US Speaker Manufacturer MOST in need of a Great Designer??

I'm glad i steered clear of the Klipsch Palladium.   The Heritage is time tested.   Super reliable, but easy to repair should something fail.  The Palladium had problems with the drivers separating from the surround.


I had Revel m106 for a while,  great little speaker .  Replaced them with Klipsch Heresy III,  traded that "accurate " sound of the Revel for the live sound of Klipsch and never looked back.   Recently replaced those with Forte IV....  can't believe I'm not reading more good things about the new Forte.  They are excellent. 

What brought me back to Klipsch was that I was having a graduation party for my daughter ....   did not want my Revels to get knocked off their stand, or used as a coaster, so that week I picked up a mint pair of KG 1.5 for $50 to set up temporarily then use in the garage.  Glad I got them because i walked in my living room and someone had a paper plate on top of the Klipsch and was eating off them.    

I could not believe how good those little Klipsch sounded with my cj pre and Quicksilver Mid Monos....  that was pretty amazing to hear those with good electronics and a sub.   They sounded good !   Really proved that the electronics weigh heavy in the equation.  I left them set up for a little while,sold the 106 and bought H3 .   Traded those toward Forte. Got only $300 less than I paid for H3 as a trade so it was a no brainer. In fact wasn't even looking for new speakers....but I had to do it.  Absolutely no regrets,  the Forte IV are the a well designed , great sou ding speaker.

@mattmiller  Sonus faber is an Italian company. And their speakers are wonderful and not in need of a redesign. Rolled out 3 or new lines in the last 2 years.

klipsch tried to compete.  remember the p series towers with zebra wood cabinets?  

as for designers, i suggest that harmann / revel could use  one that is a voicing specalist.  never heard a revel speaker that i liked.  

I suppose the only slightly frustrating thing about Klipsch is that they don't compete in the no holds barred ring, but in a way, it's also nice that their speakers are all within the realm of possible ownership to many audiophiles. The Heritage designs are basically well designed, and if an owner, like donsachs and others here wants to take it to the extreme with parts upgrades, they will be rewarded.
I started my audiophile life with Klipsch, and 19 speakers later, I've been back with them for 12 years.  

Chorus, have you heard the latest Klipsch Heritage?   They are pretty nice.....  I have the Forte IV and I have to say kudos to Roy and his team, they really improved on an already great speaker.   

By great I mean the sound but looks can kill too. (B&W)

AJ is a proven talent.  

I chose Klipsch because I believe they have much growth potential.

Best would be if designed his own line.

I think that a lot of companies need a fresh new great designer to pull them out of the mediocre sound that is all too common in today's speakers, the industry needs a complete overhaul in most respects.

No sure what you mean by a great designer.  Product looks or actual performance issue?

Dynaudio has recently made some changes to one of the lines the "i" series they now sound much better.

Sonus has made so many changes but the older line still sounds excellent.

Could care less about the others mentioned.  They never floated my boat too much.

That’s quite a list mattmiller, they all need HELP? JBL and Mcintosh need help? They are two the longest running companies in the business. Klipsch is right in there, too.

I will strongly disagree. Klipsch has Roy Delgado and he is a very gifted speaker designer. Why did you choose Klipsch?

Sometimes a good designer is not allowed to do his best due to marketing and management. 

This wouldn't have anything to do with Andrew Jones just having become available, would it?

Why limit it to US-based companies?  I’ve always found the Dynaudio Confidence line to be absolutely heinous, and Ref 3A’s Nextel finish is no prize either but still not even in the same league as the Dyne’s travesty.
