Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama
Maybe what we need is a movie about audiophiles like the one done for food in The Menu.    @nonoise, spot on!
Give Up on Bacch?
I sat in the "sweet spot" at the Axpona demo for this product.  It sounded fine, and "different" but also seemed very gimmicky overall.  They played some stuff that had a bunch of flying insect sound effects and again, it was cool in the same way ...
Meeting up with members even where there is no sale
I will be there today, I have a white beard, wild eyes, and a hankerin' for the (musical) truth. I will definitely be checking out your gear,      b2colchagoff - that is a beautiful piece of work and I'd love to see more.  Looking forward to a fu...
Audio quest Rocket 88 how good are they?
I used a pair of Rocket 88 cables with Vandy 2CEs (not signature) in my main system for about 5 years, I thought they sounded great, no complaints whatsoever.  They are also decently flexible, which was nice as the Vandersteen's binding posts aren...
Getting into vinyl for the first time
Welcome to the vinyl club!  It is a thoroughly rewarding pursuit. Ignore the haters and have fun.  That is a great cartridge and phono pre pairing, and replacement styli are inexpensive and easy to replace.  That particular cartridge allows the li...
Are You a Swifty?
She seems genuinely nice and decent. Don't dislike her music necessarily, but I'm mos def with the "cue Joni" crowd.
The Emperor Has No Clothes!!
I drive a 2013 Toyota Yaris, I bought it new and it now has 230K miles on it. I hope this doesn't harm my audiophile cred.
Trying to get bluetooth headphones connected for TV audio
you should be able to use your phone as a remote with a Roku device.  If you haven't already, download the Roku app and pair your bluetooth headphones to your phone.  You should now be able to hear your headphones as long as they are "paired" in t...
Placing your record on a spinning turntable.
I can't imagine it being a problem as long as you keep using that felt mat on top of the platter. I wouldn't do what's being described with an acrylic or other hard material for fear of the micro scratches that would be the almost certain result.
Starting a Classical Vinyl Music Collection
I'm kind of in the same boat, although I just started with some Mahler, not for any particular reason other than I had liked what I'd heard at some point. I also have quite a few modern (avant garde?) composers that I've never really listened to s...
What are your favorite songs or albums for illustrating a deep soundstage?
Mahler's Symphony No.5 - I just listened to this record all the way through yesterday (DG, Kubelik conducting) and it's a very holographic recording, plus the fact that the music itself is amazing doesn't hurt.
Seeking Legit Cartridge Expert?
Seconding Brian Walsh, very knowledgeable and a super nice guy to boot.
I found my new reference album
Wow, just listened to the first two tracks from The Returner, what a talented artist. Thank you very much for the recommendation - I'll be picking (at least) this one up on vinyl.
Your Not-So-Obvious Best Fidelity LPs
I recently picked up a 1981 MoFi copy of The Moody Blues Days of Future Passed and it is pretty astounding. The recent reissue of  Zappa's The Grand Wazoo sounds fantastic, although my OG sounds pretty sweet as well. Joni has been mentioned, but...
