Pass....Accuphase....or......
I drove mine with a few different amps, the Luxman M800 was probably the most solid with them. That was 60/120. The 590 was okay the 550AXII for low levels. You need to hear a few amps and align with your preferences and circumstances. I’ve had a ...
Pass....Accuphase....or......
It's almost like a Harbeth in the sense that it's not likely to offend you. That said, you don't want cheap power either, cause that will show.
Pass....Accuphase....or......
I had the Parsifal Encore and they like to have some power 18wpc won't show you the potential of these speakers. You can also get something with a bit of bit as they are naturally pretty laid back. The Luxman rec is good but after owning Luxman a...
cary audio sli 80 signature vs willsenton r800i
I can only share my experience with the Willenson R8 which is KT88 and EL34. I'd say you get what you pay for. The R8 used is like $1000 and that's what it sounds like. It couldn't compete with the Mastersound, AudioNote, Leben, Luxman tube amps I...
Who is Roon?
I was an early adopter but I wish it had more features. Their support reminds me of chat rooms when I was in college in the early 90's. Roon radio always seems to end up playing the same songs over and over.  I don't know of anything better so I ...
$1,500 Amp budget - Best options?
@ozzy62 yes, he's probably listing his 2002 Stereophile amp of the year. Bet it's been bench tested, good as new, no original box!
Zu Audio Union 6 Supreme
@karl_desch I'm interested in learning more about the weight of these speakers. I tried the standard Union and felt them to be a bit thin without out using "loudness" on the Leben or Luxman I was using. I also found them to lack a bit of clarity. ...
Who positions their speakers straight ahead (zero tow in) and why.
It depends on room boundaries and distance from the speakers. After that it comes down to preference and maybe hearing in the end. Upbringing after that.
Klipsch Cornwall IV and Luxman Integrated
@oceanandmountains Same to you! So when the rubber meets the road the Cornwall IMO was the speaker to be made. Kind of the same way the O/96 was meant to be made. As the product fills the market, lower cost items are introduced out of necessity to...
What exactly is PRaT???
Well I’m no monk but I recently put together a Harbeth and Naim system. I can say this combination did something in the ’feel’ sense that I’ve always read about. There was a certain veil that was lifted without the system being aggressive in any w...
Klipsch Cornwall IV and Luxman Integrated
I had a Leben 300XS with the Forte IV and it was a good combination. I had the Coda CSIB with the Cornwall IV and thought that was great, better than the EL34 combo but that's all I tried with them. I heard the CW4 with the little Luxman tube amp ...
REL G1 Subwoofer Problems
It looks like someone is asking a new question on the old thread.
Parasound vs Coda
You don't have a long way to learn about tubes. Aquire a tube amp soon and save yourself time. You will either pursue that amplification on or not. Go big with the Focals or think about a speaker change.
The Stereo Times Coda S5.5 amplifier just posted today. Thanks guys
It seems like the Coda gear is to amps is what Harbeth is to speakers, plus bass. My CSIB was very detailed and easy to listen to, did nothing wrong.  I just always prefer tubes over time. Nice pitch for Stereo Times and Coda.
Is the Rockport Avior II an Endgame Speaker?
@Soix, it reminds me of all the Woods Hole Scientists that designed their own homes built in the 70's. Today you just scratch your head and ask why.
