Thank You!
Forum Updates 11/24/2021
You probably noticed, but we’ve added some new functionality to the Forums to enrich your experience. Nothing like adding new stuff right before a long holiday weekend. 🙂
Mentions Improvements
First and foremost... we’ve improved the @Mentions function. We’ve fixed an inconsistent tagging bug and updated the logic. Now when you type "@" the suggestions will weight recent commenters first. Then as you type it will live-filter to match (all! not some!) users (like it should!)
Avatars are also included for easier identification.
Blockquote Formatting
You probably noticed, but we’ve added some new functionality to the Forums to enrich your experience.
We’ve changed the styling of blockquotes to make them stand out more. They would get lost on the darker odd-numbered messages. The next iteration is to support highlighting text and "Reply" to it in your message, and have it link to the original message. Baby steps.
Forum Text Editor
The former editor was not What You See Is What You Get. So your post would look different between compose, preview, and live. No longer is that the case.
The new editor is WYSIWYG, and addresses the most common complaint we hear—the erratic line break behavior.
Well, all that’s gone now. Pressing ENTER...
will create a new paragraph.
And pressing SHIFT+ENTER...
will create a single line break.
We now strip pasted content of hidden formatting that we don’t support. We did not do this previously and it caused a lot of discrepancies, which was not obvious unless you viewed the HTML. Goodbye hidden <span> tags!
We’ve also added additional formatting options: Underline, Strikethrough and Remove Formatting. The editor also shows you in the bottom left what type of formatting/container you are in.
New Forum Features
• Insert Externally Hosted Image: As you can see, images can now be added directly into your post by clicking the Image icon and providing the image URL.
• Emoji Menu/Support: 🙌 Rejoice! Use modern hieroglyphics to speak for you. 🙌
• Media Embedding: Pasting a URL from whitelisted media publishers like YouTube, Tidal, Bandcamp, Spotify, Giphy, Flickr, Twitter, and more will automatically embed the content dynamically. Share your Figma wireframes to your heart’s content. Check it out:
We appreciate you using this platform, and we know these improvements are long overdue, but we are committed to continuously improving each area of the site.
Not sure if anyone here is opinionated... but for the one or two of you may be, we would like to hear your feedback about what steps we can take for the future of the forum: Audiogon Forum User Survey
Feel free to test out the new functionality in this discussion. We're aware of a few mobile behavior discrepancies across different browsers and OSes. But if, and when, you encounter any bugs, you can post it in here but it would be better to let us know via a Support Ticket so we can compile everything for the developers to work through.
Thank you.

A lot of nice features. Reminds me of the song "You know it don’t come easy" Johnny Ringo oh oh wrong Ringo! :-) I’ll be your huckleberry. "Hell Doc I got a lot of friends.. I don’t" Best supporting actor in a role I’ve ever seen. Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday Thanks Mrs. Tammy/Team (best Admin around) Regards |
Thanks for the update, and getting the single line break to work. Are there plans to address the text or graphical wrap issue that occurs in many forum threads, when viewing with a smartphone? Mobile formatting issue? Thanks for your help, |
Thank you very much @tammyholt and have a very happy Thanksgiving! |

Thanks Tammy for the Great Leap Forward! Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the leftovers...turkey this, turkey that, turkey salad with turkey bone pate' and (of course) the unforgiveable turkey gravy iced crema' dessert. *shudder* ;) @nonoise...Aren't black cats great? *S* |
@asvjerry ...yes they most certainly are. All the best, |

*g* Well...in posting, as in audio... Sometimes less is more. (That doesn't excuse all that stuff I mess about with, but I enjoyed your vid...*S* ) Spouse told me about the billboard she saw today in Greenville, SC..... From your North Pole to your South hole.... Whisper Bidets "Daddy, what does that mean?" "Ask your mother..." *LOL* |
This is a test "Naked". I want to see if I get disappeared. It use to be when you said you were naked in the back yard watering the plants. Just wearing a hat you could, NO you WOULD get disappeared.. :-) We'll see? LOL I like driven the tractor naked too. Nothing like November air in the Netherlands and a good Hat. :-) |
All kidding aside. I like it. I might even learn how to use it. MY spell checker is working better. NO idea why other that it's interactive and "LEARNING" it will become "Self Aware", by May 12, 2022. Operation Reboot will be active at 0001 hours star date 13052022.0001 Everyone's car will start and then shut off by 13052022.0002 Report all cars without drivers reporting to designated departure areas. :-) |
This is a mozartfan check. 3-4 in a row.. I call it the machinegun poster. Jimi Hendrix would be proud.. Just Beta testing Tammy.. Be of good cheer.. :-) Tammy please oh please, please, Please! add a "Tourette's Button" That's my favorite button other than the "Shock the other guy Button" I love that one when the camera is on.. See the person run off and have to change their dipper. Better than eatin' bugs.. Regards |
I recently noticed I can respond and communicate with the individual who posted a comment. This allowed me to get to know people on a different level and tap their knowledge. These changes are difficult to understand using the limitations of my iPhone’s small screen. I will use my computer when I get home. |
@oldhvymec ...Ah, ultimately what you desire in the end is a 'cheeky checker', a product of Roto-Rooters' Dark Ops subsidiary....the last word was caught by the Spell Checker, of which I'm not under. I'll prefer the Random option, myself....much more real. ;) Enhanced AI-'Woke' vehicles are under Beta prior to noted Star Date times, so certain 'Shock: All local/Autolock all current/Run all" is still being studied for 'Priority Only' response rates....that ought to cover your last request. *s* My fav to date is the Heat Seek Option/Tailgater Termination System....the 100 meter radius Cell Blocker is just fun to run... Hope your Holiday Feast was festive...cheers, J |
My proximity alert sensors are set for 1500 meters and inbound speed and locations are prioritized. Slide rule and an abacus for calculations and geese for bio proximity sensors. No high tech here. Trebuchet and 55 gallon drums of gasoline. I'm low tech and really really analog, BUT effective. BTW Spend every cartridge twice if you can't reload them. :-) Military family 101. Regards.. |
"...took my clue from Bobs' Subterranean Homesick Blues' and went underground in a literal way, the 'house' is MCM Bunkerstyle. Dawg loads the Treb, and answers "Sir, Yesser, Sir!" with a bark accent. Crossbred the chickens with velociraptors, and had the piranhas' in the moat drill them with titanium broadhead beaks and curare' dipped claws.... Gotta feed 'em Regular, as y'all know....don't want them getting testy.... or too hungry.....;) Dawg has a .223 minigun harness, knows how to keep head Down, aim UP..." RSVP by 'hardened' carrier pigeons Only, I guess. And the TT doubles as a interrogation device.... And the 'Blue Angels' are A10-level bluebirds...5x5, got the memo... 'Call 1st or else.' Gotcha. 😏👍👌🙌 |
