Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Current - Gilad Hekselman - Life, at the Village Vanguard - an amazing live album.

Keith Whitley-A Tribute Album(CD 1994)

Ginny Owens-Live From New Orleans(CD 2005)

An Americana/Heartland vibe precedes another Sunday night vinyl session.

Allman Brothers- Eat a Peach

Goodtime music with an awesome percussion section. Analogue Sounds inexpensive repress

Abra Moore-Strangest Places(CD 1997) Easily as good as any of her contemporaries best output but is unfortunately unknown with the masses. Friday night vinyl follows.

Sugar-File Under Easy Listening(CD 1994) Garage/Noise Rock jumpstarts an unusual Tuesday night vinyl session.

Shady Grove

Butch Ross

I have heard this song a bunch by a ton of inspired musicians but this version is superb with a nice nod to the Carter’s.

I watched a 4 part Paul Simon documentary last week (part 4 is good) dusting off my collection. First up, Hearts and Bones, much better than the critics said. Next up Graceland

+1 Live - Throwing Copper, jafant!

I was fortunate to catch them live in Cincinnati. Days Of The New were the opening act.

The new Mark Knopfler album, One Deep River.  Kinda sleepy, but well recorded.

The Gracious Few

The Gracious Few (also known as TGF) were an American rock group from York, Pennsylvania. The band featured guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer and drummer Chad Gracey from the band Live, along with lead vocalist Kevin Martin, and guitarist Sean Hennesy from the band Candlebox.

Listening to Jane Weaver,   Love In Constant Spectacle.

Interesting listen. Not great, but worth a listen.

Watched Chad Kassem's recent video on his top 10 jazz albums to demonstrate quality recordings and his system (found here:

and it motivated me to stream Louis Armstrong's Satchmo Plays King Oliver. Loved it, and ordered a vinyl copy on Discogs. Moved on to Dr. John's The Brightest Smile in Town and Dr. John's Gumbo, and now spinning the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Feels like an eclectic day as 30 mph winds blow everything sideways outside. Wife just headed out fpr a few hours so may need to fire up Led Zeppelin IV next, at a volume she wouldn't tolerate. Happy listening.
