Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Aion for orchestra. Lovely, menacing and mysterious all at the same time. I will label this one an audiophile recording as well for sure.  Don’t miss this one!

Talking Heads are excellent.  I’ve been listening to the reissue of Talking Heads 77.  Great stuff.

I am listening to the most marvelous music, I really don’t want it to stop. Ever!

I’ve just discovered it. The artist is Bart van Oort and he plays the fortepiano. It is what pianos were in Chopin’s day and they don’t necessarily sound completely familiar, but van Oort is a magician the way he makes these pianos sing. I am listening to one of his singles called “French Nocturnes.  I’d like to upload a photo here from my iPad Photo Library but apparently that’s not possible. :(

The first track is beyond beautiful. Check it out here:

The other one of van Oort’s recordings that I’ve been playing is also wonderful! It is a multi disc album “Chopin and his Contemporaries” and it is equally beautiful.

Joe Sample-Carmel(CD-1979/1996GRP) A Fusion Jazz favorite of mine kicks off an unusual Saturday Night Vinyl session.
