About users with hidden agendas

If you know that a user is a dealer and they fail to disclose and attacks other users because they make a point against their interest, do you expose the user?

I know of a gentleman here that continuously posts and goes after people and does not disclose who he is.

What are the ethics of this forum?

my question is, how can i become a paid shill? i would love to get free/heavily discounted equipment just for posting "this is it. the one. you guys gotta try it" 20x a day. my kids are still little and ive got a mortgage, most of the time i just can’t afford the stuff you guys are always on about

more seriously, i do personally suspect that the problem of shilling and this type of thing is a little overstated in general - in so many forums i see 'subjectivists' and measurements freaks alike losing their composure, more or less constantly, because they see "hidden agendas" everywhere they look. in my view the overwhelming majority of people who frequent these types of forums are basically normal, reasonable people who share a fun hobby. that's not to say you don't have bad actors from time to time, but seems like they're relatively few and far between. just my .02

just inked my first deal with some serious players in the industry...audio precisión analyzers...maybe you've heard of them. anyway i will be subjecting all sorts of high quality equipment that i can't afford to a playlist of test tones i found on qobuz, to prove that you alls ears don't work and end these absurd debates once and for all. dm me if you want to send me your gear

@thyname i am just kidding around, trying to have a little fun online. if i had AP analyzer money i'd have 1) no ap analyzer and 2) a much nicer system

people are apparently mad at ted denney, who is open about what he's selling, for daring to ask questions like "would you prefer a system that sounds great, or a system that measures well?" others are apparently addicted to making every last topic in audio about miller carbon. i don't get it guys. who cares

@pesky_wabbit i am following the discussion but not closely - i see lots of posts have been removed every time i check in. but my comment describes a general trend i've noticed over the past month or two across a range of different threads

@mitch2 glad we agree 🤝🍻

i guess i just don't understand the stakes here. if i didn't like somebody on the internet, i would simply ignore them. for the récord i'm not judging anybody, there are worse ways to spend one's time. anyway, back to listening (and work...smh)
