Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

Well, for the prices the command, they better be good.
What were you using before the Power Core Tech?
Bob
Welcome! bacardi

what are the prices on these PC? What other gear is in your system?
@gdnrbob. Hi Bob. Trust me. They are that good....I have had Kimber, Synergistic Research, Audience SE, Nordost, Tara Labs & Hidiamond. I have had power cords that are 3-4 times the price that just don't do what these Core Power Technologies can do. Try one and let me know what you think.
You certainly have had some of the best.  Prices?
what other gear is in your system?
Thx jafant. I have Casta model C's in brown walnut gloss, Audiozen Noah dual mono amplifier, Audiozen Aedo tube dac and Audiozen Lustro tube pre. All with seperate power supplies. I stream Tidal with laptop through an Audiophilleo 2 reclocker to dac. Soon upgrading to a Lumin server and Audiozens new integrated. I have a dedicated 20 amp line from panel with a Furutech GTX-D rodium outlet with carbon outlet cover. Everything plugs into my Hidiamond HDX1 network distributor. Full 1-2-3-4 reflection point room treatments and behind speakers. These cords are priced very good. check out the core power technologies web-site.
Interesting thread, otherwise I would have no idea of some of the gear available.
To assist with the above questions: http://www.corepowertechnologies.com
Bacardi, of the power cords you mentioned, the only one that I'm very familiar with is the HiDiamond P4. What does the CPT cords do that the P4 did not do and in which component?
I'm just trying to get a more accurate idea.
Interesting thread. I have to ask Bacardi if you have ever used power conditioners before? The reason I ask is how much of what you hear is due to the power conditioning being done. I use 2 large Equi=Tech power conditioners in my system. The first time I plugged one in, I was hearing the same changes that you mentioned plugging in the CPT's.
@lak: I used to have the p4 on power hungry components. Had one on my amp and on my subwoofer. The thing is the P4 does everything really good. The CPT does it at another level......
@lwin. I've had lots of conditioners but not the Equi=Techs. I believe once you eliminate all or most of dirt, noise, etc, things get real and your component shines it's colours.
Bacardi, It looks like the highest power cord available can handle only 300 watts. Is that correct?
From talking to Mark from CPT, they are going to have a 600, 1200 and 1500 model within a month or so.
I will be selling the 1800 watt model in about 2 weeks. It is a full 15 amp power conditioner with 4 Hubbell duplex outlets (for 8 units). It will retail for $1599.00. Info is here:

Newbie question: If I were going to put only one power cord, where would it be? To amp, or preamp, or DAC? I would guess amp; and would imagine that each of them would benefit. I've just wondered this question, and thought this thread a great place to ask it. Anyone have experience with Paul Speltz's AntiCables? I have the speaker cables, and just added RCA interconnects, and am amazed at the increase of music for a pretty low price. I know they also have power cords, which are on my future radar.
donzi-

the power cord (PC) can be elusive at times. Your best bet would be to experiment with it on all sources for the best decision. I do not believe there is a right or wrong here.  You want the PC to bring out the best of any gear.
@donzi, do any of your components have any ground hum? Most preamps have that issue.  If so put a CPT 150 on it. They are really dead quiet and Just stunning....you won't take it off...
I didn't use any power conditioning before I tried an Equi=Core 300 and Matrix outlet strip, now I understand the need for these products. My system has blacker, quieter backgrounds, more subtle detail, wider & deeper soundstaging, a more relaxed presentation and ease of listening, with no reduction of dynamic contrasts. The price is very reasonable and significantly less than most other similar devices.
As I understand it, the E=Q takes the 120V line and using only a specially designed transformer, splits it into 2, 60V halves of opposite phases, drains the noise off to ground, and reconnects the halves for a quiet 120V output. I probably have part of the explanation wrong, but that is the gist of how it works, no fancy circuitry, just solid engineering and transformer wizardry. Maybe Mark can add some more information.
I have not tried the Equi=Cores yet but I am a fan of balanced power over traditional line conditioning.  My Son of Q balanced power supply by Equi=Tech easily outperformed my much more expensive Audience aR6-TSSOX line conditioner as far as noise floor and dynamics but also resolved my subwoofer hum, something my Audience couldn't touch.  The Audience brought about some smoothness beyond what the Son of Q could provide but it wasn't enough to justify keeping both and so I sold my Audience.  The CPT chords are a great value if you only need 1-2 chords but if you're interested in applying the benefit of balanced power to all of your gear, you might find better value in something like the Son of Q which has 8 receptacles and can drive up to 1500 watts.  With something like the Son of Q, I have also found that I no longer need (or benefit from) many of the expensive mains cables I have on hand although I continue to use them because I have them (Audience AU24SE, Dynamic Designs Challenger AE15).

Even better than my balanced power setup, however, are the High Fidelity Cables products.  I am new to this magnetic conduction technology and I stumbled upon these at AXPONA and am currently evaluating the MC6-Hemisphere line conditioner + CT-1 power chords.  While more expensive, the difference is there.  The noise floor is even quieter, the dynamic contrasts seem greater, the tonal density is just unreal but the most spectacular thing about it is the electrostatic-like speed and transparency my system has acquired.  Compared to my balanced power supply, this is at a whole other level.
@romazicon, I really think you should give the CPT power cords a try now that you said you've tried the High fidelity. I haven't trialed them myself but heard about them. For price the HF are really really steep and at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price the CPT may just drop your jaw, as it did mine and many others....
We have had a lot of initial success with our EQUI=CORE 300 and the WireWorld Matrix, and IEC inlet Power Bar. You can use up to 6 components (paying attention to max power) in this configuration.

Most folks are running these with their "front ends" - but we know of many systems running an E=C for their power amps or integrated amps.

Bacardi, curious to know the price point you were spending on power cord's? I believe your statement of naming other brand's of cable's that was not as good as cpt power cord's was entirely premature,  lol!, since I know of  $5,000.00 to  $16,000.00 power cord's that will make this cord sound,  we'll,  broken so to speak of.
audiolabyrinth,
Bacardi talked about cables he has had in "his system" that he compared the CPT power cords to.  Do you own the $5,000.00 to $16,000.00 power cord's that you mentioned in your low budget system?  If so, have you compared the CPT's in "your system" to the $5,000.00 to $16,000.00 power cord's? Cables are system dependent and the effect one hears in their system is subjective to say the least.  Also, it is virtually and practically impossible to audition or a/b every cable on earth in one's system; and, please spare us your nonsense and constant shill on the Tara Labs cables.  Tara Labs is not the end of the road and never will.
@audiolabyrinth. Have you tried CPT? Try them and post what you've compared it to and its price point. If we don't hear from you, then you haven't tried them and we'll disregard your false statement if haven't already. You will be amazed within 24 hours.......
4orreal, I do have those 5 - 16 thousand dollar power cord's,  and lol!, never listened to anything better on my budget system, all of  $65, 000.00 budget system!
Hi Bacardi,
You are welcome!  Like you, I am interested in reading from people who have tried the CPT's in their system or heard it, and can say something direct and meaningful about them.
@audiolabyrinth:  So you have those cables in your $500.00 JBL speaker system?  The mere mention of the price of your cables means it sound better than a cable you have not heard?  Ha...I sense "something" weird in your small thinking mind.  If I have buy Tara Labs cables based on your input, you can count me out, Mr. Salesman.
Hi Bacardi,  please forgive me,  I was not trying to disrespect you or your thread,  but rather ask you what price point in power cable's you have used,  I know many cable's in the sub stupid money category that is state of the art by a few available brand's,  of course I have not tried them all that is available,  alot of them though,  I believe your statement should say the price point of cable's rather than dis entire brand's because some you mentioned has two top model's that is remarkable to say the least and I've personally had the privilege of listening to them and compared them respectively to other best available power cord's,  but hey,  I  would love to know more about the cpt power cord's and pricing,  bacardi,  Lord knows I do not agree with today's cable pricing, so if I can get there for less money,  by all means,  bring it.

Hi,

I actually have tested $5000-$18000 power cords and in my opinion the CPT cords will definitely NOT sound broken compared to any power cord you test them against, regardless of that power cables price point. I would put the CPT cord in my top 3 favorite power cords. Keeping in mind there is no best but rather best your system and your ears. We have tested over 400 different cable models, not brands but models and truth be told there are a ton of different cable flavors. For my system, after auditioning over 90 different power cable models, I now play with 3 different power cords in my system and the CPT cords are in my top 3 power cables of all time. Every time I added a CPT cord to my reference system, the system had more resolution, more information and more inner detail. The bass was much easier to locate in the soundstage and the midrange sounded more like a SET midrange. The system became more holographic. Usually there are trade-offs when you switch from cable to cable but I have not found any trade-offs with the CPT power cords. They do however take 150 hours to break in and the first 50 hours are a little painful.

It is interesting to hear people say the word "best" because I have not heard best but rather system matching in regard to cabling. I have heard bad cables that just never opened up or cables that were thin sounding with a lack of bottom end and that type of cable is not for me. We have seen approximately10 sets of HF cables come in on trade, no power cables from HF and I thought the RCA cables sounded good but they were not the best for the person that traded them in to my company.

The one thing I find funny is people coming on forums and saying they have not tried the product that the original post was about but then that same person says they have heard a better product. I also wonder why people equate spending huge funds on cables, to making the cable sound much better. I have heard some pretty darn good sounding sub $1000 cables and that is another reason I like the CPT cords, no gouging from CPT.

We are an audio distribution company in Canada and we like the CPT product so much that we decided to distribute the CPT cords in Canada. My suggestion would be to try a CPT cord against what you consider your favorite power cord because you might just be shocked, as I was!

Cheers,

4orreal,  I was hoping you would have a sinceable conversation,  not the childish one you are initiating that should be ignored,  you know nothing of what I own, and if you were mature enough,  we could enjoy a reasonable conversation,  lol!
@audiolabyrinth. Let's keep this mature and professional. Simply try a CPT cord. But hold your jaw, because it will fall......

Bacardi,  please answer my questions of price point of power cord's you used,  and the cost of the cpt power cord's,  thankyou.

Bacardi,

You must try one of the new Cerious Technologies Graphene Extremes.

@audiolabyrinth, I've tried a lot of cables $5000 and down. Ive tried cables $2000 that were better than $4000 cables. I personally found that cables with technology tended to have more positive affects on my system. I don't believe that sub-par cables at $100/200/300 are going to get it done for me as I've been exposed to really good power cords. In my opinion, most power cords are preference just like speakers and once you find a quality cable matched up to ones system, that's the one you should keep.

Pricing on CPT Power cords are on the website.
Hi bacardi,  thankyou,  I really would like to listen to the cpt power cord's,  how many hrs do you have on your cpt cord's? , although I've experienced nordost Odin,  taralab's Grandmaster,  high- fidelity power cord's,  etc... I'm opened minded to what's possible for less money,  keep me posted on your impression's of the cpt power cord's,  btw,  for me to use such a power cord as the cpt, it would minimum have to handle 2,400 watts a channel! , that is what my modified krell 700cx amplifier does into 2 ohms  load,  cheers bacardi.

Bacardi, No, I haven’t. The drawback to the CPT cables to me was the low gauge and low current it draws which limits it to low power sources. But, as you mentioned they will have a larger gauge version soon so I would be interested in trying it.

Want to swap a set to audition?

I have long been an audiophile and remember the first audiophile power cord I ever heard of, Duntech. I had to modify a power amp with an attached power cord so that I could use it. Now we are faced with countless pcs. I have probably tried thirty different ones from the first that cost an outrageous $100!

I am now trying the High Fidelity Cables Pros, that are so outrageously expensive that I hesitate to tell anyone. But damn they allow a sound stage that I never thought possible. What to say to those enjoying the CPT? Enjoy them. None of us will ever get to hear a full range of the pcs available. I do remember when I first got a PC from Siltech while I was using one from Radio Shack. The Radio Shack was clearly better and I returned the Siltech. About a year later I saw a new Siltech that looked just like the Radio Shack in construction.

I presently use High Fidelity power cords and have found the recent ones, not surprisingly better. I also find they don't sound at all like other power cords. So some of the differences of opinion maybe just tastes.

@ozzy , These power cords are never coming out of my system and in fact I am grabbing a couple more over the next month. Ozzy, I know you like to mix and match and even swap out cables all the time but for me the CPT are keepers. The Real Deal!

Hey Rum, didn't you say the same about HiDiamond too?  LOL!

I'll try when they offer a high current version for BIG amps.
@tbg , I do like your story and the funny thing is I have trialed and used a lot of brands. Some that were very hard to fit in, some that were just awful, some that had more bells N' whistles and tweaks than your 007 Vanquish, but it was the companies that were simple, solid, well built and not pulled from a bulk roll of wire that stood out in my system. The one that makes you track the same song again to see if you played the rite cut as your jaw drops. That is the one that above all should stand out.

If you can find a company that has all the qualities your looking for, fits your budget,  works in your system to the best that you have heard, then the synergy will be there. Those are the ones to leave in and enjoy..................
@knghifi, at that point in time yes, and many times B4, but like what I have said in the above, there is always a brand that does that something different and these CPT cords do everything way better and give me that "LIVE" sound. The end result is nothing I have heard thus far. And I still have three more to swap out.......I just wonder how far ones jaw can drop??????
I see some of the long time audiogoner's posting here now that I know well, some of which I have read their professional review's, and I trust their ear's on some audio,  @ tbg,  I  bet you could get the cpt company to send you some power cord's for review,  and in trade,  do an honest write good or bad, with comparison's to what you have there,  since I'm familiar with some high fidelity power cord's sound,  if this review indeed took place,  I would encourage you to email me where to read it tbg, always a pleasure to read some of the review's you produce.
audiolabyrinth, I actually hate to review power cords. One has to spend much time letting them settle down or breakin and certainly one never wants to make the judgment that A is better than B, as it is really only my opinion, B is going to be mad, and with other equipment may reverse my judgment. I view reviews as my personal experiences, which may not be shared by others.
@ romazicon: Another approach to get rid of the hum and getting great power conditioning is to have your electrician install a big isolation transformer (that can easily provide a much higher current than the Son of Q) between the AC panel and your wall outlet. I have always used the adept response series and have now my aR6-TSSOX behind an isolation trafo (installed in the crawl space, way out of sight).
Best of both worlds for just a grand more (parts+labor).
As you see on my systems page, I have been into HFC for a while. Magnets can be addictive!
@tbg, I think that's a fantastic idea for you to test and review a CPT 150 or 300 power cord so you know first hand how good they really are. And at 1/8 the price of a high fidelity Ultimate I can bet you would be really stunned....
@tbg, I'd like too but I am rather far from you but I hear Houston is a really nice city. My brother almost went to work there as a purchaser but went to Australia instead.....
