Carl Palmers "Legacy" they project a bunch of ELP concert footage on the screens and have some of the Greg Lake vocals played over the PA while the band plays the instrumental part. Very fun and Palmer still has his chops at 73.

Went to an amazing concert last night. Searched the topic and the threads I saw didn’t match so starting a new discussion. What was your most recent concert?
I Saw the Experience Hendrix show at Lynn Auditorium which is near Boston. An all-star lineup of musicians playing Jimi Hendrix songs. They had a group of 15 musicians playing in different combinations. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Marcus King, Devon Allman, Ally Venable and others shredded for over 2 1/2 hours. Highly recommend if you can catch the tour. Next Up is Robin Trower this summer still touring at 80.

CHRIS BOTTI, two weeks ago here in Toronto Terrific! Had 3rd row centrefloor seats right in front of the stage, Then he comes off stage and played in the venue centre aisle only 10’ away right beside me. Going to see IL VOLO in a week’s time live in Niagara Falls. I’ve seen them live before … another great show . Saw DIANA KRALL in Niagara Falls this last November . She was not anywhere near her usual presence and force. Not her finest moment….muted , depressed and something significantly “ off” ….we wondered if she was ill or medicated or stoned. Saw the THE EAGLES live in Toronto a year ago. Sprung for centre stage floors up front in the 9th row from the stage. Well Worth the extravagant price for these legendary rock icons. |
@buellrider97 I saw Collective Soul around 5 years ago. I think I have all of their cds. I also have a Fender Telecaster signed by the original members in 1995. Latest concert was probably Toto. I wasn't a huge Toto fan back in the day. I liked their music, though. They absolutely kicked butt live. Before that was Shinedown and Papa Roach. Excellent concert. |
We have the luxury to see 4 different concerts every night for free, each of the groups normally play at Disneyland/seaworld or over all the attraction centers around the Orlando area. We also have multiple concert houses that bring in the likes of Kansas, Christopher Cross, Pink Floyd tribute bands, etc.. Before this, I attended the big Oracle Openworkd events when I worked and they would hold a concert with multiple acts from Elton John, Aerosmith, seal, Mc and the sunshine band, Billie Joel, journey, and many many more. |
A bunch of great kids playing jazz at a high school. Then the music teachers played the second half and blew the students away. Great night and awesome acoustics. Haven’t gone to a commercial gig since Nick Cave before corona. Gave up paying ticketmaster fees so don’t do the bigger gigs anymore. Bluegrass music festival up in Maine once a year is about it. |
Living close to Orlando Florida & being yearly pass holders for Disney/Epcot we are able to watch mini concerts every weekend in the summer. Kinda outdoors but top covered stage & a good portion of the seated area. We see a lot of bands that are past their prime but will play a few hits they are most known for. I'm down for watching any good musician play live instruments..so I'll watch any band. The one concert that stuck out to me last year was one that I don't even remember the name of..kinda a bluesy latin thing with a killer female vocalist. They put on a show. This year we have people like Don Felder, ELO, Flock of Seagulls, Pointer Sisters, 38 Special, & a lot more I would have to look up. I honestly feel like it's the no-name bands (to me anyway) that always put the extra effort & energy into the music. Last big full concert I went to was Ed Shereen..with that band that wrote Chasing Cars opening for him. Snow Patrol, that's it. The Ed tickets I got for free & he is actually very good Live. I also went to a Blues concert last year..about 4 hours worth of musicians & bands I'd never heard of. About 2 hours of it was good. |
Saw a jazz quintet at a neighborhood book store. The leader was a bass clarinetist, Todd Marcus. All of the musicians had connected at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Great performance. My wife and I sat 10 feet from the musicians. Came home thinking as nice as my system is, it pales in comparison to a live performance. |
Saw Soccer Mommy at a local venue. I haven't really liked going to concerts due to the excessive volume at the concerts and I started to dread going to see her due to that issue. It turned out that she and her band played at a reasonable volume and her stuff sounded really good in concert and she was a very likeable performer. One of the better concerts I've seen in a while. |
