Aurender N20 versus Innuos Zen NG
@audphile1 great catch. I meant silver reference by DH Labs which is a 110 ohm AES/EBU cable.  Thanks for the support.
Aurender N20 versus Innuos Zen NG
I received my N20 last weekend and have been listening several hours every day. It is such an improvement over the Innuos Pulse, as it should be. I purchased it used with one memory card. With the money I saved buying used I am upgrading the cable...
Finally heard Accuphase
@clustrocasual So much at this show was speaker focused. I was unable to compare equipment due to the layout. Probably more my issue, because this was my first show and I had high expectations. I had trouble staying in the Audio Note room for mor...
Finally heard Accuphase
@clustrocasual I agree with you regarding the gryphon room. Something was definitely off there.  The various Accuphase rooms went from just OK to pretty darn good.  The Audio Note room was a disappointment, but it may have been the room. Hard to...
Pass Labs XA-25 vs XA-30.8 amplifier
When I was upgrading from my Nakamichi PA-7AII (A Nelson Pass Threshold design) I was convinced I wanted dual mono's. I tried the PS Audio M700's and The Schiit Tyr (both dual mono), but while they did help with the soundstage width and depth, the...
the gateway product that turned you into an audiophile
Great thread! I took a class at Colorado State University in 1980 called something like "Audio Physics." It focused on teaching physics through the practical application of science through a stereo system. Shortly after the class ended I purchase...
Darko nailed it. 12 examples of wishful thinking in the hi-fi community
@kennyc Exactly.  I just attended T.H.E. SHOW in Costa Mesa. I was very excited as this was my first audio show. What a disappointment! I was hoping to compare various versions of items from manufacturers. Not possible. Innuos had no representati...
Electronic cross-over on pre-amp out, to split signal to subwoofer and bookshelf speakers
I use the SPL Crossover from Germany. It is an active crossover that allows the user to adjust the crossover point and slope to both the sub and the power amp. JL also makes an excellent active crossover.

Linear Tube Audio - Micro ZOTL - version -3 Update on upgrades
@lancelock I am looking forward to your comparisons of the two preamps. The Rhumba Extreme 1.4 was my second choice, although I was never able to compare the LTA MicroZOTL Level 2 with it in my system. I went with the LTA ultimately based on price...
use of ChatGPT for HIFI
I recently started using ChatGPT for comparisons. Sometimes the information is just wrong. When I pointed this out, it adjusted and provided different results. It is just like any other resource at this point. It is just retrieving information fro...
Linear Tube Audio - Micro ZOTL - version -3 Update on upgrades
At @dotto81 Paul brought both in and for some reason preferred the Rhumba Extreme 1.4 versus the Rhythm. He is not shy about spending money. I do not remember the specifics.
Linear Tube Audio - Micro ZOTL - version -3 Update on upgrades
@dotto81 A friend has a Rhumba Extreme 1.4. He swears by it. The 1.4 might be the most affordable component in his system. He swung by Sunday after visiting a couple of wineries. He knew the Level 3 was installed and he wanted to give a listen. B...
Linear Tube Audio - Micro ZOTL - version -3 Update on upgrades
My Level 3 upgrade arrived Friday and I have spent a large part of the weekend listening to music. The total turn around time was eighteen days including shipping from the West Coast to Maryland and back again. Fortunately I was traveling during m...
Linear Tube Audio - Micro ZOTL - version -3 Update on upgrades
My preamp arrives Friday.  The total turn around time will be just under three weeks.  I look forward to providing feedback next week.
