Missing Members

I've noticed that some members who were frequent contributors are no longer active.  For instance, Schubert.  I'm hoping that everyone is in good health.  Any word or comments about other MIAs?

I’ve been wondering about Schubert myself. I figure he may have grown weary of being surrounded by heathen Rock ’n’ Rollers. ;-)

Maybe they got tired of people being banished from this site because they said something and hurt someone's feelsies.

I had actually been wondering where you were until a couple of days ago when I saw you post viridian. I hope Schubert is ok. I have been guilty of teasing him about his myopic taste in music, but he's a good egg.

This site has been way more enjoyable since the purge. It's like a real enthusiast site now!

That is a good one! I wonder if it's really him.

I very well might be confused, but I thought that something might have happened to uberwaltz. Hopefully someone else here can answer that.

Would like to hear some Tektons. Outside of their polorizing looks and size, all I know about them is from Audiogon and I must say that their number one fan boy just ruffles everyone’s feathers to the point where my friends (along with myself) dont even wanna try them.

Guess Tekton figures any pub is good pub

Charcoalchuck=millercarbon. Perhaps not?

I am worry about shubert ... He is not a teen...

Schubert has been posting as Jim5559.

really?

Yes.  On the classical music thread he explained the whole story about the screen name change; I can't remember the details but he had to re-register, hence the new name.

Glad he's still around. To my math he's already overstepped his 80th birthday or even further than that.

Thanks for the heads up on his new moniker as I've always respected his views

He is passionate man... I like that...

I am happy he is there... I did not know that he  was the new jim with whom i was talking...

😊

I hope everyone is ok too.

These past 2 years have been tragic for far too many people.

I doubt whether many of us have not experienced losing someone close to us in that time.

👍 Schubert or whoever he is now.  A guy with a clear moral compass.

Maybe they got tired of people being banished from this site because they said something and hurt someone's feelsies.

Maybe they got sick of short tempers, misunderstandings, and name calling (e.g. the word "feelsies."). Maybe smart people are above that kind of crap.

Whatjd has not posted since January 2021.

He mentioned health issues (VA hospital) a few years back, but I lost his name/contact info (from a purchase here @ A'Gon ages ago) so have been unable to do "the search".

Recently looked up a local audiophile, to see if he wanted to add info to a query here - his email didn't work, and discovered that he passed this last October.

Prior to Covid-19 I used to run into him 1-2 times a month @ the local thrifts (this went on for 20 years).

Whatjd (Jim I think) and Bima were maybe 4-5 years older than I am @ 67.

Maybe smart people can filter out the chaff without resorting to banishing people?

Maybe smart people can filter out the chaff without resorting to banishing people?

I didn't say anything about "banishing." I simply thought they had stopped participating in the forum. Maybe that's another thing that's actually happening. I know some *think* it's happening, but I've not seen evidence that's a fact.

There is only one member who I might support sending on a short vacation but I wont mention him for fear of him thinking he might have made even the slightest impact.

Last I heard, @uberwaltz is fine but taking a voluntary long break from agon.

Good to know! I took a long break myself. There was a hurricane headed his way a while back before he went MIA so I was hoping he was ok.

Years of research and testing reveals a surprising finding...

jjss49, thank you!  That's really funny.

@jjss49 Thanks for a good chortle.

Idea for next project: wire hangers to replace RCA ICs.

Protecting cables from vibration is not a stupid idea ...It is elementary...

But buying that 200 bucks is being rich or lacking minimal craftmanship... 😁😊

Dont throw the baby of "mechanical control" method and device with the ridiculous price tag of a "hanger" used this way...

It is easy to laugh but harder to think....

The stupidest  people are those who throw the baby with the bathwater....Not the one who wash the baby...

For sure all children like cartoon...

I am too old for your child game...

Or too young for premature cartoon senility...

There is three embeddings necessary control installation possible in audio:acoustical, electrical and mechanical...

Stupidity cannot replace reality with a cartoon....

It is not my habit to mock people here but to discuss with them: then with arguments...
