Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact. My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.
@audpulse I don't necessarily disagree with you at all. I can't begin to tell you how many members of Audiogon messaged me to say Mark repeatedly told them the refund check was in the mail yet they never received a thing from Mark. Now I see that Mark is advertising products on US Audiomart: https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649464751-core-power-tech-equicore-300/

I have one demo EQUI=CORE 300 with long output cable
I need to post for clarification of my involvement. I have never been employed by CPT, I've only been an enthusiastic customer who tried to spread the word about CPT's affordable products that really performed. I don't know the buyers Mark mentioned, I'm completely in the dark about the sale negotiations and not involved in any way, I'm only hoping I can be the new CPT "front man" meaning the phone/online contact for sales and customer service when the sale is completed. The CPT products have never been anything but stellar performers at affordable price points, and with Deep Core and other new kit coming I'm hoping I can (along with new ownership and policies) continue to offer CPT products to the audio community.
Why would you want your name involved with such a company? It will do harm to your name and brand. No way around it. Best stay clear. Time for this company and brand to go away. The technology in the power supplies is nothing special and easy to match. Very simple stuff. It can actually be improved. Nothing here any longer worth attaching yourself to.
I would suspect that a new buyer, if there is one, will change both the name and the casework for the products to distance themselves just as grannyring suggested. Any spare parts left lying around in Colorado have surely been used up by now on the products being sold on Audiogon to drum up survival cash.
So nothing changes again. See you guys again in another thread a few years from now I guess...
Looking for any association with this guy is the 1st action we should take with any new product or dealer. I really can't believe Dan was even considering it.
I have been looked at keces sometime back and even had few email exchanges with them. keces is a balanced isolation transformer just like BPT was. If Equi-core is of similar tech, then keces should be a great replacement since both BPT and CPT have shut down now.
I am very happy with my CPT Core Power 1200. It cost me just over 900 dollars and it bested my 2k plus PS Audio PPP by a large margin. My system is absolutely dead quiet between tracks.
Too bad for the demise of CPT. When I first bought a Core Power 300 Mark threw in a free high quality power strip for nothing. He let me upgrade to the 1200 for full price paid on the 300 and gave me a great price. So I have mixed emotions with Mark. Not sure what caused things to go so off track with CPT. I suspect a combination of Deep Core's failure to launch and health issues caused caused Mark to be painted into a corner and to have to make some bad and unpopular moves to survive. I sure hope though that costumers here and everywhere else who paid for and are owed CPT products are taken care of here soon. Kind of not looking good though so far.
Certainly no news about this on the RF Circuit and Assembly site which is supposedly the company doing the buy-out. Also, rather troublingly, the two links on the bottom of their homepage don't lead anywhere...
l meant customers. Lol Though this whole thing is no laughing matter. It seems we should soon be due here for another update about how there were further complications in the sale of CPT assets and that it should be any day now.
Tuffy, I was thinking the same thing. Where is Mark’s update about the sale? Kemper threw CPT under the bus in his last post. Doesn’t Mark have the decency to defend his defunct company?
Those of you who haven’t done so, should reverse the cancellation of your cancellation and pursue legal means to get back your monies.I would advise getting the groups of you together and filing a lawsuit and charges.
Our community thrives on trust between it’s member and retailer’s, and Mark Schifter is brutally taking advantage of that trust in a criminal fashion. This whole episode is like one giant ponzi scheme. While those of you who have given him monies are waiting, he is selling more product to others. He owe's Equicores to different customers and a functioning Deep Core was never brought to market so every singly order of Deep Core is undelivered.
We don’t need anyone like Mark Schifter anywhere near our hobby. Good luck people...
I posted the Colorado State Attorney General info in a post of this thread. I recommend someone local in the US contact them for guidance. Please share here.
I'm still waiting to read the post from Mark that says the deal went through and those that are owned refunds have received them. Of course, we will read posts here from those that have received their refund. I'm still waiting to read those...MARK! All I hear and have read is one excuse after another and that's been going on for years! It's apparent what you are doing! :-(
We should have pooled our resources from the start and put a lien on CPT, which no longer exists, so Mark's gone bye bye. Is he still on probation for his previous crimes? Would he be in violation of his probation here? Life lesson learned, don't be nice.
Well Mark’s latest ruse definitely bought him enough time to slither off stage. There’s not one nice bone in his body. Kemper looks like he was played - at least I hope so, compared to the alternative. Don't be so naive next time.
Well Kemper has posted in another thread within the last half hour yet has avoided this thread so you be the judge as to his situation until he chooses to clarify.
Well, here is a little story for you all. Two weeks ago, Sunday, 10/13, I contacted, via email, Mark Schifter, about his ad on US Audiomart, inquiring about the 3 power cords he advertised. After a few emails back and forth, I paid him, via Paypal ( he accepted friends and family ), for all 3 cords. He acknowledged payment received on the next day, Monday, 10/14, and he will ship them out soon, and let me know the carrier he used, along with a tracking number. Tuesday, 10/15 passes. Wednesday, 10/16, I emailed him about the shipping, and he indicated, later in an email, he, and his wife, Lynn, were both sick, and will forward my shipment asap. I decided to call him on Thursday morning, 10/17. I left a voice mail message, telling him I hope he and Lynn were ok, but, how I was getting nervous about the transaction. He called me back in 5 minutes, and told me the cables had been shipped, but, he was in his car and did not have the information of the shipper or tracking number, and he will forward it to me when he gets home. He did not sound sick to me. In fact, we spoke for a while, as we had met a long time ago when he was with AA. He sounded like a nice guy. On Friday afternoon, 10/18, I called, emailed and texted him, and never received a reply. Later that Friday night, I called Paypay, letting them know I lost contact with the seller, and because I paid friends and family, they could do nothing for me. They did, however, contact US Audiomart, and claimed fraud, so the ad was pulled. I still do not have my cables. I still have not heard from Mark, Lynn, their grandson, nobody. I still am out my money. Why did I do this to begin with ? From meeting Mark many years ago while he was with AA, and I suppose I remember him being a straight up guy. I was also in denial of many of the accusations about him. Why am I still thinking I might get my cables ? I certainly will not get my money. Anyway, Enjoy, MrD.
I wonder if there even is a wife "Lynn" at all. If there is, does she know she’s being repeatedly used as the grown-up equivalent of "the dog ate my homework" time and time again? Mark always has the family/health woe-is-me excuse, warmed-up and on the ready.
I can’t believe he’s STILL scamming right now. He posted previously about "moving on to a new industry", but seriously why would he?? He can just bide his time and cut again into this soft underbelly of us hi-fi enthusiasts - with little to no long term ramifications, it seems. As far as I’m concerned, ANYONE who touched this guy willingly - Underwood, Modwright, Kemper - is now tainted with the cloud of this mess. F them, all. I don’t care.
I doubt there is any "grandson" in this. And PP "friends/family" is only for people you ACTUALLY know and trust excessively, or in rare cases for amounts of money you absolutely don’t mind losing.
Kemper man, what did you think you were going to get out of this ridiculous charade? You fallen for any Nigerian scams lately bro?
According to acaman (Hugh of Angel City Audio) who knows them there is a wife named Lynn, a grandson and even a son-in-law. This I confirmed with another source who has known them for decades. So as despicable as Mark's behavior is and has been you might want to check your facts before jumping in. As someone aware of Mark's history I only bought from a dealer who charged after verifying the item was shipped. and contrary to what you think he is not tainted at all by this situation.
Interesting. Mark was supposedly on a flight to LA on 17/10/18 to "make the deal". He even messaged me a copy of his(?) ticket. I think maybe it was screenshots of the booking website. Den -> LA 17/10, LA -> Den 21/10. So someone was tripping, or pretending to.
Haven't heard from him since, despite my asking. If he can afford flights to LA and back, where is my refund? Where is anyone's refund?
