Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows
Studying for finals back in college, I would take a relaxing break listening to group It's A Beautiful Day's "White Bird." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT60cEWjP88&list=RDLT60cEWjP88&start_radio=1
Batteries are Cheap, Backup power is expensive
I was in a hurricane in New Jersey once that knocked out power for more than a week -- so many downed wires from fallen trees for the crews to clear.  I had a roundabout route over cleared roads just to get to the gas station to keep my generator ...

Seems like good setup.  Of course it requires your manual involvement for switching, but your need would be different if you were away from home and unavailable. The batteries should be adequate so long as the power is back on before too long.  H...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
It's been a few years since I last heard Yuko Mabuchi live -- I had paused live concerts early in the pandemic, and since then Yuko has expanded her appearances to national venues, beyond SoCal.  So it was my delight to find her tonight at the est...

I wonder if it would make sense to locate the subwoofers closer to the listener to achieve better time coherence, similar to the sloped baffle of the speakers?
Krell Moves to new location
@bulldogger  Thank you for explaining.  So it seems Steve will run the business and maybe also pay Kristopher for use of the brand name.  I wish them the best.

Many pickup trucks have 120 V outlets.  Just need to add a switch on your house electrical box to flip your source to a cable from the truck.  Turn on the truck before your APC UPS runs out of juice.  (Assuming you have the truck.)

I have a Cyberpower UPS 1350VA that keeps my low wattage modem and router running for well over an hour.  (Of course my laptop has its own battery.) That is enough time for me to start and hook up my "portable" gasoline-powered generator in the g...

My speaker cables are terminated with spade lugs.  Just be sure not to damage the terminal by overtightening.
Local pickup for speakers - should I let the buyer in the house or use the the garage?

I would demo the speakers in the garage using my oldest cheapest amp and sources, just good enough to show that the speakers work.  I don't need to make them sound good, especially given garage acoustics and the mediocre upstream equipment -- not ...
Old SS amps
I bought an Acoustic Research Amp new in 1969.  I recently gave it to one of my sons and it is working OK, though probably out of spec given the age of the electronics. I have an ADCOM GFA1 I bought new in the late 1970s in storage I use for back...
Vinyl that is impossible to find
Been looking for Muddy Waters' "The Folk Singer" on the short-lived Vivante label to complete my Vivante collection.  I'm not even sure this 180 gram vinyl disc was ever released -- I've never seen it offered for sale.  (Reviews had rated it infer...
Krell Moves to new location
@bulldogger  Thank you for the reassuring update.  I read your post with interest and I wanted to ask you about one sentence that i did not understand: "Steve owns ALL of the Krell assets, Krell still belongs to Kris D'Agostino." This sounds a l...
