Yep, it sucks…. 1990s tech.
Yes, it has been accepting pasting anything you copy in your clipboard for a while now (it didn’t used to). That makes it easy to copy an image from anywhere, including from your computer and paste here. this is online, a simple copy and paste ............................... Previously (and if they restrict it again), you had to know how to paste the address of an image that was already online, 1st, pick an online image, anywhere, right click it and ’copy image address’ (it’s url) 2. in your post here, top bar, click 6th icon from left, ’image’. dialog box opens, waiting for you to paste the image’s url bingo, it appears. you can name it anything in the ’alternative text’ box lately, they come in distorted when I use this method, this is the same image that I simply copied and pasted above

Oh balls. (insert picture here that does not show up in post unless photo is already online) Mozart balls. Still a royal pita. fb has allowed "private" posting from day 1. Here images have to be at least "on the cloud." My photos are synced and it's not worth waiting for a fresh addition-edit. @elliottbnewcombjr thanks for the example of how the forum's official method is FLAWED (in addition to LACkING.)

If you photo is distorted, before posting it, click on the width box and bring the horizontal value down to around 500 or so and the rest of the image will properly resize without fiddling with the rest of the values. A good photo sharing place for posting your shots here is imgur.com. It's free and easy to do. All the best, |

Pretty sure what happened is when they first rolled out the ability to post pics it worked fine. But now Agon seems to be incompatible with Firefox my preferred browser. I can't post pics and also can't edit my virtual system. Both work fine if I access the site using Edge as a browser. So if you also use Firefox that's why. |

This. Also, online pics do disappear, and hosting sites too (remember Photobucket?), leaving blank frames in the posts where the pics used to be. Not a big deal if it showed your cats lounging on top of your class A monoblocks pumping a Wagner symphony into your 1 ohm speakers. On the other hand, the vanishing of hosted pics has rendered useless literally thousands of carefully documented fix / repair threads, and that's a loss for the community. No one should use linked hosted pics imo.

Now I am interested in this topic... Here is my system, copied from my home computer, and not available online - I opened it and right clicked and settled on "copy", then pasted: And nada... So, do I need to post this image online first? What about a FB post - can that be shared if it is nestled in the FB system, not visible to non-"friends"? Nope - that does not work either (one can keep updating and editing this these posts for 30 minutes!). So private images cannot be shared here at all it appears. One has to post to an online image repository and then post the path to it, I guess. Does anyone have an online place they recommend? Tim

@elliottbnewcombjr I am aware of that every pic I've tried to post is hosted online. It still won't work unfortunately. |
timothy, others I created a Virtual System on Audiogon, called 'MISC INFO' on this forum's computer, just for the purpose of posting an image, just used it open the list of 'My Virtual Systems' (you can have many) right side, actions, pick EDIT upload any image from your computer, save changes, close, reopen it now, right click the image, 'copy image address' (it's url) then, in a post, 6th icon from left, IMAGE, paste the url in width box, edit it to 500 post your response |

Disclaimer: I don’t sell, market, or GARA about this item.... but I think it’s funny and might look ’pertinent’ next to your TT.... ;) Way easy to post nearly anything.... |

Okay. I struggled with this too. Then I found a great free website that allows you to upload images here: https://postimages.org/ To post here simply upload an image from your phone photo app - then copy the image code using the “direct link” code - come here and click on the photo icon - and paste the link in the URL location - click okay. Now you can observe your photos in just a few clicks.
