Old SS amps
I bought an Acoustic Research Amp new in 1969.  I recently gave it to one of my sons and it is working OK, though probably out of spec given the age of the electronics. I have an ADCOM GFA1 I bought new in the late 1970s in storage I use for back...
Vinyl that is impossible to find
Been looking for Muddy Waters' "The Folk Singer" on the short-lived Vivante label to complete my Vivante collection.  I'm not even sure this 180 gram vinyl disc was ever released -- I've never seen it offered for sale.  (Reviews had rated it infer...
Krell Moves to new location
@bulldogger  Thank you for the reassuring update.  I read your post with interest and I wanted to ask you about one sentence that i did not understand: "Steve owns ALL of the Krell assets, Krell still belongs to Kris D'Agostino." This sounds a l...

Maybe Samsung might like having a German footprint.
According to wikipedia Brian Wilson has passed away
RIP Brian Wilson! Beach Boys songs of fun, love, and innocence.  Those were the days.  Wish I could go back.
Phono Stage - The great analog tragedy
Over the years, phono stages have offered better flexibility in gain, loading, and input selection.  My Manley Steelhead, introduced in 2001, still does a great job for me and can double as a line level preamp when necessary. Prior to that, legen...

Should we read "moving store" as actually "going out of business"? And "going out of business" as "bankrupt" and "get in line with the other creditors"? Hope not.
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
When I first started out in this hobby, I was sure all cables sounded alike and cable marketing was all a scam.  As my ears got better, I could hear the difference and realized it was important to me, so I bought into pricey cables. And I have ne...
Help me build up a jazz album collection. Can you suggest a must have album?
The Japanese label Three Blind Mice has some super performances that were recorded exceptionally well. Try Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio: "Midnight Sugar" and "Misty"        Isao Suzuki Trio: "Blow Up" and "Black Orpheus"

Another Bill Evans LP.  Great performance and great sound. Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival
I am sad
Sounds like a special amp with a distinctive special sound.  Might be worth an audition if we knew brand and model.
