Advice on Sterling LS3/6
Buy them. No brainer at that price, given your goals / budget. Gig Harbor Audio will make nice stands for you that will further upgrade them. I am very familiar with the Hughes designed Graham LS8/1, which many BBC connoisseurs feel is the pinna...
Best upgrade path from Borresen X3s
Borresen and their sister company products (in particular cables / accessories) can have close to an 80% margin...that’s why your dealer is giving you 100% trade credit. Borresen / Raidho are infamous for this. You seem like somebody who likes to ...
Ebay selling my missing amplifier
This is not necessarily fraud. Cargo Largo specializes in re-selling lost shipments. Their whole business model is buying lost UPS / Fedex / etc packages at auction for pennies on the dollar and re-selling those items. I suspect that they are obl...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
@drubin I don’t think you can run two Roon cores on the same network, without confusing your endpoint (and I’m not aware of being able to disable the Roon core in the Grimm) If memory serves, the Part Time Audiophile review of the Grimm mentioned...
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend
Thank you, and to clarify I agree there is no absolute best, just a personal “best” that varies from person to person and system to system. What you say about the character of Playback and Weiss makes sense.
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend
How does the Weiss Helios compare to the Playback Designs MPD-8? On the forum with "best" in the name, I saw that one dealer of both brands preferred the Playback (even just the MPD-6 with USB-X4) for being more dynamic and "analog", and harmonica...
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
Check out Gig Harbor Audio just outside Seattle… Under 10k, they carry Graham, Audio Note, Devore and Roger’s in the non fatiguing category… I’m partial to the Graham LS8/1 myself. Harbeths are nice but I feel the Grahams are rather more special
Nagra streamer in Munich 2024
Will be interested to learn more about what it is. Is it “only” a streamer? Or is it also a clock regenerator / buffer / D to D converter, a la its cousin, the Playback Designs streamer. At the price and based on current description, I’m guessing ...
DCS Bartok APEX or LINA and master clock
@jc51373  You seem like a delight  enjoy whatever it is you use — apparently its Totaldac  Not bad, if you haven’t heard better
What the Best Dac have you heard or owned. How could you tell it was that good.
Calvin, did you hear the full Infigo setup at Axpona? I had a listen. What did you think?
What the Best Dac have you heard or owned. How could you tell it was that good.
OP - understood, apologies if I came off as harsh. I believe in full disclosure and that those with a professional interest can and should comment but should always disclose their industry interests.  On your question, best I’ve owned is the Nagr...

OP, you work for Infigo Audio. Bit disingenuous (but par for the course here I suppose) for you to ask your question and then answer with the brand you work for.
Playback Designs MPD6 or Bricasti M21?
To the OP - it's not difficult to home demo these (somewhat harder for the Playback)...why not do that? In typical Audiogon fashion, it seems that half these responses are from folks that don't have direct experience, and the other half is from fo...
Floorstanding speaker experiences/recommendations in the $12-25k range
@soix fyi - Verity Audio has ceased operations, that’s why the pair is priced as it is
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
One technical point on the Plink / nagra link between the Playback streamer and the Nagra DAC. It’s not 100% compatible out of the box, a tweak needs to be implemented. Just saying this to manage expectations and to correct the record (if you read...
