Try This With Your SS Amp
I live in the Caribbean so I don't need any extra heat, thank you.  I use Class-D amps partially to avoid the waste head.  Cooling is just as expensive as heating and local power generation costs are ridiculous.  I get my tube "fix" via pre-amps....
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
@sls141 love me some Zeppelin, but never did get the stuff between "IV" and "In Through The Out Door".  There is the occasional song, but as a collection these albums are mostly forgettable. What am I missing?

How do you arrange the order of your records?
Gave up "analogue" sources/media back in the 90s but I keep my CD rips and online digital purchases sorted by artist/album, in alphabetical order. Compilation albums are in their own folder, sorted alphabetically by album name. I briefly considere...
Why should audiophile deniers be allowed on an audiophile forum?
The quotation of questionable source that advocates "never learning from people that always agree with you" springs to mind. IMHO audiofoolery and audio myths permeate the industry, but scammers and conmen/women across all walks of life have exis...
What is the Bu-ray plauyer that you are using?
Well.... "using" is probably stretching the truth a bit. I HAVE an Oppo UDP-205. I pair it with a Marantz receiver and a 5.1 speaker rig but despite having a decent Blu-Ray collection, I seldom if ever use it.
I am so happy.....
I am so happy. 'cause today I found my friends, they're in my head...."
After years of separates, I'm going integrated. Anyone else do the same?
I went the opposite route.  I actually started with an integrated system.  Some cheap Japanese junk by Hitachi back in the 80s.  I then got into surround sound and my music playback was via a series of surround sound receivers.  My first "serious"...
Are there speakers that disappear regardless of the recording?
Kef LS50s do exactly that. I have two pairs now in "other" rooms.  My main system uses Canton floor sanders and have their own merits but the LS50s once positioned properly, absolutely do "disappear".  I proved this when I had my kids over testing...
Bought powerful/expensive Amp+Speakers but plan to use an old preamp , am I crazy?
If you doubt the NAD's capability, wait until you have the requisite funds and order an "upgrade" that is returnable. If you can hear a difference go with your preference.  If you chose the NAD and upgradetitis continues to bug you; rinse and repe...
How many systems do you have?
I have three systems.  A "main" system, a bedroom system and a headphone rig.

Desk top speakers at low cost
I also started with a headphone only desktop solution but realized a need for desktop speakers.  I opted for a used pair of LS50s from Accessories4Less.  A bit overkill, yes, but I'm loving this solution.  Sometime later I supplemented the bass wi...
Best Desktop Speakers under $500
If you are willing to stretch the budget just a bit, I recommend used Kef LS50s. I use them to great effect.  They face my kitchen, so do double duty to keep me entertained while I destroy good food.  I see them available now between $600-700.
Free Shipping - Be Careful!
I try to steer clear of USPS whenever possible.  I had one terrible experience where a small but costly item.  Arrived at the post office near me and it's status was "Available for pickup" Then someone picked it up!!!!  I was hung out to dry!  Jus...
