That is interesting because someone already posted a picture of the boxes showing separate purple and gold boxes.
I guess we will find out.

New Synergistic Product: Tuning Discs
I was lucky enough to be asked to try out a prototype of a new Synergistic Research product. For now, I think they are calling it a Tuning disc.
What it looks like is a small wafer (smaller than a dime and is very thin). They are either in gold or purple tops and are attached using some tacking substance. I placed 2 on top of my Shunyata Sigma V2 interconnects.
I wasn’t expecting much but whoa, did these things work! First, I tried the purple on my interconnects and boy did the soundstage widen with lots of air.
Then I tried the gold discs and though the sound stage shrunk perhaps a little but the naturalness of the music was fantastic!
Hard to believe that these things work so well, I am really impressed.

For Information: This entire thread was actually taken down yesterday. I had to request Audiogon to reinstate it. So, we need to be courteous of each other. Its ok to ask questions, heck it's a new product. But don't get personal and keep the comments to this product. Hopefully soon, others can comment on their actual experience, as I have. ozzy |
I find this statement ridiculous. As I have used a number of SR products in systems past and present. These systems were made up of such brands as Moon by Simaudio, McIntosh, Pathos, AR, Gold Note, Bel Canto, Raven, PL, Sonus faber, ..... think you get the gist and the SR products did not make a change for the better or worse in my systems at the time. Not saying they do not work just I did not hear the benefit. Now maybe a system of mid to lo-fi gear would benefit more? I am sure Ted will weigh in but I think the old line of your system is not revealing enough is stereotypical response. Just my opinion no rub on Ted or SR products at all.
Give 'em a try... |
IT’s OK to promote products for free on hifi forums if the rules permit which they seem to do here. Not OK to try to censor responses or tell people what to do or not. Just saying. Take the bad with the good else buy an ad where nobody can protest. Transparency and responding clearly, directly and politely to all questions helps. Just the facts maam.... |
@rsf507 as little as possible on this thread. |
@tommylion I am reluctant to use the aluminum ECTs in areas that can short despite them being anodized. Yes, do not place Carbon Tuning Discs where they will short a circuit. even though they are clearcoated, I would not take the chance. This will be covered in detail with the instructions. BTW are finding that not only do they work extremely well on cables and components, but also the dedicated router in our system. This application made a huge difference yesterday when I was voicing a new rack. Guys out of respect for AudiogoN I will be commenting as little as possible going forward. I do not want to jeopardize @ozzy’s thread. Ted Denney III— Synergistic Research Inc. |
@jjss49 : Synergistic sells via dealers. Not direct. You can check through your dealer, or you can inquire with SR for a dealer near you. In the SR website, there is form you can fill out when you hit “buy” under each product.
I know the following are SR dealers: https://highend-electronics.com/collections/synergistic-research
If you look at the SR page on these new products, it says right there “30 day money back guarantee” :

mahgister, I have been using crystals in my listening rooms for over two decades now, and do not discuss it as it seems too fringe for most. Your research has paralleled mine in that I have found the results can often be negative. It took me years to find some sort of repeatable pattern in their usage. The impacts can be quite profound when applied intelligently. I believe the mechanism at play is the one under discussion at present. |
without getting into the benefits of synergistic’s products (or lack thereof), it is always impressive to me when a manufacturer or their marketer/retailers offers true money back trial periods i think synergistic does this, yes? i went to the site just now, for a quick look, could not find one clearly stated -- maybe i am missing it -- but i has somehow thought such a proper and generous return policy was indeed offered... maybe it is specific by product? not sure perhaps ted can clarify with such a return policy in place, critics should really hold their fire... if they haven’t tried, and a trial is so easy and available, why criticize? |
I already used carbon based shungite from Russia with copper and quartz all along my electrical line...For many years at low cost...I am proud to say that this is my own homade experiments... I dont pretend my "golden plates" best this product at all, i dont know, but at least is less expansive and work for me... i had no problem with this company synergistic products at all but the boss treat me like shit when i wanted to discuss in one of his seller thread...i was menacing his trade it seems in his head...I like to discuss unlike this guy.... And anyway my acoustic method is superior to any electronic equalisation or electronic tuning... AT NO COST... By the way i dont think coal will be usefull...But any minerals , any of them affect the S.Q. put on some point near the audio system but often negatively ... People are too lazy to experiment and prefer to throw money .... Myself i already know that nothing best acoustic anyway even tweaks that work well and which i created or replicate...like my Shuman generators grid...

I drank the synergistic kool-aid. I may not have an ultra megabucks system, but i have gone and listened to plenty of them and i can say with total confidence that my system blows everything else i have heard away. I know that the secret sauce is the SR stuff. My sound is organic, enveloping, lush, detailed and never fatiguing. The stage is perfect. The realism is sometimes startling. Yes, i have great equipment. Yes i have treated my power, my ethernet, my room, etc.. but i know that my system is where i want it because of my ability to Tailor the sound w my sr gear. |
@pesky_wabbit , seems relevant to the topic at hand.....not at all, but OK, you have a personal issue, obviously. All righty, then. :) |
@tommylion yes you can use them inside components, CPU’s or adjacent are effective locations as are transformers, and or a crowded ground point; but don’t over do it. You can even combine a Purple with a Gold disc at two of these locations inside a single component to good effect. Ted Denney III— Synergistic Research Inc. |

Ted has criticised me for being a sock puppet member of an objectivist hit squad left over from his cable wars with Gene from Audioholics. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ted loves to label people, including those with disabilities, as well as delete posts and entire threads in order to cover his tracks. I have never criticised Ted’s products, only his unsavoury behaviour and some of the patent nonsense used in their promotion. If you search my posts you will see that I have called out GeorgeHiFi for his obsessive war on fuses on multiple occasions. If you sell a product and it works, it works, if it doesn’t it doesn’t - let a product stand on its merits alone. Isn’t that what subjectivism is all about? There is no need for pseudo scientific psychobabble invoking the spectres of quantum science and Nikola Tesla to sell a product. The referenced video brings into the mainstream things that have been known in science for decades and is relevant to the discussion at hand. I happen to own several Bybee devices that work the manner described, by interacting with the surrounding electrical field. I have subsequently found these devices to be extremely effective, The improvements they offer has been totally disproportionate to the outlay. The explanation given for their functioning is beyond bizarre, but the point is, they work. |
I am amused by the negativity as well. They are the guys that always have an opinion whether you ask it or not. Its a wonder anybody has made it this far in life without their guidance and wisdom. I wonder if they also dictate to luthier’s on how they build musical instruments? Hell I just listen to music, I can’t sing myself, but I know what I like. |
Angry? A little bit?
If you have a cat or a dog, may I very humbly suggest you put down your keyboard (before you break it), and go pet your cat or dog. It’s soothing

@oldhvymec er Lenny I said I am going to order these things and try them out. My beef with Ted earlier was about the way he treated a member here that is Autistic. You know what I could care less what you think go feed the chickens.

”Wow new product and already we have "naysayers"! New record! How about we stick to talking about the product and NOT label people?”
Naysayers seems like a pretty apt, and polite, way to describe members who, whenever a new thread about certain products is started, are pretty much guaranteed to post dissing the product and company. |
@tommylion The new Carbon Tuning Discs are orders of magnitude more powerful than the now outgoing ECTs. We are really glad you enjoy the ECTs, I hope you and everyone else who own them will continue to enjoy them even though we have finally developed a technology to surpass their benchmark. It only took us five years lol Ted Denney III— Synergistic Research Inc. |
