You own a store, you sell 2 brands, which?

Thought experiment:

You run a store which sells used and new gear from any point in history.  The catch is you can have exactly 2 brands.  One of electronics one of speakers.

Defunct brands are OK as are those current with long histories.

What brands are they?

PASS LABS and MAGNEPAN

Both expensive,

I always felt Magnepan was quite reasonable, all things considered.
Same thing I sold back in the mid-1970's - 1990's:

Audio Research and Magnepan

That's about all you need for the major components if you are actually interested in accurate reproduction.

Cheers
VTL and Wilson.

Hey, if nobody buys them, I still get to listen to them all day.
Schiit and Klipsch.
They both range from affordable to audiophile.

I've owned neither...yet.
Yamaha and Macintosh. Yamaha covers every aspect of AV from consumer gear to audiophile. Macintosh will satisfy the snobs.
You can't make money out of a bricks and mortar store that stocks only two brands.
Hello,
Samsung and Sony. Due to the lines that Samsung own and Sony because they cover the rest. Did anyone hear about the Sony A9 4.1 surround system. It is supposed to be totally incredible and a totally immersive experience. Maybe we can just add this system to our 2channel rooms so we don’t have to compromise our awesome 2 Channel systems. Have you noticed how many people still have their projection screens in their 2channel rooms. I know I still do. Maybe it’s time to get back into HT or music surround sound. Of course we will still have one seat in the room. 😁
No need to tell people you added the Sony A9 system.
I'll go with part to be different, part cause I own there stuff.

KEF and Technics

But Cambridge Audio & JBL would be my close second for the same reason.
Luxman - electronics to disc to turntable and JBL big speakers and little boom boxes to running headphones
Silly....Yours and mine. ;)

Sound Spaces by Eric and AVLOmnis.

...at worse, we could 'bench race' a lot.
...at best, make people happy.

Currently I 'do' more of the latter. ;)  Non audio, tho'' *sigh*

Entrepreneurship is hot these days.....*L*

('ell, I'm already starting to 'commute' to Greenville....what's a few more miles, right? )  😏

My 'problem' would be getting confused with a certain hotel chain...

"I'd like to reserve a room..."

Yeah, I'm sure you need a space where you and X can 'sleep'....
...we've got this closet by the laundry that goes for 550$/24 hrs....

If they haven't hung up before the end of That, you can sell them ANYTHING.  *LOL*
Only two brands? That’s going to be tuff and I have to make rent by the end of the month so I’m going with Marantz and Paradigm.

If I just won a large Lottery and I’m looking for a hobby instead of hanging out on the beach all day of fear of skin cancer then it’s MBL. I’m covered with speakers too and I just made my life easier having only one vendor and not dealing with another… gives me more time on the beach.
PASS LABS and MAGNEPAN

Both expensive, but you'll never have to make excuses or apologize to anyone
The point?
We don’t need no steeking point.

Dynaco and Southwest Technical Products
McIntosh and JBL because together you can make great stereo and home theater systems. I’m including Synthesis by JBL. Both brands are $$MONEY$$!!
Wilson and Luxman

in front store

every thing else in the back of the store.

AG 🇦🇺
Samsung?  That gets you all the Harman holdings: Revel, JBL, Mark Levinson, etc.

McIntosh, including vintage used!  And Magnepan as McIntosh has the needed power to drive the big ones!  Let's not forget LRS speakers and that McIntosh sells a full rnge of gear
You have no business opening a store with only two brands… new twist on the desert island question.

The real point of this thread is to find out who would be interesting to hang out with for no reason at all and who is going to rain on all the interesting discussions. :-)
Vandersteen and Quicksilver ;

Well, the Vandersteen amps are among my favorites in the category of no such thing as too expensive.
What’s the point of the question ,  most money $$
or personal favorite ?
Mcintosh and VMPS. I just can't help myself..

Plus Mac has a line of speakers TOO. There are a few of their speakers I would love to try..

VMPS closed down in 2012, that might be a problem.. Sure have a cult following. I loved them.. Still do..

That guy would send out a person or show up himself and set the speakers up including the passive radiator (Mortite putty pinching to the size of a thumb nail) for the guys room and amp.

It was and is an Impressive way to tune a system.. and WAS Impressive customer service. The price was just really reasonable too. Still are..

Regards
Edifier and Sony.

Edifier - because it's a good brand.
Sony, because it's well-known. A store for the masses. This is why dealers close to where I live are starving (no audiophiles, only folks with nice backyards, pools, excessive home improvements, big tvs etc.
Easy choice as both live rent-free in my head...

1. T-E-K-T-O-N

2. R-A-V-E-N

Pretty easy decision here. I'd be in on Sonos before they went public and Beats before selling to Apple for $3B.

Well, this is about a retail store, not stock trading. :)
Speakers and amps don't matter. I will only carry snake oil. I heard the profit margins are huge!
