Multi-driver inexpensive speakers vs. expensive speaker, what's the difference?
These type of speakers with lame drivers in undersized cabinets are typically ok for low end hometheater.  The atmos setups with many of these speakers working in unison and multiple subs will tend to salvage them. For stereo on their own, they wi...
Does and don't
Garth Powell (audioquest) designed some Furman units, I believe. Look for one that has words like transient power correction or similar. If it does, plug your power amp into it and it may sound better than wall, in addition to other protections it...
10dB resonant peak at 40Hz
Put a pair of subs ([1/4, 0], [3/4,1]) [lengthwise, widthwise] locations on either side wall. There are other locations as well ([0,0], [1,1]) ([1/4, 1/4], [3/4, 3/4]) etc depending on what is practical for you..but you may loose perceivable fideli...
Trade thoughts
You either change all speakers in a multichannel setup or you don't change anything. If you're looking for some change without spending a whole lot, get a pair of the Sony XM5 360 reality headphones ( WH-1000XM5).
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?

Does loudness play a part in your appreciation?
A single violin player, a sax player and some percussion playing in a 25 by 30 room, which pretty much happens every weekend or so in my house will easily be the loudest thing guys on this thread might hear, it appears... if they are listening @70...

Background vibration and your system.
Isolation of what component are you referring to? speakers? clunker amps? If so, do your townsend or whatever. I was specifically referring to dacs with the linked vid. After trialing everything including things that may have been priced as much ...

Background vibration and your system.
There is a pretty cheap fix for vibration actually. Low durometer (about 30) sorbothane pucks...There's a website out there for correct weight distribution on it. Yes,  it will stick and stain if you don't do the following....get a plastic bag, c...
How to choose speakers that won't overpower your room?
No, it was always priced around 1500, no exaggerated pricing there, in consideration of the performance that got packed into such a small form factor, i.e., force balanced, hits  down under 20 hz, etc...best lil thing to come out of kef yet @immat...
