It's always interesting hearing members choices and opinions of equipment and set-ups on here. So many times, I have never even heard of equipment that is mentioned, only to find out that this person in living in another county from mine. I thought it would be interesting to see where we all live
Houston, Delaware living in a Futuro house since 1977 and this is where I will stay till the day I die.I have had many sound systems and home theater for watching opera.I finally settled for Magnepan speakers driven by 833-A triodes (It takes these quart-size tubes to drive Magnepans) and after hearing this combination I lost all interest - except as a spectator - in owning any other system. I design and build my own amps and preamps which I like better than the limited choices of some very good equipment I could buy even if I could afford it.
Petaluma, CA (Sonoma County) last 25 years; grew up in Tampa, lived in Boulder, Austin & San Diego. Good qualities to be found in all places, some just require looking a bit harder!
Tuckasegee, North Carolina, in the western N.C. Mountains between Cashiers and Waynesville..from South Carolina and moved here two years ago...buying and selling the stuff since 1965 and getting ready to buy my “final” gear, turning 70 in March and time is flying, hearing is leaving and dealers are too far away to audition as we did in the good old days...drove eight hours to buy my McIntosh (needed the C52 with equalizer), will soon finish up with new speakers. My first rig was was a Fisher 500C with KLH17s .Wish I still had that 500C....oh well, now closer to my Clemson Tigers.

Your quote of ..(What does it matter? You should be able to pull my profile up and see...wtf?)
90 % ? of folks on here leave "Profile" blank. I know mine is.
With all due respect. That’s a pretty smart ass remark. Do you really think anybody is going to individually search 175 post...? ( so far). We have learned tons of pretty interesting areas of response, their recent and not so recent home/locations, and little tid bits that certainly would never have been on ANYBODY’s profile. I think it’s been an interesting thread. Sorry to inconvenience you …
@jond, yes Detroit has fallen far. There was a time, as I'm sure you know, when Detroit was a a thriving city. Much of the decline was secondary to 'white flight.' The infamous riots wreaked havoc as well. African Americans moved into the white neighborhoods and people fled to the suburbs. One of the Miracles of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles moved 2 doors down from my house.Dinah Washington and her professional football player husband bought a home on the corner. Good things are happening at last, but the heyday is long gone.
Winter home in the east valley of metro Phoenix AZ. Summer home in the beautiful White Mountains of northern AZ. It’s nice to visit snow in the winter, then return to the desert. Summers are no fun in the desert.
Originally and most of my life, in the mountains of Western Montana. From there, 12 years at beautiful Lake Powell and now, for the past 6 years, in NW Arizona, about 100 miles S of Las Vegas NV. - LOVING THE SUNSHINE. Retired, with plenty of time and good weather to enjoy my three favorite pass-times - boating, motorcycling and of course - listening to fine music.
