@mihorn"Also, V2 is an only natural sound speaker in the world."
Back to spouting ridiculous, unsupportable hyperbole again?
The proof that V2 is a natural sound. Say "hello" (or anything) while my video is playing. You can hear your voice and V2 sound blend together well.
Now you say "hello" while your speaker is playing. You'll hear your voice and your speaker won't mix well (like a left speaker in below video). That means your speaker is un-natural sounding. Alex/WTA
What is the Best Sounding Stand Mount Speaker in the world?
Wavetouch audio Antero V2 speaker. Also, V2 is an only natural sound speaker in the world. Hear my system at THE Show 2024, OC. Costa Mesa audio show (my rm #272) on June 7-9. Alex/WTA
You caught me. I meant to say Minima Amator ll. I very briefly heard them in a poor setting and they still sounded pretty good. I am going to demo some SF floor standers the end of next week, so I’m excited.
Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage circa 2004. By some cosmic twist of fate, a pristine pair is now playing beautifully in my home. I can only hope that when I have "moved on" these magnificent musical instruments will somehow find a new, and deserving home. Mille Grazie, to the esteemed Franco.
I have NO FREAKIN’ idea if these speakers are "the best" but they sure sound damn good. In fact, the OP’s question is, at heart, a logical fallacy. "Best?" compared to what. and filtered through ears, taste, systems, and more?
I pity the rampant abolutists who dare to post here. As if they have some sort of handle on "The Truth". All I am saying is let your ears and wallet sort it out for you. Big Swingin’ D’s are to be ignored. That’s what seems clear and obvious from my perspective.
Adding my voice to the chorus praising the Dynaudio Heritage Special.
This is, to me, the quintessential real world bookshelf speaker - expensive but not outrageously so, with superlative performance in a timeless package.
I am really impressed by all the stand mount speaker brands/models that have been posted. My budget is less. While I have mostly used floorstanders, I will not let loose of my old Reference 3A MM MMC two ways made in Loudon France. They eventually became known as De Capos. I am still looking for a floor stander that can match the mid bass, mid range, and treble while providing a decent low end. It never ends I guess.
That is an absurd question. It took me 3 years to build the 2 systems I have in the house, both rooms were so completely different. I had several sets of Dynaudio speakers in my main listening room, and have chosen the Confidence 20 as my my main floor end game speakers. None of the Dynaudio speakers sounded great in the basement, that is where frequency goes to die. I have a set of Capriccio Continuo 311 Ad monitor Speakers, and they are amazing. sharp articulate and precise.
I own the Dynaudio Heritage Specials. I am not claiming that these are the best but they are extremely transparent and enjoyable to listen to. With the supporting cast I have they sure sound fabulous in my room.
"Price no object? The most precious commodity is time. So, build your own. The materials can be exotic as you want, usually better than manufacturers use. Thus, it is possible to build a speaker better than anything you have heard."
I bought some Closer Acoustic Ogy speakers. They're far from the most expensive at around 1500€~2000€ (depending on finish). The build is as good as it gets really:
- hand-built fullrange driver from a small mom & pop company (EMS)
- Laser-cut plywood sandwich transmission line enclosure. Somebody designed that and it's intricate AF. There are only curves in the transmission line, no edges. It shows that a lot of time was spent on the build.
- Corian finish with a smiley face port in front
- It's the size of a cereal box.
Does it sound the best? Probably not. But I enjoy them immensely. I love the minimalist and counter-intuitive concept. I mean we'll probably see more active speakers with mutliple amplifiers for each driver and active DSPs/crossovers. These speakers will get the highest regards from the "I listen to speakers with my eyes looking at a chart" community. And I have nothing against that, because the end-result is rather enjoyable regardless.
@orfeo_monteverdi+1 on the Stenheim Alumine 2 standmount. Wonderful speaker with purity, speed and naturalness. Easy to set up, drive and unusually sensitive for a standmount as well.
I also see Wilson Benesch shout outs here. I've enjoyed their stand mount as well, though not in my own system.
I would also like to hear some Viking Acoustics standmounts (Berlin Evo), Trenner Friedl Ra, and the Wilson Tune Tots are nice, though these may not be current SOTA. Much depends on amps and cable, room, and preferences, of course.
