Best speaker brands for transient response
lol… must not like people criticizing musical tastes…   not sure any system without subs could do the Tenet sound track justice.
Best speaker brands for transient response
Vanessa Fernandez “here but I’m gone” is totally fine for dynamic range. Much better than 99% of albums. Check the dynamic range in software, I am sure it is high. The original poster did not mention orchestral music. Which is hard on systems but ...
Best speaker brands for transient response
Well I did a direct A/B of my JBL 590 and JBL 4367s just now to listen for transient response. I did it in mono just so I could do instant switching through my preamp. I did not use my subs. amp was McIntosh MC462 and the speakers were right besid...
Best speaker brands for transient response
Transients are impulse responses in relation to steady state and it can be measured. Impulse response is to a specific input from base level. It is used to check time alinement. It is not related to distortion but most systems with good transient ...

Sweetwater has the 4349 on sale if you call. Might be worth checking the sale price. I also think they have a trial period and liberal return policy but I would check.    https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/4349Wal--jbl-lifestyle-4349-12-i...

I can probably answer your question directly as I own the JBL 590 and JBL 4367. I have played them back to back in the same room. I agree with Phusis and would add it is all about “power to weight” of the system. Speakers are a mechanical system ...
Soft dome tweeter replacement for Thiel 3.6s
Interesting with good results.
Borreson X2
How balanced are the upper octaves from a balance stand point? I have heard a few people call them hi-fi tuned which to me say bright like a B&W. How affected are they by tow in the highs?
JTR RS1s (18” sealed subs) vs JL Audio E112s, (JBL 4367)
Ohlala,   I always like the sound of the JL but the JTR pretty much eclipse them. I have not owned the F13 but have done a back to back E112 vs Fathom and thought they were pretty close in sound charter, minus the built in EQ. I will give plugg...

Swap out b&w 802 d3 for Sonus faber amati g5?
I have experience with both brands in this price category. I would recommend a demo of Wilson Audio in your price range (lots of used one out there too).  Both wilson and Sonus Faber will be more neutral than B&W. The Wilson are almost always ...
JTR RS1s (18” sealed subs) vs JL Audio E112s, (JBL 4367)
Phusis, Thanks for the impression. I have not heard the M2 just looked at the measurements (Harman’s and Kipple from Erin’s audio corner). I have heard a few crown amps which are fine.    I will not argue against the advantages of active systems...
New Acquired Sopra 2
I am a Focal and Mac fan. They go well together.    https://youtu.be/RBY_xDhXB6s?si=55a7h6HaQ7cQ45OQ
JTR RS1s (18” sealed subs) vs JL Audio E112s, (JBL 4367)
I have been trying a bit higher crossover this week. I am currently using 75hz and went as high as 120hz. I think the truth this with a proper crossover you can pretty much crossover at any point and get a good blend. The 18” JTR have more detail ...
Why are high efficiency speakers preferred for low volume listening?
Not sure that one detail matters too much but dynamics are super important and people underestimate how much power it takes to go instantly from 60db to 70db with a drum hit. The speaker/amp combo needs to be able to triple its power in a fraction...
