl nowadays are just like the prices for older gear that was pure junk 40 years ago -- sellers on Facebook and EBay slap the word "vintage" on it and think that is worth an extra 80% to the price.   I keep hoping I live long enough...
And a Happy 4th to all!
@immatthewj -- No, Matthew.  Just another member tired of every post turning into a childish political bashing sideshow and feeling sorry for what admin.  has to put up with just about every day.  Enjoy the 4th with a 5th.
And a Happy 4th to all!
All right Forum Members, Admin have given this thread a warning and a CHANCE to avoid the dreaded "Removed By Mods".  Grow up, keep the political bulls**t out of it, and enjoy a hot dog and a beer.  Blow something up if you want to...just not this...
A Low Cost Pleasant Sounding Used CD Player?
Another vote for the Cambridge Audio CXC transport.  I bought an new Open Box unit about a year ago, best $400 I've spent on audio in years.  Like you, I don't play CD's often, but when I do I want good sound.  The CXC checked all the boxes.  Happ...
Audio influencers on YouTube hiding comments from public view
@carlos269 -- Carlos, I don't know how long you have been an Audiogon member, but if you weren't around for the CD (Chuck Days), you will never appreciate the AC (After Chuck) days here on this Forum.  There have been some argumentative blowhards ...
Interim SS Amp - Likely Candidates?
@norust -- Keep us informed on your decision!  I was just joking with my comment about the campfire, I’m glad you weren’t offended.  A year is definitely a long time -- I thought you were talking about 3 or 4 months.  It makes sense to get an amp ...
Interim SS Amp - Likely Candidates?
@jasonbourne71 -- I find your replies on this Forum to be very refreshing.  You consistently make sane and reasonable comments, and seem to always strive for value.   I agree with you 100% on this Forum Question.  Unless you start your campfires...
Too good to be buried in a thread.
@roadcykler -- I was blessed to have seen the mighty Ronnie James Dio numerous times in my formative teenage years and early adulthood.  First with Rainbow, then Black Sabbath, and, of course, Dio.  Loved every concert.  One of the greatest voices...
Integrated that blew you away
I was very happy with my first Integrated Amp, which was my first "big boy" system when I turned 14 back in the mid-'70's -- a Kenwood KA-9100.  That amp gave me much joy throughout High School and College.  Unfortunately, it was stolen during a h...
