Has anyone had problems getting their money refunded by The Music Room?

That about sums up my experience with trying to get my money back from The Music Room after returning expensive gear in showroom condition. Several weeks ago I was told that the problem was with my bank in processing TMR check. Still haven't seen the check nor a statement of my account with they charged against it.

Not quite understanding what you’re saying. What was your original method of payment? As for money coming back your way, it’s going to come back in a form of credit to your credit card if you used that, actual paper check, ACH or wire. Wire being rarely used under these situations.

My interactions TMR buying and selling have always been above board. Zero complaints.

As @ckr1969 said, call them. My guess is there is some miscommunication or misunderstanding either in payment method or issue with your transaction not related to payment.

Best we can do is speculate.  Resolving requires @tubes21 (the only with the authority) to contact both TMR and his bank to clear up the payment processing problem.  Otherwise maybe work out another method of receiving payment.

I have returned two high priced items to TMR. The money was in my account within two days of them receiving the products both times. No issues at all.

I sold an amp to TMR, the money was in my account within 2 days as they checked it out first.

Back in October of 2024 I ordered a phono cable from TMR. The transaction went through with no problem and the cable was shipped the following day. I got an e-mail from FedEx saying that the cable was delivered. I got the e-mail at 12:10 PM stating the package was delivered at 11:55 AM. I quick went down stairs to retrieve the package and it wasn't there. It was 15 minutes from the time they said it was delivered to the time I checked. Either someone stole it, the driver stole it or it was mis delivered. Either way it was my word against FedEx. I contacted TMR and told them what happened and they told me to wait a few days to see if the package would show up. That seemed reasonable so I said I would wait 10 days. I also contacted FedEx and they were no help at all. After 10 days and no package I called TMR and said they would take care of it. Two days later my cc was credited for the full amount. ($581.00). What impressed me the most was that they treated me with respect and took my word that the cable didn't show up. For all they knew I could have been the biggest scammer out there. They could have told me to go pound sand, but they didn't. They have my highest recommendation and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

ps

The cable never did show up.

I've bought and sold with TMR (just bought something last week, in fact) for years, and have had no problems of any kind with them.

I have bought from and sold to TMR on multiple occasions with no issues whatsoever.

Agreed. Posting this on a public forum doesn't seem like the right move, yet, to resolve the situation or get more information. TMR's reputation is good and doesn't deserve even unintentional tarnishing, IMHO.

TRM is hoping this thread continues. Why? Just read the above positive testimonials. How many negatives?

OP Why not give us more details? As it stands now, this is a slam against them with little details or clarification. My speculation is that there is more to the story than presented to.

I agree, at this point, without further information, this unfounded slam against TMR. I've had several successful transactions with them. As for shipping components, virtually every retail establishment I've ever dealt with required signature on delivery for expensive components, some will allow purchaser to choose no signature.

In the future try “Echo Audio” Hi Fi Heaven “the audio factory.com”, or “safe and Sound” open box etc. for used audio… Music Room is an eye gouging, let me get every last penny enterprise. Take your power back from these greedy dealers.

Never had any issue re: refunds. On the one occasion that I had an issue with an item, TMR took extraordinary steps to make things right. Very pleased with them!

Never had a problem. If they are backed up in the returns/trade in areas it can take a week to get processed.

The process can take awhile. I went through it myself with them. Stay on it, they will make it right. I trust them 100%.

I have sold 12-15 items at least through The Music Room and NEVER had an issue with getting paid. They were terrific.

@tubes21 Can you update us on your conversation with TMR this week? Curious how it’s progressing.
