The stereo sounds fine, music is great, but Jeff Bezos came back to earth.

Oh well, 2 out of three ain't bad.

I'm waiting for that variation on a Twilight Zone episode where his doppelgänger comes back and he's the nicest, most generous person imaginable and the one we know is a working in a warehouse in some hellscape.

All the best,
Nonoise
Nonoise just butt-hurt that this $100 million Biden donor and DNC mouthpiece (Washington Post Owner) revealed himself to be the transparent and terrible person he is before the whole world.......Then frantically tries to hijack the thread in order to make it about Trump....
@three_easy_payments
But that was measured with an Amazon ruler that only has 11in per foot.
What’s really rich (besides bezos) is that you don’t hear any of the bleeding heart, leftist environmentalists screaming about all the fuel burned by this joy ride. They want to regulate cow farts but it’s fine to expel all those dangerous carbon emissions as long as it’s by a billionaire who donates to their platform.

Double standard much???…….
Isn’t this the same clown that lectures about the dangers of global warming and carbon footprints? Ironic.

I see what you did there.....cherry picked two of Bezos’ lesser political donations (van Jones....yeah, nothing political about that former Obama political advisor.......lol) and tried to make it seem as if those were Bezos’ only donations......sheesh. If I wasn’t mistaken, it’s almost as if you are mounting the "Otter defense" from Animal House ("I’m not gonna stand by and let you denigrate ’vets and apple pie’"). As predicted, when push came to shove and despite all your attempts at misdirection above, you eventually would default towards the owner of the DNC enabling Washington Post and his millions.

well, what started out as a fun read soon ended up in the toilet, thanks to the usual suspects.
From afar, it seems that anyone can still be the prez of the US. As long as you have billion dollar backing and no morals.
You guys have Democrats and Republicans. We have Liberals and Labor.
For both countries the choice comes down to - what do I want to suffer from for the next 3 years, ticks or fleas?
The Bezos jaunt was all about, imo, getting a satellite up there for either an internet offer or drone delivery control. Or both.
It is sad that the best pick was Biden/Harris...
Hold on tight, I can feel the toilet bowl flush...

ozzy
According to the numbers, (supposedly 81 million votes), Joe Biden is the single most popular human being who ever lived.

Rotflmao.

Let’s be real. Everyone knows that Joe simply doesn’t have the mental capacity to last another 3 1/2 years. His attempt to try to resemble a man with some degree of cognitive ability and mental acuity is embarrassing and quite frankly sad to watch.
That leaves us cackling Kamela. The awkward laughs and verbal diarrhea coming out of her mouth every time she speaks makes her highly undesirable and very unpopular amongst the people. Even the Left know that it would be nearly impossible for them to pull off a theft in 2024 with her at the top of the ticket.
Will i be able to use Schittcoin to buy my ticket to the moon on scamazon if i'm not a member of scamazon slime?

I wonder if nonoise and devilboy would say their tripe to each other or other people in a face to face meeting.

I suspect not.
I try to speak to people on line as though they were a 200lb cage fighter who lives next door.
Try it guys, for everyone’s sake.

A question:
Why would either side not have respect for an opposing view? Can there only be one correct belief or opinion?
😏...well, consider that it took Jeff longer to 'get it up' than Elon...

...and SpaceX way bigger, too....;)

Oh, pardon.  Size doesn't matter....

Another great demonstration of 'money doesn't talk, it swears'...

Nonoise, I can identify with your HS 'experience' except for my school was extremely lame.  Had the 3 'social groups' mentioned plus the 'jocks' who'd swagger about but could only win one football game.  And generally only in the start of the season....

'Interesting trivia', discovered later:
-Head cheerleader liked to do so on LSD
-Quiet bookish guy that many disparaged was the school dealer of same.
-In my drafting class, one idiot attacked another with a T-square.
-Another (same class) managed to spill an entire gallon of ammonia while trying to refill the blueprint processor...took a week to kill the stench..
-One talented individual made a really nice aluminum battleax in metalshop...polished blade, knurled handle, all on the sly/discrete...

Then was idiot enuff to show off the results on campus in broad daylight, when it was confiscated and he was expelled....

'Course, this was in Long Beach vs. San Fran Valley....'Iowa by the Sea' had different smog levels so we could only see the 'mountains' betwixt only after a good rain...

The principal chided the families during graduation for cheering their kids' name being called (thankful no doubt that Teddy actually got the rag before being sent off to 'Nam...perhaps to return 'schooled' in a real bloodsport and subject to nightscreams....)

Luckily 4F by a fluke and a surgeon with 5 sons and allowed to seek a different path in life....

Any traumas, tribulations, trials, and any abject stupidity I've had to deal with have been my own and not by that of others...

Had a work mate once comment that I was 'the sanest person he knew or known of...'

"You don't know many people, do you?"  (1st comment)

On consideration, "Cancel that...you know enough already..." *sigh, chuckle*
Whiteys on the moon, thanks for that! And we know Jeff and Richard Branson will come back as changed men, the infinitesimal man in the universe thing, mass world improvement right around the corner. Such enlightenment has never been observed. Lets have a parade!
I predict this thread will be gone soon enough, all the nuance of Whitey on the Moon lost by tired old tripes of left vs right. Such enlightenment has never been observed. See, I told you the Bezos and Branson flights would bring about world peace.
Hooray for nonoise!! I'm with you all the way!!

And you are somehow proud of this?
...Bezos 'n Branson 'n Musk...Oh, F....*L*

Step right up....selling world pieces @ disconcerted prices......
If I had that kind of financial power I would do exactly the same thing. Go Jeff!

@nonoise , do us all a favor and move to Cuba. I'm sure you can find a demented old politician to support down there.
Some people never learn. They even go so far as to think this site is their safe place, where they can say the most ugly and ridiculous things and not account for the offense they give.
Trembling little snowflakes who want to censor everyone who'd dare disagree with them and project those shortcomings onto others.
This is not your safe place. It's shared by all. Let that sink in.

All the best,
Nonoise
Just read the book 'Fantasyland' by Kurt Andersen....that should be required reading for Devilboy. Bezos is the poster-child for everything that's wrong with corporate power/influence, but there's no doubt he's brilliant. Amazon employees (all employees, actually) need to be treated as flesh and blood humans, not programmable automatons. Private space travel will have great appeal until the first fatal accident - if NASA wasn't immune to those, the private sector probably won't be either.
Several times a week I write replies to posts and delete them.

Hope you all have a great afternoon!
I tire VERY quickly of the hijinks of billionaires.

Not sure if Branson is yet a billionaire, but both he & Bezos got on my last nerve in recent weeks...
Self-praise is no recommendation nonoise.
Yeah, we get it. You're so tough you probably rust. A legend in your own mind. The older you get the better you were.

This is not a safe place, I know that. Is any online forum a safe place from smug self-promoters? Sadly, no.
I'd wager that there are far more people who have joined and left this site due to the smarmy snarking and sniping that goes on, than are still members. That's a shame.

I'm here to learn and maybe contribute something worthwhile, which is rare as there are way more learned contributors than me on here.

You're just not one of them.

@nonoise , Please stop the hate . I was the person that lived the life of turbulence . In the 80’s I was 6’1” and 230 lbs., took performance enhancing drugs and used stimulants and pain killers to help me go . I took a law enforcement job, and became an instructor. I taught baton, weaponless defense, chemical agents , taser. I am proficient in edged weapons and small arms , including class III.  I’ve ridden Harleys since 74’ and I still ride . I’ve been in more fights than I can remember . Today I am 6 years retired having received  multiple concussions, 4 fractured vertebrae, 2 ribs , torn tendons in my hand and foot . I had a total right hip replacement. Today  I have 4 herniated discs and stenosis. I am in chronic pain , and have a PTSD diagnosis that is recognized by my former employer.  Today I’ve done years of counseling, have 30 years clean and sober and employ a therapy dog . You continue to insult people with terms like “ Snowflake “,Idiot  and  “ Nazi “. You have made veiled accusations numerous times in other threads including hinting that someone behaved like a child molester . My joys in life today are my dog, my bicycle , and my stereo . Most days I can only stand for a few hours and walk no more than a few blocks . But I can ride my bicycle for hours and listen to my stereo . So this site is linked to one of my few pleasures and you and your kind fill it with politics and hate . All your discord is done via a computer. I’ve fought  with people that are on death row at San Quinton and doing long stretches in CDC and Federal Prisons . I didn’t get this broken by watching others like you did . In prison there are people that talk smack through the bars. They’re called “ Window Warriors “. I did all the dirty stuff for “ The Good Guys “. But now I’m 64 years old , worn out , and just want to hear positive stuff . So please stop the Bravado and Hate . And what does “ All the Best “ mean after you blast someone? Mike B ,

I’d prefer it if he took a bunch of his equally progressive friends with him and then disappeared.
@nonoise , I registered as a Democrat in 1975 when I turned 18. I’m not “ On A Side “. I was a Union member at 16. I get a union pension , a law enforcement pension and social security. I’m living off Democratic provided money . I think California taxes are high , but I’m free to move away .  You missed my point . But I guess I’m just wasting my time . Let’s try something constructive, I like classic Rock , what do you enjoy listening to ? Yes I’m being serious. I love you and you can’t do anything about it . ❤️
@buellrider97,
I didn't miss anything and directly addressed you points, but so be it.

As for classic rock, I'm not that big a fan anymore. Used to love some of it ( The Doors, The Who, Rolling Stones) but I was into ELP before I liked the Beatles. ELP, Yes and King Crimson led to Walter Carlos and that soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange, which led to classical.

That led to jazz like Weather Report (saw them at the Roxy, right up front, in Jaco Pastorios' face), and then back to stuff like Gentle Giant, Genesis and others. Next thing you know it's The Cure, The Clash, the Punk scene and then mostly nothing.

For the past decade, or so, it's been European jazz, world music and strangely, pop music like Billie Eilish (who I find very amusing and talented). Oh, and I can't forget a favorite fallback, movie soundtracks.

I feel better now. Thanks for the diversion.

All the best,
Nonoise

After all that, those who attacked keep on deleting, creating their own narrative. A sorry bunch, indeed. Anyone who cared to lecture me have anything to say about what just happened?

Thought not.

All the best,
Nonoise

Jeff Bezos.
The guy who approved of mail in voting for the US general election, but was fiercely against it for the voting of unionization of his plant in Georgia.
Why? well he said mail in voting invites fraud.

Interesting guy this Jeff Bezos
Thanks , I’ll have to check out your Jazz selections. I went to the origins of rock next . I listened to everything on the Aligator label . I grew up playing piano and enjoyed King Crimson and ELP . I really enjoyed John Lord in Deep Purple . My brother also grew up with classic rock playing guitar and drums . He gravitated towards drummers like Gene Krupa . So I get an ear full of his stuff . I had Coffee a few years back with the gentleman who founded Sound Stage , he was a tunnel rat in Vietnam. He shared a bunch of his experiences from SF in the 60’s , it was great . He told me music saved his life by keeping him grounded and restoring his sanity . That’s what music does for me . BTW I went to a high school in Fresno that was rough like yours . Those WW II people were the best America ever had .
