PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
If you already own one or more PURONs, you have come to appreciate them.. Imagine the possibilities, when you are no longer limited to plugging something into a receptacle, in order to hear further benefits...
PURON RESOLVE is a new product that is roughly the size of an outstretched hand, 7x4x1. It offers the same exceptional properties as the PURON plug-in filter. Some applications may include: over or inside components, cables, and inside the circuit breaker box.
The effects of PURON RESOLVE are noticeable and immediate, They absolutely compliment the PURON plug-in filters. Now, without the need for a wall receptacle or power conditioner, the sound of recorded music can be customized to new levels.
@hilde45 - Nice, pass the Shimmer please, I need some for my butterscotch pudding! Regarding PURON RESOLVE, I am finding it hard to even find any information about it. There is a YouTube video but Underwood HiFi, a popular Puron dealer, doesn't appear to carry it yet, and even a Posi+ive Feedback review of the Puron AC Power Conditioner from from this month doesn't mention the Resolve. There have been a number of these "set it on top" type products over the years (including bags of crystals, Shakti Stones, and more) and I have yet to see any of them really stand the test of time. I would like to understand exactly what the Puron Resolve does, and how. Maybe magnets? It would be nice if the manufacturers of this stuff would explain "how" they actually work instead of the one-dimensional SOP of creating expectation bias by hyping the supposed fantastic outcomes that will undoubtedly result from using their product. |

@mitch2 |
@barts I heard those carbon fiber switch plate covers are a game changer. Ever wonder why there is so much skepticism tied to this hobby? |
Wonder if their systems are resolving enough, for them to make out the difference. The Puron filters make audible changes in your system, as I found out. BTW, as science has proved it many times over, not everyone hears the same. These folks must not be among the others who can make out differences in slight changes. |
Clearly there's some skepticism here. Too skeptical? Let's recall what the OP said: "Imagine the possibilities" This product may do some good. For some systems. But it's sure as heck being over-hyped. That's why people are skeptical. I mean, if it's a good product, why over-hype it? Common sense reaction. |
@hilde45 I think the OP’s post was at worst over-hyped, or at best over-enthusiastic. However some of the responses are no different from the cable naysayers that have never tried the cable they condemn. There is nothing wrong with a healthy dose of skepticism, but an uninformed opinion is worthless. |
@macg19 Agreed @macg19 Agreed @audioman58 Product is not even out. @chocaholic Maybe you need try a Puron Filter if your gear is revealing. @hilde45 If you tried any of Marks products? @lpretiring So what changed?

Not sure exactly what you mean but nothing has changed. I have always been open to new ideas and products as well as components. If a supplier offers a money back trial period, that makes exploring the potential benefit even more enticing. I then use my own ears to hopefully and accurately determine if said product brings me closer to the music be it a component or new possible technology. LP |
There's no doubt that it was. I also agree with you that naysaying without experience is worthless. My point is simply that over-hyping a product which is already liable to provoke skepticism is going to cement a lot of skepticism and prevent people from trying the product. That's why the old SNL skit about floorwax/dessert topping is funny. |
@lpretiring This is your post? Now and then.
|
Yes, I saw this post the first time you referenced it. If your concern is why did I have an issue with an early Puron? I spent seven months experimenting with these devices. At that early stage adding another to a specific location improved clarity and focus but was detrimental in soundstage center fill. There were reasons unrelated to the Puron device that I experienced that result. If your concerned about the discontinuation of the HF MC 0.5's, that would be because while finding them beneficial they also had a affect that I found somewhat unnatural. After a while I found a better option and stopped using the MC 0.5. I visit this forum to acquire audio knowledge, receive some entertainment, and share the experiences I believe might be helpful to other members of like mindedness. I find this exchange neither beneficial or entertaining. I notice that the vast majority of your posts are negative and confrontational. I see no reason to continue this particular exchange, but congratulations on your one-week membership...you're off to a great start.

@lpretiring Oh on the contrary just like to understand where one is coming from when they contradict themselves, found this to quite entertaining. Like most. These upgrades would have no doubt been more beneficial on a better system. |
Good Grief Fuse Box above

No. I have not (yet) tried any of these devices, although the Puron intrigues me, even more so that I have yet to see them popping up in the used ePay or usual used audio component sales sites. They either work, work well enough to keep, or are so embarrassingly useless they get relegated to the box o’ junk that will one day be sold at the audiophile’s estate sale for pennies on the dollar. The Swiss Digital Fuse Box came up again in this thread and I - being a skeptic, medical science trained as I am - have to ask the question NOBODY has thought to mention: why use a slug at all? Just unsolder and BYPASS the actual fuse slot, socket, clips, clamp or solder pads. Using the SDFB already voids mfr warranty and UL/CPSC laws - IIRC - so what’s the difference? How should a “SLUG” infused with gold, fairy dust or unicorn farts work any better than JUST the power cable itself into the IEC socket (and are the prongs in IT gold or fairy-dust infused as well?) then directly into the transformer or whatever circuit its feeding. Inserting anything into a signal pathway reduces its efficiency and introduces “noise” potential. Not sorry. My eyes are just a little more open today - Leap Day - as I peruse the posts here and around the innerwebs. This willful suspension of disbelief and skepticism seems to be David Hannum’s maxim writ large. FWIW. YMMV. Spend it if you got it. |
Cause many people don’t want to take the component apart, or know how to solder properly, and/or want to preserve resale value. Logically and scientifically it makes sense that a thick piece of copper is more efficient than a thin piece of wire designed to add resistance. |
Dude literally responds with “we stand behind the puron conditioner” over and over…. A completely different product
what does THIS product do and how does it work? you know, in commodities i bought a lot of shelled pistachios below market price and the quality was fantastic. Was very skeptical but he came though. the next time? He sent garbage. Got roped in with the first and scammed with the second. He even sent fake batch samples and then disappeared
you cant keep replying to everything with “well we have the puron conditioner” okay congrats? We want to know about resolve. instead of “just stick it wherever in your chain and watch your system transform… trust me bro. Okay but what is it, how does it work?! “Bro we has the puron conditioner” this might be the worst thread ive ever read on audiogon

@questforhifi I have several of the Puron conditioners and 3 of the swiss digital fuse boxes. They have had a a very positive impact on my system. I'm sure you realize there isn't an objective measuring system for these type of products, so I'm not sure what you want. The lack of these devices on the resale market speaks volumes, in my estimation. But, you could do something outrageous and try one. You can send it back if you don't like it. @normb The different metallic combinations in the sluggos make it possible to "tune" your devices. It is amazing to me the difference between copper, bronze, rhodium and the composite sluggos. |
