I’m living off Democratic provided money . I think California taxes are high , but I’m free to move away . You missed my point . But I guess I’m just wasting my time . Just grew up in a great part of the San Fernando Valley where posers need not apply. Practically 100% white boy on white boy crime. No minorities to blame, no lost cause to fight for. Conversations like these on this thread would never have happened. Our dads actually went to a real war (WWII) so we grew up with that mentality. Don't forget it was some jerk who said I wouldn't say what I say if face to face, implying cowardice. What I related is the fact that that's not the case. You are you generationally removed, with no appreciation for the past. Like I said, conversations like this wouldn’t last 5 seconds with all the winter soldiers we have here. @nonoise , Please stop the hate . I was the person that lived the life of turbulence . In the 80’s I was 6’1” and 230 lbs., took performance enhancing drugs and used stimulants and pain killers to help me go . I took a law enforcement job, and became an instructor. I taught baton, weaponless defense, chemical agents , taser. I am proficient in edged weapons and small arms , including class III. I’ve ridden Harleys since 74’ and I still ride . I’ve been in more fights than I can remember . Today I am 6 years retired having received multiple concussions, 4 fractured vertebrae, 2 ribs , torn tendons in my hand and foot . I had a total right hip replacement. Today I have 4 herniated discs and stenosis. I am in chronic pain , and have a PTSD diagnosis that is recognized by my former employer. Today I’ve done years of counseling, have 30 years clean and sober and employ a therapy dog . You continue to insult people with terms like “ Snowflake “,Idiot and “ Nazi “. You have made veiled accusations numerous times in other threads including hinting that someone behaved like a child molester . My joys in life today are my dog, my bicycle , and my stereo . Most days I can only stand for a few hours and walk no more than a few blocks . But I can ride my bicycle for hours and listen to my stereo . So this site is linked to one of my few pleasures and you and your kind fill it with politics and hate . All your discord is done via a computer. I’ve fought with people that are on death row at San Quinton and doing long stretches in CDC and Federal Prisons . I didn’t get this broken by watching others like you did . In prison there are people that talk smack through the bars. They’re called “ Window Warriors “. I did all the dirty stuff for “ The Good Guys “. Self-praise is no recommendation nonoise. Yeah, we get it. You're so tough you probably rust. A legend in your own mind. The older you get the better you were. This is not a safe place, I know that. Is any online forum a safe place from smug self-promoters? Sadly, no. I'd wager that there are far more people who have joined and left this site due to the smarmy snarking and sniping that goes on, than are still members. That's a shame. I'm here to learn and maybe contribute something worthwhile, which is rare as there are way more learned contributors than me on here. You're just not one of them. |
Just read the book 'Fantasyland' by Kurt Andersen....that should be required reading for Devilboy. Bezos is the poster-child for everything that's wrong with corporate power/influence, but there's no doubt he's brilliant. Amazon employees (all employees, actually) need to be treated as flesh and blood humans, not programmable automatons. Private space travel will have great appeal until the first fatal accident - if NASA wasn't immune to those, the private sector probably won't be either. |

'Interesting trivia', discovered later: -Head cheerleader liked to do so on LSD -Quiet bookish guy that many disparaged was the school dealer of same. -In my drafting class, one idiot attacked another with a T-square. -Another (same class) managed to spill an entire gallon of ammonia while trying to refill the blueprint processor...took a week to kill the stench.. -One talented individual made a really nice aluminum battleax in metalshop...polished blade, knurled handle, all on the sly/discrete... Then was idiot enuff to show off the results on campus in broad daylight, when it was confiscated and he was expelled.... 'Course, this was in Long Beach vs. San Fran Valley....'Iowa by the Sea' had different smog levels so we could only see the 'mountains' betwixt only after a good rain... The principal chided the families during graduation for cheering their kids' name being called (thankful no doubt that Teddy actually got the rag before being sent off to 'Nam...perhaps to return 'schooled' in a real bloodsport and subject to nightscreams....) Luckily 4F by a fluke and a surgeon with 5 sons and allowed to seek a different path in life.... Any traumas, tribulations, trials, and any abject stupidity I've had to deal with have been my own and not by that of others... Had a work mate once comment that I was 'the sanest person he knew or known of...' "You don't know many people, do you?" (A lot better by the way...ask around) Then it was break out the fainting couches and clutch your pearls! My god, he’s talking back! If you don’t feel comfortable confronting a troll online, maybe knitting is your next move. I had a Nazi biker (a Vago) move in next door to my dads and had a pushing contest with the creep. As a kid, the guy down the street that I used to play with grew up to be the president of the Lynchmen- 4 Corners, back in the San Fernando Valley. They’d drag victims to death with their cars. Students that transferred to my high school were stabbed in the main office while registering. When the coaches tried to stop a fight, the students would stuff them under the lunch tables and continue fighting. This was with all white dudes. You were either a surfer, a greaser or a lowrider. I was neither but happened to live down the street by some lowriders so they had my back. I’m not saying I’m a badass. Far from it. I’m small in stature and never really fought anyone but my brothers. But to put up with this juvenile crap is tiring. Tell you what, the next time some jerk post his crap, say something. You’ll feel a lot better for it and the more they hear it, the odds are they’ll shut up and stick to audio. According to the numbers, (supposedly 81 million votes), Joe Biden is the single most popular human being who ever lived. Rotflmao. Let’s be real. Everyone knows that Joe simply doesn’t have the mental capacity to last another 3 1/2 years. His attempt to try to resemble a man with some degree of cognitive ability and mental acuity is embarrassing and quite frankly sad to watch. That leaves us cackling Kamela. The awkward laughs and verbal diarrhea coming out of her mouth every time she speaks makes her highly undesirable and very unpopular amongst the people. Even the Left know that it would be nearly impossible for them to pull off a theft in 2024 with her at the top of the ticket. |

If I wasn’t mistaken, it’s almost as if you are mounting the "Otter defense" from Animal House ("I’m not gonna stand by and let you denigrate ’vets and apple pie’"). mikeydred shows his ignorance touting Bezos as a member of the DNC because he gave $100 million to Jose Andres and Van Jones to give to charities they felt could help out with hunger, poverty and education, which doesn't make them the DNC. It was meant to completely side step such bureaucracies. Most likely, the recipients will be in dirt poor red states who rely on welfare from the rest of us. Bezos' first political donation was in 2018 when he gave $10 million to With Honor, a PAC for getting vets involved in politics. Right wing news sources are the poster child of gossiping fish wives.
