Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Ingrid Laubrock - The Last Quiet Place (2023)

The best jazz recording of 2023!

Progressive, complex, great interplay and playing by all musicians.

Sextet with Mazz Swift (violin), Tomeka Reid (cello), Brandon Seabrook (guitar), Michael Formanek (bass), Tom Rainey (drums)

Unsuk Chin - Violin concerto No. 1 (2001)

Could be the best violin concerto of the 21st century, so far.

Contemporary, yet still quite approachable.

Some Who to end the week and kickoff the weekend.  Live at Leeds is a great way to blow off some steam.  The My Generation medley and Magic Bus rock.

Midori-Live At Carnegie Hall(CD SK 46742 1991)

2 exquisite recordings in both content and SQ!

I ordered the Vanilla Fudge box set after seeing Phil Aston’s review.  Glad to see others are enjoying it too.  It’s coming from Australia so it’s taking a while.  Looking forward to playing all 9 CDs so it will be playing on my system as soon as possible.

Band's name:

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Album:

Dirt, Silver & Gold

This album was a favorite during one of my most fun times of my life. I just listened again, and was amazed by how it still feels just right. Try it and if you don't like it I'm offering a money back guarantee!!!!!! 😁

Seriously,  you will love it!!

I listened to Michael Fremer’s YouTube recorded visit to the Audiophile Foundation where he recommended an LP he was involved in producing.  Its title is Rufus Reid and Caelin Cardello, just a piano and an upright double bass player.  The theme is New Directions in Jazz Piano.  The two have never played together but found themselves making music together informally at the Klavierhaus, a midtown NYC piano restoration specialist retailer where it soon became obvious they were making magic.

i am into classical music and opera with jazz hardly at all, but I can readily recognize that this recording is special.  Check availability at Acoustic Sounds.

Miles Davis’ “Nefertiti.”

Going to have to play this through another half dozen times - as I do with all of Miles’ work.
