Your last concert was to see who and when?

Pretty simple, what and when was your last concert?
kiddman

The Doors Tribune banx Wild Cild, they have a,Live Album out. They play every year at the Paramount in Huntington NY...there good I've seen them 6 times.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard last week at the Gorge.  This band is amazing and they're peaking right now.  Every show this tour was top notch.  There were no off nights.

@mitch2 Yes I have and yes it was. I get to enjoy their performances a few times a year. I am a Jazz, Rock and Blues guy. They hit 2 of the 3. Great musicians.

@tkrtrb125 - Have you seen Tedeschi Trucks Band before?  Was it a good show?

@boxer12 - Darn, I missed Phish in GR. Billy Strings too.

Leonid & Friends at Royal Oak Music Theater last night. Russian band doing mainly Chicago covers, also do some funk like Earth, Wind & Fire. Wish they would have done more of the funk, but good show nonetheless.

…….The Cowboy Junkies on Friday night. I have been following this band for over 30 years and saw them in a beautiful opera house in Geneva , New York on Friday night. They were terrible and I have seen them about 18 times . They have this really hard edge to them now and gone it seems are the beautiful catchy lyrics and melody’s. I loved the early music like Crescent Moon and Black Eyed Man but their new music is just loud and hard and well , terrible . I doubt I will see them again or buy any of their music which I have and then quickly sold and greatly disappointed. Too bad as I always enjoyed them …..

Herbie Hancock in San Diego several months ago.  Great show and accompanying players.

Beth Hart, Lyle Lovett, The Record Company,  at Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville KY, love that I travel so much in my career.

Black Pumas and Tedeschi Trucks Band tonight.

Wild Child at the Paramount at Huntington NY...there a,great Doors Tribute band.

Joe Bonamassa, Aug 4  Red Rock Amphitheatre Colorado.  Fantastic performance and the venue.

Phish in Grand Rapids Mi. last week. Great show, Billy Strings made an appearance and played with them toward the end of the last set.

Eliades Ochoa (guitarist for the Buena Vista Social Club) at the Music Haven in Schenectady NY on Sunday August 11, 2024.  About 500 folks were treated to an hour and a half of mastery.  He played only one other date in the US in NYC at the Sony Hall.

Dead and Co at the Sphere in Vegas on 10-Aug. It was their last show of their residence there and it was an amazing event - highly recommended venue!

Joe Jackson, Majestic Theater June 14, 2022 promoter pulled my wife and I up to the 2nd row center. Awesome show. Awesome Musician. Check out "Body and Soul" fantastic album and recording.

Jerry Miller, lead guitarist of Moby Grape. He played in a little club in Portland about six weeks back, and passed away about a month later. See 'em while you can, folks.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, August 10, 2024, Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo

Margo Price opened.

This is definitely one I would not miss. The 11-person band was excellent and it was fun to see Tyler Greenwell and JJ Johnson on two drum kits - Allman Brothers style. Susan was awesome both singing and playing her guitar, and Derek Trucks is one of the best guitar players in the world right now, IMO. Midnight in Harlem was a highlight of the night for me. Will definitely remember this as one of my favorite concerts ever!

My only sort-of disappointment was the poor’ish acoustics of the stadium. There are two excellent (although smaller) music venues in Kalamazoo and Buddy Guy happened to be at one of them on the same night.

Steve Earle - Saturday 7/27/2024 - Ludlow Garage - Cincinnati, OH

Solo Acoustic Show. Fantastic! I've seen Steve Earle something like 10 times over the last 25+ years. This was in the top 2 best I've seen. Great set and performance.

At the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley CA, I saw "Della Mae", an all womens bluegrass band.Top notch instrumentalists and singers. A wonderful concert!

dada - 6/28/2024 - Southgate House Revival - Newport, KY (Cincinnati)

Great show! dada is still a strong live performer, even now, 32 years after their excellent album - Puzzle was released.

Saw 2 up and coming bands at a free show last night - 6/20/2024 at RiversEdge Pavilion in Hamilton, Ohio (Cincinnati)

Happy Landing

Proxima Parada

It was 95 degrees outside, with high humidity, so the crowd was small. I estimate about 250 people. Both bands were EXCELLENT and I highly recommend seeing them if they are playing near you. They are both on the festival rounds this summer and they are both playing at SummerFest this weekend in Milwaukee. I think both of them would be excellent in front of a larger, more enthusiast crowd.

Sarah McLachlan - 5/26/24 at the Chateau St. Michelle winery in Woodinville, WA. She performed an excellent show at a great outdoor venue and we enjoyed a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle cab to boot!

Recently saw Shakti with John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussein and Shankar Mahadevan. This was a lifetime dream show for me. I first listened to the original Shakti 35 years ago and was not disappointed. What a fun and magical night.

Marc Ford-The Iridium NYC 5/19/24 The performance and sound were easily a 9/10. FWIW The Bill Charlap Trio(Birdland)on the previous night was a slight disappointment. The Trio seemed to rush through a short set(had 3 that night) despite the stellar playing it felt slightly uninspired.

THE EAGLES ….. in Toronto about 2 months ago.

Had center floor seats 10 rows from the stage …. Well worth the indulgence to se these rock superstars .

Matthew Sweet - 4/23/2024 - Ludlow Garage, Cincinnati (Clifton), Ohio. Good show. Big finish!

A month ago I saw the San Francisco Symphony (conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, choral direction by Jenny Wong, piano by Jean-Yvette Thibaudet) at Davies Symphony Hall do Scriabin’s Prometheus, The Poem of Fire and Bartók’s Duke Bluebeard’s Castle.
The ensemble was spectacular, the acoustics of the venue left a bit to be desired (2nd tier center there I would never recommend - obviously I was not in an ideal place but it was certainly underwhelming where I was at - between Prometheus and Bluebeard I moved from ‘Premier 2nd Tier’ to a side-box labeled merely ‘2nd Tier’ and experienced notably superior sound) and there was a bit too much tacky technical flibitty-jibbity with the lights and big screens displaying the English translation of the Bluebeard text for my taste.
The performance of Prometheus was spectacular, albeit somewhat marred for me personally by the persistent noise-making and fidgeting of nearby attendees.
Afterwards we went to Martuni’s piano bar and I heard some of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard get up and sing all manner of songs, (the piano player was brilliant) seated about three feet away and, especially with the multiple martinis on board and the super-cool vibe of the thing, had a much better time there.

Errrr Alice Cooper,Rob Zombie, Jones Beach in 2023 i believe it was in August it was a Beautiful evening....

The Surfrajettes    Several weeks ago in Kansas City at The Record Bar.  Really fun show, small venue.  Talented group

Hey Tom. She did her show with a different twist. Told stories of how her songs came to be which was a bonus. Since her stroke, she hasn't gained all functions back but her voice was as strong as I've heard it. Band was super tight.

@slaw - Hey Steve! How was Lucinda? I've seen her, and Buick 6, many times. Some great, some not so great...

@dweller - Actually, never heard of Saving Escape. However, I see they are scheduled to play at MOTR Pub on Feb. 24. I'll check them out and see if I may be interested in going to see them.

@reubent - What? No Saving Escape? Young Cincinnati band who put on a great show. Kala's pipes (lead singer) and known far and wide.

2024 concert schedule here in Cincinnati is heating up. Here's a few I'm planning to attend in spring of 2024... Also hope to see a show or two at Read Rocks or near Golden, CO where my son is attending university.

Can't wait to see who's playing this summer and fall....

Norman Brown, October 13, 2023. I'm so happy that San Antonio has a new Jazz Venue. The Buena Vista Theater is an absolutely outstanding venue for Jazz.

Bonnie Raitt, last September at the Santa Fe opera. My daughter and I sat in the front row.

Skinny Puppy, last Thursday at the Anaheim House of Blues.   Supposedly their last tour.  How many times have you heard that one before???

@immatthewj

As always, Iris put on a great show. Other than a couple of shows with John Prine she's always been solo when I've seen her, but this time she had a couple of talented young women on bass, guitar and vocals backing her. She seems to be completely over the stage shyness she used to experience and was very talkative and funny throughout the show.

Lucinda is probably my third favorite artist behind the Dead (vet of 100+ shows) and Dylan (first show in 1966). She's so genuine and as real as it gets, and she's one of the most underrated songwriters of the last few decades. I've seen her dozens of times, most memorably at the Ryman in Nashville a few years back when she on her Car Wheels 25th anniversary tour. Lots of special guests including Emmylou, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale among others. That LSD tour was one of the few where I didn't catch any of the shows unfortunately.

Lucinda Williams and her band in October. Thoroughly enjoyed the music and stories she told. I admire her talents and strength despite her physical limitations (unable to play guitar) while still recovering from a stroke.

@bander - Really sorry to hear regarding the sound at the Joan Osborne show. We saw her last year at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati and it was fantastic. Her vocal performance was very good, as was the accompaniment. Overall, it was a fantastic show. Didn't hurt that we were front row in a 325 seat room...

Joan Osborne a few weeks ago at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley  CA.

Sadly it was a big disappointment. The sound was  inexcusabley terrible.

Ms Osborne was upstaged by the instrumentalists. Her vocals were

muddled and way in the background. An expensive ticket. Merde.

August 16, 2023 - Red Rocks Amphitheater

Beck, Phoenix, Japanese Breakfast, Sir Chloe

Sad to say, I haven't seen another show since. Looking forward to a good 2024 concert schedule.

Buddy Guy with a very young Joe Bonamassa opening for him. Buddy guy was great, I had to get earplugs for my wife and I, Joe was way too loud, and not so enjoyable as a result.

It was a long time ago.

So long ago I am not even sure I remember which was the last.

But I am thinking that in the cold months of '03 I drove up tho Philadelphia on kind of the spur of the moment to see Steve Earle at The Living Arts Theater.

@ezwind  , I am an Iris fan also.  But I've only seen her a couple of times.  My concert going days kind of died with 9/11.  I used to love Lucinda!  I saw her an even dozen times.  First time was in '99 at a little 500 seat general admission venue and we were first row center.  She was touring Car Wheels.  She was my hero back then and I wasn't the same for days after seeing that one.  I think the last time I saw her might have been at the TLA in Philly in the summer of '02 . . . I am not positive.  I was doing some you tube searches on her a while back ago and I saw that her and Dwight Yokam and Steve Earle were doing shows together . . . calling it LSD.  That would have been something I would have changed my life in order to see back about 25 years ago.

@eldulcesol

Lucky for you to see that show.  I would really like to see them or Tedeschi Trucks but neither of those bands are anywhere near where t can get to this year.  I will have to fix that next year.  I am glad you were able to see a great show!

Allman Betts Family Reunion tour in Buffalo NY on 11-29. Great show with two full sets.
