I just today received two Odyssey Audio Kismet monobloc amps to drive my Fynes. Even before breaking them in, I can tell they will be incredible. In the first hour of playing them, I can hear an expanded sound stage, both in width and depth, and the tonal qualities of the instruments is excellent. It was a four month wait, but It was most definitely worth it, and Klaus at Odyssey, who builds the amps, is a pleasure to deal with. Now for a few months of burn in. |

@csmgolf how are legacy speakers to live with. I have only saw them at shows. I wondered how they would be as a day to day reference |

From the Whisper on down in this list, they have all been augmented by at least one subwoofer. The Aeris are currently paired with two Legacy Audio Point One HD subs. I use them to flatten the bass, not produce more bass. Actually looking to go to a pair of Legacy Metro XD subs for this job.

Awesome to see all of these incredible speakers who have made so many happy over the years. And @m3thos so glad to see a mention of the Spicas. Awesome speakers and an unbelievable value in the day. Had a friend with those and a full CJ setup and a Well Tempered TT and the sound was spectacular. Always a reminder to me the value of what you put before your speakers and how a well designed stand mount speaker can make beautiful music! |

@frankmc195 the cm9 did not image well and they were tipped up in the treble. The revel studio 2’s were great but a little to detailed and power hungry. The Vienna’s were great but the treble needed more air and collapsed a little at louder volumes. Man the Gato’s are truly a jewel. They are like the 30k gamut’s that they look like. They are a little finicky but if you get the right cables and amos they are special. |

calvinj quick question how did the B&W CM9s compare to the later speakers you had? I have several pair of speakers including B&W CM6s which have the double bass drivers like the CM9s. The thing is if I had to live with the CM6s, I could do it easily because they do sound really good. I do have had many brands of speakers including Wilson so compare them to and they stand up well. |

Not too many speakers for 55+ years of listening...

@newbee , I also owned a pair of Rectilinear 7 speakers back in the 70’s. They were quite impressive for the time. I wish I never sold them. I believe the company folded shortly after. |
