All of Melonia breathes a sigh of relief....

solemnly saluting to the sound of 21 watermelon cannons firing in unison

My Mother once told me, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all......
|
Fair enough @mammothguy54 . My apologies if I sounded snarky and offended.
|
You are correct. You are not hiding anything, and your opinion is fairly stated. It is what it is. It is your opinion.
But I must disagree, the opinions that others hold is absolutely their prerogative. I never profess that someone else's opinion must be the same as mine. I just felt that your comment was rather insensitive and expressed my opinion on that.

@mammothguy54
I am not "hiding" behind anything. This is a forum of shared opinions. Apparently, you think that any opinion is ok as long as it is the same as yours. I mean no disrespect to the memory of the man; I just didn't enjoy his particular brand of humor. Period.
|
roxy54 Couldn't you just have kept that comment to yourself? A very nice thread offering great respect to a good person, and you have to go negative. That's what is partly wrong with this world; people who hide behind the anonymity of the internet.

Gallagher and George Carlin... made comedy relevant. RIP
|
Didn't "get" him, won't miss him.
|
I saw him once and was smart enough to not buy tickets in the first five rows, or so I thought. I still got splattered!
RIP

Why do we drive on a Parkway, but park in a Driveway?
Why do women have a pair of panties, but only one bra?
Why do they call them buildings when their completed? Shouldn't they be called "builts"?
THANKS for all the laughs!!!
|
Talking about women and PMS he said it's a real thing that changes you and that they could use that as an excuse for just about anything. In court, "Oh my gahd judge, why did I kill him? Well it was a just a craaaaazy daaaaay..." :)

Gallagher transcended generations. My grandmother showed us kids his stand-up. I'll definitely be watching some of his work this weekend.
|
I met him some 30 years ago, when I worked at rental car place. He left a joint roach in the ashtray of the car he rented.

If aliens landed, and they were naked, how would we know what not to look at?
RIP indeed.

Still trying to Visualize what a chair would look like if your knees bent the other way RIP

|
I used to watch him on Showtime back in the day. Great guy. RIP.
|
Me, it was the gong show!
|
RIP Gallagher I was a big fan as a kid.
|
i'm eating a watermelon as a sign of respect.
|
I experiended Sledge-o-matic in 1982 WITH the watermelon/unsuspecting crowd- was quite fun. It became a JTS moment(jump the shark) in following years, but Gallagher otherwise was great.
|
Yeah, I loved him too. I don't think I've ever laughed more in my life. Genius.

Did see him years ago in Las Vegas and it was the show that the unknown comic pulled the bag off his head. Murry Langston?
Laughed so hard it felt like I did 1000 sit-ups.

His brother was pretty funny also imitating his act. enjoy the music
|
When comedy was, you know, comedy. Forgot how funny he was. Thanks. RIP.
