Ever heard Rockpile? I actually like the Little Village album!
Bent Audioquest Robin Hood banana plugs I also recommend the pliers route - the metal is surprisingly malleable.
Disagreements and Conflicts between Audiophiles have we lost our brotherhood and maturity? @whart well said.
Class A, A/B vs Class D amp Soundstage I came here to say what @jetter did. Many class D amps perform incredibly well, but there is also always the chance that synergy just isn't "there".
Speakers sound too bright. Break in, I'd say at least 100 hours. I have heard these speakers after break in and they didn't sound the least bit bright or brittle to my ears.
Need to learn about Audio Research Another longtime ARC pre user here; the LS7 in my system has been its heart and soul since 1997(!). Never replaced a tube, and I turn it off only when I'm going to be gone from the house for more than a couple of days. I use a Classe CA-D200, a cl...
Upscale Audio is up front with customers I've never purchased from them (yet - I would like to try my hand at rolling tubes for my preamp) but I've had the opportunity to meet Kevin and he seems genuine and very easy to talk to. The industry needs more like him.
Short in my system? This happens to me if I'm wearing rubber-soled shoes. It's static electricity and no joke I've had a spark arc about half an inch from the tonearm to my finger, and it's both LOUD and unnerving. Take those shoes off, or ground yourself to a large...
Vinyl sounds better (shots fired) Good points @jsalerno277 although TBH the "ritual" stuff you mention are part of what I LOVE about vinyl, and I suspect the same is true of the majority of analog fans out there. It's not for everybody, but for those of us that enjoy it, it is not...
A great, great talk by Robbie Robertson on all things The Band. @bdp24 thank you for posting this and the deets, I have loved the Band forever, (Richard Manuel was my favorite member) and knowing these kinds of things only adds to that love.
Is the "improvement" real or imnagined? I have a powered recliner with a high-ish back (comes up to just below my earlobes). The headrest is adjustable and it actually sounds much better in the "back" position because there is space between the headrest and my ears, even though the diff...
Sold Sold Sold This entire thread has delighted me, especially the way it ended up. Be decent to others - or is that too "woke"?
I'm curious. What is your "normal" listening volume? 70-80db
Vinyl sounds better (shots fired) @dogberry, hear hear! The old idiom "if you can't say something nice..." has morphed into "if you can't say something mean...".
Listening when I listen, it's music only, no distractions. if I'm doing stuff around the house, there is always music playing as a soundtrack to my day but it's just whatever plays on qobuz, I don't program lists or anything like that. |
