I've noticed that some members who were frequent contributors are no longer active. For instance, Schubert. I'm hoping that everyone is in good health. Any word or comments about other MIAs?
I had actually been wondering where you were until a couple of days ago when I saw you post viridian. I hope Schubert is ok. I have been guilty of teasing him about his myopic taste in music, but he's a good egg.
Would like to hear some Tektons. Outside of their polorizing looks and size, all I know about them is from Audiogon and I must say that their number one fan boy just ruffles everyone’s feathers to the point where my friends (along with myself) dont even wanna try them.
Yes. On the classical music thread he explained the whole story about the screen name change; I can't remember the details but he had to re-register, hence the new name.
He mentioned health issues (VA hospital) a few years back, but I lost his name/contact info (from a purchase here @ A'Gon ages ago) so have been unable to do "the search".
Recently looked up a local audiophile, to see if he wanted to add info to a query here - his email didn't work, and discovered that he passed this last October.
Prior to Covid-19 I used to run into him 1-2 times a month @ the local thrifts (this went on for 20 years).
Whatjd (Jim I think) and Bima were maybe 4-5 years older than I am @ 67.
Maybe smart people can filter out the chaff without resorting to banishing people?
I didn't say anything about "banishing." I simply thought they had stopped participating in the forum. Maybe that's another thing that's actually happening. I know some *think* it's happening, but I've not seen evidence that's a fact.
There is only one member who I might support sending on a short vacation but I wont mention him for fear of him thinking he might have made even the slightest impact.
The irony of this thread is that there is a parallel thread on the tired forum...WBF. This thread asks: "is there a Hi Fi Mafia controlling what we discuss and talk about in Hi Fi?".
Ironic that the WBF forum is controlled by two complete tools who are exactly what is described in the heading of that thread. Any dissenting opinion immediately leads to a banning and some kind of talk down.
Same applies for a number of audio based forums on the web, luckily ( so far) this does NOT apply here.
You must have a verified phone number and physical address in order to post in the Audiogon Forums. Please return to Audiogon.com and complete this step. If you have any questions please contact Support.
