It happened again tonight

Playing Pink Floyd The Wall Side 4, nice and loud. Kind of loud live would be if they would keep it just short of harmful. Kind of loud you feel it. Run Like Hell comes and the lead guitar riffs are just exhilarating and have me going and then the beat picks up and I catch myself hyperventilating again. Its just so crazy clear and present and you are there, all I can say is Thank you, Krissy. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you so very much.

@Roxy54  I thought godsmacked might get some kind of reaction. Strange the purple mirco dot didn't??
Turn up the quiet.......there that's better
"...you could get so caught up in it you catch yourself breathing along with guy in the song."
"Its like some kind of sick twisted compulsion."

"I simply was attacked for not being knowledgeable enough about Floyd. lol"
You don’t need no education, you do need some thought control. At least around here.

What do people usually do when they have a bunch of stuff they have no use for and Goodwill does not accept donations?
There is no, "dark side of the album."    Matter of fact; it’s all dark!

Good one.
@jafreeman-    There is no, "dark side of the album."     Matter of fact; it’s all dark!
"All the magic? Its on vinyl. Only. Sorry."  MC
Like they say about types of house siding: "Vinyl is final."
And with vinyl, you can play the dark side of the album.
The reply I got: Digital, huh? Sorry for your loss.....
Perfect sound forever, it was said. Until it wasn't.....
Guess I'll have to live with it.
I heard the Doug Sax remaster of DSOTM on Mobile Fidelity - is that the Ultra Disc II? - on a great big system recently and I walked away with no Sox.
Oh. Well. Thought it went without saying, but maybe should have mentioned it.  All the magic? Its on vinyl. Only. Sorry.

Millercarbon. Its my tag. And my table. https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/8367
Can anyone tell me, what is the best red book reissue of DSOTM at this time in history?
I’ve learned to not accept freebies here from strangers for the most part because it usually turns into a rat trap if you are not smitten and talk about it.
It’s also usually the most nebulous tweak products looking to gain a following and you end up getting what you paid for.
In these trying times I'm glad Millercarbon audio system got him to hyperventilate to the music he was listening to. Last night I was listening to Diana Krall's new album Turn Up the Quite and although it didn't make me hyperventillate I was
Godsmacked on how good it sounded. I had my own personnel concert, and didn't think about the Corona virus once! Went to the Dark side of the moon kick off tour back 72 I  and it was mind blowing even without taking purple micro dot
@barts-    ".....with that performance "pulling out all the stops" as it were."          AHHH; the way Bach meant it, to be played/heard (FORTISSIMO).       It’s great, when performers and listeners, "get it" (the power of a piece), whether Bach or Pink Floyd.                            Hopefully: the marriage is as powerful.

Geezuz. When I read what millercarbon shared - I could esily understood what he was saying, to imagine the moment. It helps when you are familiar with the music. I am. I know I don’t have the system he has, but mine isn’t too bad. I can imagine it and will try to replicate it. No need to knock an aesthetic moment. Who does that?

These guys. Just look how awful they are. One even admits he has no freaking clue who or what, yet proceeds to slam insults left and right. Its like some kind of sick twisted compulsion.

What’s craziest of all is this is a site supposedly here for the express purpose of people with a keen interest in high quality audio to share their experience and knowledge. And yet there’s a certain group who every single time anyone does this they jump in with nothing but insults and criticism.

Pink Floyd The Wall is one of those records I had and enjoyed in college, always highly regarded, but over the years not played much. Recently having gone through many, many upgrades the last year or so I have been rediscovering certain records like this. The Wall was a real surprise! The lyrics carry far more meaning and weight now at 62 than they ever did at 22. The music is of course awesome. But what really gets me now is the insane depth of quality in the recording. Its not even any sort of special pressing. No White Hot Stamper. Just a record I bought back in the day. But the soundscape is so wide and deep and varied it just sets you back.

Run Like Hell is a scorcher, a rare suitable for radio play rocker on a double album with few traditional format songs. Mother is another one. Traditional format I mean, not rock scorcher. But Mother has a very untraditional time signature- and lyrics! Momma’s gonna keep you right here under her wing, she won’t let you fly but she might let you sing. What?!?! Of course Momma’s gonna help build the wall. Which we all know is the wall that separates us from others. The wall we crash through only at the moment of death.

Talk about deep.

Shame we had to wade through such shallow minds to get there. Worth the trip though, eh?

millercarbon, you did a lot more than just say you enjoyed the music, you did the "my system is the best" for the 1,000th time, and made a huge plug for PPT products even though to my knowledge they are not for sale anymore.

And your ignoring three_easy_payments post where he says he believes he was contacted by Krissy with what may or may not be a solicitation, we cannot know if it was her, whether she was going to give or offer to sell him something, or whether it was one of the persons who have taken the company over in a hostile way using a fake email address with her name in it.  I have read a lot of three's post and respect him and understand why he could get royally ticked.
Incidentally, I made changes to my system concurrent with installing the Emats.  Everything sounds better but I won't know how much improvement was from what unless I took out the Emats, but its not that important to me.  Plenty of promoters here.
But I would like you to know of my experience with Krissy. All I did was send a short PM expressing I was sorry to hear about the passing of her significant other. I had never emailed or had any contact with her before and have never spoken to her ever. She asked me if I have ever used a PPT product and I said I had not (didn’t believe the hype). For no reason but to be nice without me asking or expecting she sent me six Emats and three or four of the Ecards. She would accept no payment when I saw what she had done. No one else other than a relative has just flat out given me about $4,000 worth of something. II have never mentioned this to anyone or promoted a PPT product. In my way of looking at things she is really a good person.

Yes. Whole bunch of people have ordered stuff and found more in the box than they ordered. Freebies to try. No obligation, no solicitation. A genuinely kind soul. Only here you find such absolute lowlifes with nothing better to do than throw the lowest insults at the most vulnerable. They are beyond pathetic. Lower than despicable. And then they have the nerve to say this place is out of control. Well, it is. Or they wouldn’t be here.

Just look how far out on a limb they go in their obsession. I enjoyed some music one night. I decided to share it. For enjoying music, the sound of music played on my system, which I thought was the whole point of being an audiophile in the first place, for that one simple thing these guys can do nothing but trash talk.

They are not audiophiles. They are the furthest thing from audiophiles. Oh, they love something all right. But it sure isn’t audio.
@three_easy_payments
Please bear with me for a minute. After reading about three of millercarbon’s posts I realized he is one man who I have nothing in common with and would never want to have anything in common with.

After 20 years on this site I have just realized after this thread that I am an "unemotional" person compared to a lot of the people here, as are my friends. Maybe the fact that I enjoy hunting out of a deer camp with like minded people has something to do with it, I don’t know or care. I’ve been very successful taking animals.

I'm going to go out on a limb but I suspect Waters, Gilmour, Mason, and Wright should be thanked for this experience more so than Krissy. Magical musical genius vs magical paste.
I think I’ve read in past posts that Krissy was the person selling the paste that it used on electrical connections?
Anyways, love me some Pink Floyd. Saw them in the early 90’’s, the old Foxboro stadium, Massachusetts. I was 19. I’ve seen 100+ concerts, that one is / was the best.

Love the solo david Gilmour stuff, “live at Gdans’k” comes to mind, great version of  shine on you crazy diamond.

Great experience when you’re moved by music like millercarbon described, I have a moment every now and then. The same songs seem to trigger them.
Exactly @1971! When I questioned why someone would attribute the exhilarating experience solely to a tweak vendor , when dozens of other factors are in play in a music system, I simply was attacked for not being knowledgeable enough about Floyd. lol
And what the H... Link Pink Floyd’s mystical with PPT’s mythical now that’s moronic.
Hey, look, it was an honest mistake. She obviously mistook you for an audiophile.
Yes, that Krissy @bigwave....the person who has now sent me an offline message providing a number to call to get access to her products.  She wrote the following:

"Do you already have some of my new product line?
I've got 3 new designs... and no real way to sell or mention it."

The circus is in town and taking orders. Quite a racket and teed up using over the top threads like this to garner attention.  Did millercarbon thank the speaker or amp manufacturer "from the bottom of his heart" for the out of body experience he had?  Of course not, he thanked someone promoting a tweak who later descends upon the scene to make a buck.  This place is out of control folks.
Vette5451...the Hana’s are amazing cartridges for the money...its the Alnico magnets! I'm in love with my Hana EL, if you can love an inanimate object! Lol
I’m not 100% but isn’t a Krissy when you yank up a guy’s underwear? There’s also an Atomic Krissy. Did millercarbon get a Krissy?
@millercabon, I liked your story but you lost me with the Krissy reference?  Who or what is “Krissy”.
@rodman99999
I got married in a cathederal with the real deal pipe organ and organist. He was thrilled when I requested Bach's  'Toccata and Fugue in D minor' as the music in the middle of the ceremony. Well, he kicked our a$$es
with that performance "pulling out all the stops" as it were.

I've been building a stereo for 50 years to recreate that tune. And happily I'm there. Music is emotion.
One of the first times I heard it, a friend queued it up to Wizard of Oz perfectly. My head almost exploded. Psilocybin may or may not have been involved.

or a button or two..

How do you think I got this way man, I expanded my mind, like it's, it's,
I don't know what it is. It's, it's BIG..Though..

Hay just because I have a "move or be eatin' " Tat on my forehead backwards, means nothing. It goes over well in my sunday school class.

While I'm humming Purple Haze, by Jimmy...

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves, we will come rejoicing bring in the Sheaves, Pass the collection plate again, looks a little light..

Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favorites. Great sound engineering and a musical masterpiece.

wait till you try tidal....not even mqa just cd quality. it’s free for the first month .what can you loose besides compression and harshness? another way is playing cd quality or better files from a pc using audirvana. compare any of those to spotify.
I think @millercarbon's condition was induced by a magical cocktail that combined quantum materials, carbon derivatives, and nanotechnology.
I've learned to appreciate good opera. Every time I listen to DSOTM or The Wall, it is like listening to great rock opera. I'm not much of a psychedelic rock fan, much preferring good jazz, but the Pink Floyd band really gets to me. Their music has such emotional depth, and as stated before, David Gilmore is an incredible guitarist.

Recently replaced Nagaoka MP300 with Hana SL and the first album I put on was mfsl /dark side of the moon - brain damage. While the cartridge was still new the sound was bliss and made the hair on my neck stand up.
I have 14 Pink Floyd albums (CDs) (Three versions of DSoTM)
‘The Wall’ has never been high on my list. My top two are Meddle and Animals followed by Wish You Were Here. I just received The Wall -1994  Harvest Remaster by Doug Sax. It has much more bass than I’ve ever heard from any other reissue.  Tonight I heard The Wall more amazing than I ever have in my 46 years. I’m extremely happy with the details, staging, nuances and the heavy bass. Luckily I have never over played The Wall, but I surely look forward to playing it often.
Saw the Wall in a large format theater in San Francisco when it was new. Great sound system, Wild video.  Ah...the days...
the prisoner who now stands before you was caught red handed showing feelings. Showing feelings of an almost human nature. This will not do!

And when they've given you their all some stagger and fall after all its not easy, banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall.

I appreciate @millercarbon opening up about a very transcendental experience. We have all had those moments listening. I get that feeling listening to Camel's Lunar Sea every time. I don't know why but the rhythm just takes me someplace else. Just takes me away. However, I don't think anyone has put out a run like Pink Floyd did. DSOTM to Wish You Were Here to Animals to The Wall to The Final Cut (probably the most under appreciated LP in the group).  Pink Floyd was Steeley Dan before Steeley Dan was Steeley Dan. The musical production was just stellar.  This doesn't even include some of their most artistic works like Echoes, Atom Heart Mother Suite, and The Journey. Anyways, I keep listening, experiencing some of those same emotions that I felt when I was younger but did not understand. I now get it and is so much more appreciated
Congrats millercarbon,  moments like those are transcendent.  I had the same feeling watching Duane Allman in 1971,  I still get tears in my eyes listening to him now as I revisit his genius.
Just gave it a spin. Love it. Bought it when it was released. The Berlin Wall Waters DVD is worth checking out. And we're still fighting fascism, nationalism, and foolhardy stupidity.

Drawing rational conclusions is an acquired skill.  Ideology is a much easier way.

Momma loves her baby, and daddy loves you too. And the sea may look warm to you babe, and the sky may look blue, but ooooh babe....
If you should go skating on the thin ice of modern life, dragging behind you the silent reproach and a million tear stained eyes, don't be surprised when a crack in the ice appears under your feet. You slip out of your depth and out of your mind with your fear flowing out behind you, as you claw the thin ice.

roxy54 is just the sort to say the band is just fantastic that is really what I think. Oh and by the way, which one's Pink?
Miller ...

After your Pink Floyd post, I accessed "The Wall" via Spotify and listened to it through my newly PPT Total Contact pasted Audioengine A2+ speakers. Having a compromised respiratory system, I almost passed out listening to "Run Like Hell."

You've gotta revisit the album. It isn't just for stoned college kids. David Gilmore kicks butt.

These guys are/were musical geniuses.
