Your Favorite Christmas Song-One only Please-

Let's hope a great list comes of this thread.

I get to start-

Mariah Carey- All I want for Christmas is You

Leads to my favorite Christmas Movie- Love Actually!

Okay beat that!!

chorus

It's the contrast of Bob's voice with the Ditty Bop backup singers that makes it special.

Roxy,

Heavy metal Christmas R/R Christmas and even Punk Rock Christmas was mentioned here already, but for some reason it doesn't work for you perhaps....

Didn't you know that Christmas isn't only for jazz soul or classical choir??

czarivey,

The way arcticdeth wrote the sentence was not correct, hence my comment.

asctim.

That Dylan song is terrible. It sounds like he's joking.

how in blazes to choose just ONE xmas song??? that’s like trying to choose just one of any other kinda music. that said, i could take the stereo version of the Ronettes’ "sleigh ride" to heaven with me. there is magic there.

New one by John Rich and Mike Rowe:

"Santa's Got a Dirty Job".

On most music platforms, all proceeds go to charity...

Merry Christmas!

Jumping on that bandwagon - so I've given my one choice, but taking a bonus action to endorse:

"All Pentatonix CHRISTmas songs are awesome."

Total +1 to this!

ORIGINAL VERSION of Eagles’ "Please Come Home for Christmas" which was recorded by Charles Brown first.

The "remastered" version is like most "remastered" stuff--not good.

Sexiest video EVER: Same song. Jon Bon Jovi and Cindy Crawford:

Two winners of the genetic lottery, for certain.

Merry Christmas!

Ave Maria - German version with the Venna Boys Choir and London symphony Orchestra.  I'm not sure who the Tenor is but it is awesome.

Great suggestions here 👍

Hard to single out one, but today it’s probably between these for me:

- Pentatonix: Little drummer boy or hallelujah

- Bing: White Christmas

- Elvis (in his prime): Blue Christmas, especially the clever version with Martha Mcbride

probably be something different tomorrow… Happy Christmas season all!

I don't get choked up by that song, but I like it. In my region (Phoenix) they're not playing it on the Christmas station this year.

Lisa Lane with (the ? ) All I Want For Christmas Is You. she just Crushes it . the mariah carey version is offensive to my ears and i can't turn it off quick enough. m2c....

James Taylor at Christmas - Baby it's Cold Outside with Natalie Cole. The whole album is good though.

I believe in Father Christmas by Emerson Lake and Palmer.

It gives me that warm ,cozy ,Christmassy feeling, akin to what I felt as a child.

Greg Lake ‘I Believe In Father Christmas’ (Official Lyrics Video) - YouTube

Back in the late 80’s i wanted to see if i could ’seed’ a song into popular memory. It was early Christmas, and I decided on a Christmas tune. I was on the bus, on my way to college for the day and I started musing and came up with the opening verse. to some degree.

and it did make it out there, apparently. things found to be humorous tend to get around. Likened to how they say the best jokes make it to the president within 48 hours.(back in the day).

I wrote it down and spread it around. and it got out there... and is still alive.

and it went:

Jingle Bells

Santa Smells

Like He’s drinking All His Pay..

He’s running down

To the Reindeer pound

Naked as a Jay, Oh!

etc etc...

- Pentatonix: Little drummer boy or Hallelujah

This gets me every year.

This song is in no way, shape or form, even remotely a Christmas song!

It has zero to do with Christmas!

Nothing!

Zilch!

Now I’ve got to take an aspirin and lie down.

thecarpathian,

Are you deaf? I don't really like Little Drummer Boy and never did, but it is clearly about the mythical boy playing his drum for the infant Jesus. That is a Christmas song.

Um, yeah.

I was talking about the other song.

You know, the one I highlighted?

Unless what you wrote was a joke.

In that case, I was still talking about the other song.
