Someone had my earlier post asserting the vaccine saves lives in response to a prior disparaging post removed. I don’t really care as long as the original disparaging remark that might cost more lives if taken to heart, not save them, was removed too. Didn’t bother to look. Just saying.
About users with hidden agendas
If you know that a user is a dealer and they fail to disclose and attacks other users because they make a point against their interest, do you expose the user?
I know of a gentleman here that continuously posts and goes after people and does not disclose who he is.
What are the ethics of this forum?
Lol no doubt @mahgister got someone's attention. |
As one who has respect for science and all manner of measurements, I am surprised and dismayed at this revelation. To be objective means to me to be dispassionate about the preferences of others and to respect the right to speak freely. Not having had the opportunity to have read anywhere all of the numerous deleted threads I query whether there was perhaps some other matter of substance which caught the attention of those wishing to burn the threads. I am sad that Audiogon mods/admin chose to burn the threads rather than simply close the discussion because there were some really super and educational posts/tangents.. Now gone. The lowest common denominator rules. |
I never ask for any removing of any post...I hate censorhip with all my bone... I removed ONLY some few of my posts because they offend someone...And i prefer to do so... All audiogon would not be censored at all if i was the boss...I dont say that to critic the site moderator at all but to express my opinion... No one is in others shoes...Save God... And i am not sure that God is in our shoes either...I think so, but i will wait after my death to verify... Experimental theology... 😁😊 |
Ted wanted to cover his tracks, and as thread OP he got to decide if they were permanently deleted. One thread I remember was really funny - he got on the bandwagon about simplifying systems, when the 4th poster remarked that it was all a bit much coming from somebody who owned a company that sold nothing but tweaks. Needless to say that was the last post - thread closed. |
Can't we just end the back and forth pettiness and agree with the OP that posters who own a company selling audio products or are promoting one should make it clear either in their name or their signature? Except cars.....there is a nice correlation between auto and audio enthusiasts. It seems to emerge when the subject of car audio (blech) comes up. |
people are apparently mad at ted denney, who is open about what he's selling, for daring to ask questions like "would you prefer a system that sounds great, or a system that measures well?" others are apparently addicted to making every last topic in audio about miller carbon. i don't get it guys. who cares |
Post removed |
probably more irritated than mad, maybe disappointed…
more likely for starting threads intended to gravitate toward support for the types of products he sells, and then denigrating other members and throwing out rude suppositions about the quality of someone’s system affecting the validity of their opinions
can’t help you there, the man’s legend apparently survives his departure
finally, we agree |
@pesky_wabbit We all deserve an opportunity to acknowledge that we were wrong, comment on what we learned and apologize to those we did wrong to. @ted_denney, probably and sadly, will not take the opportunity to acknowledge any of it. Now he is saying he did not delete his threads? It is suspicious to me, but at the same time is time for focusing on more fun things, like listening to my recently NHB-458 upgraded to NHB-468 before I fly back on Friday to the USA for a couple of weeks to connect my new Pathos Heritage, AvantGrade DuoXD and AS Montana TT. To be frank, I whish him the best. It is never to late to learn, maybe he will. |

It cannot be done. Once you start a thread and people respond, it is enshrined until AudiogoN says otherwise. But please, show us how it’s done. Take some screenshots showing how you delete a thread with multiple responses. Post them here. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I’ve deleted a few. Everyone has the ability to delete their own post or complete threads, with or without responses. Just look you’ll see. Discussions started and click it. You will see the tool wheel to the side of the one you want to get rid of. Click it. You can’t edit the topic or header unless there are no post and a time frame (I think.) BUT you can delete the whole thread. You’ll see a pic of a (home) / ted_denney / discussions. Just like the new path for NTFS/file directories. Easy peasy Mr ted_denney. Regards |
Perhaps they should have tried a teleprompter? Did they ever hide him in his basement, by any chance?
Ironically none of the agendas are hidden. Oh, it becomes apparent soon enough, true statement.

Ivor was a little on the assertive side for the suggestions you proposed trolley and a hockey mask, perhaps. had a thing going about digital watches impacting sound quality, and got really pissed off in a demo once when a guy behind him secretly removed a jacket to reveal an armful of watches that he failed to detect |
Noob-Spring on alligator shoe can put bounce back into step. |
@pesky_wabbit i am following the discussion but not closely - i see lots of posts have been removed every time i check in. but my comment describes a general trend i've noticed over the past month or two across a range of different threads @mitch2 glad we agree 🤝🍻 i guess i just don't understand the stakes here. if i didn't like somebody on the internet, i would simply ignore them. for the récord i'm not judging anybody, there are worse ways to spend one's time. anyway, back to listening (and work...smh)

I've been a member of this site since 2006 and have seen all kinds of posters come and go. There have always been individuals making money by guiding conversations, pitching products, and placing their contact information in threads. I've been contacted through PM by owners, distributers, and dealers. This is the great land of warm calling. Granted the site was created to sell used gear, so they likely get a buyer that wants a discount, but the audio forums are cash cows, and I'm sure must be a part of the marketing plan for many in the business. The reality is many users do not like being pitched, and clearly observe the behaviors and patterns. Many users are supporting their "friends" too. It never seemed to be the intent of the forum in the good old days and things change. There is no shortage of people to call out this behavior, and it must be more difficult for the people in this industry to navigate the rough waters, as seen here live this morning. I feel like a Zoom meeting is in order! |
http://imgur.com/gallery/jxCIZ48 No option to delete threads. The same people dog piling in this discussion, are the users with hidden identities and not so hidden agendas. High End audio is all about the subjective enjoyment of our systems, that’s what this hobbies is about for most of us. But for the objectivist mob, High End Audio is about mocking and ridiculing real audiophiles, anyone who has spent any time here understands what I’m talking about. And we can see the bad actors here plain as day. I will be posting screenshots of emails of my threads being taken down by AudiogoN mods so yet again, the objectivist mob is wrong.

https://imgur.com/gallery/2twcxSL AudiogoN deleating threads (click link) as users with a not so hidden agenda continue their campaign of disinformation and deflection. |
If I knew you and were your friend, I would try and take your shovel away. You really should stop digging and try a restart. As a manufacturer representing your products, you are not doing yourself any favors. You would be better off educating the folks here by explaining how you developed the products you sell and how they can help improve the sound of the reader's systems. Not everyone would buy in, and some would certainly share opposing points of view, but it would be way more interesting and productive than the painful train-wreck this has become. |
@mitch2 while I appreciate your kind tone, you’re one of the ones that tends to attack unless a simplistic numerical answer is given to a complex subjective observation. The purpose of my threads was to get people to think, as well as establish a consensus which I have done, most people agree it’s what our stereos sound like, and not the measurements, that matter most. At no time was I pushing my products, but rather, making it obvious the fallacies inherent in the objectivist approach. As for the lies about me taking down my threads, this is false as I have proven with the links above. |
How many millenia do you need to understand that yes the subjective impression is the end judge, this is ONLY a common place fact, BUT the PROCESS to CORRELATE electronical and electrical measures in a designing process is necessary and more than that the ACOUSTICAL process of fine tuning a room need a continuous CORRELATION between our ears/brain and the OBJECTIVE acoustic content measures and size of the devices in the room... ? It is what i did myself in my "silly" room, whose photos were your only argument to discredit what i called Helmholtz method... Ad hominem attack.... The fact that you refused to adress this and go on opposing subjectivist against objectivist push the same stupid ideological audio useless and completely wrong war for MARKETING REASON... You stir a pot and try to ridiculize me my friend and that i cannot accept it instead of arguments... Subjectivist and objectivist division made no sense whatsoever... Subjectivist sit on their ass listening their system and judging it good for their taste WITHOUT never adressing the process of correlating their acoustical perceptions with the OBJECTIVE content of the room.. They idolized their costly gear and tweaks and toys too much... Objectivist measure a dac for example and declare it good or bad WITHOUT ever recognizing the huge power over our impression of the room acoustic and without recognizing in our own knowledge our very limitation about the known relation between electrical measures and acoustical measures and correlated acoustic perceived SUBJECTIVE impression...They idolized their measuring tools too much... Objectivist and subjectivist are two groups created by market conditioning... And you go on with that for your own marketting reason ... Simple... Educating people is not the same as selling a device... Acoustic principle are the key to audio not the gear and the tweaks ONLY and MAINLY... No need to answer this post of mine, like usual post my virtual page... 😁😊😊😊😊 Make a fool of yourself....
