Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
I received my fourth E-Mat. Had plans on leaving under a ss amp that is out of service. I decided to place under my SR PowerCell with the glass too yesterday. My system definitely sounded better but I could tell the effect was varying of time. Well this morning, the E-Mat had settled in for about 14 hours and now my reviewing system sounds incredible. Talk about more natural, tighter bass, better stereo separation and improved soundstaging. Wow. I'm wondering how it would sound under a Tranquillity Base. If you have components that are $5K or more, you owe it to your self to evaluate the E-Mat and for those with a budget system, the smaller version should be the ticket. |
I was mistaken as to the use of the magnetism in the mat. It is apparently only used for attaching to or attracting the mat to the device or surface. Even the current mat is not large enough to cover my main power box which is 14" long. Should I put the mat across the main breakers? Should I put the sixth mat under my amps, isolation transformer or electrical subpanel which feeds my audio system? Thanks |

What you don't seem to get is that there is an inordinate amount of electronic noise emanating from all of the electrical components in our systems. With each of the above tweaks you mentioned, a certain amount of that electronic noise was eliminated. Therefore, with each tweak that you mentioned, the amount of electronic noise eliminated incrementally lowered the "noise floor." This is noise that exists ... but you aren't aware of it until its gone. Again amg56 ... you certainly have the right to state your opinions, but its obvious that your opinions aren't based upon experience or facts ... and are totally based upon emotion. Frank |
@uberwaltz When I designed this mat, I am acutely aware that the price might be to much for all music lovers, and budgets. I want everyone to be able to have this technology. Very very shortly I will release the next, and only size to the Omega. The size will be 1/10, the power will be 1/10, and the price will be 1/10th of the Omega. This size will have a couple of unique applications that the big mat cannot due to size. The important feature to me is allow anyone to get a healthy taste of what the big mat will do at a ridiculous inexpensive price with the same 30 day guarantee. |
Jetter Your words make perfect sense and personally I find $600 to spend on a "tweak" with no knowledge of its true nature and operation a little hard to swallow. However I would never disrespect said product and product purveyor on those grounds alone. With that being said I have purchased other tweaks on general feedback from this forum and not had a bad experience so far. Still unsure if I can mentally accept multiple $600 purchases on a tweak yet. Just to put into perspective in my minds eye, my "main" CD player cost me $8 postage courtesy of Geoff Kait! But am I going to,or indeed should others ,cry foul for that reason alone? I truly do not think so. That was my point and just my thoughts. |
uberwaltz, I did figure it out, but only after your previous response. There are people here who have purchased the mat of whom I enjoy their discourse on audio so I do not want to speak at all negatively. In these threads there has been one fact that has never been clearly spelled out, and here it is. Many are by nature tweakers, which is great and great fun to them. Others, like myself, are not dedicated tweakers and as such the price exceeds our comfort zone on what we would pay for a mat in particular or perhaps any tweak in general. Perhaps just two sides of the same coin. |
@amg56- I just don’t know why you even bother. You obviously have no interest in the subject here or this thread but yet it’s like you seek it out to just be antagonistic. Surely there must be a thread that involves something you enjoy or have interest in as this one here doesn’t seem to be for you. You’ve shared some personal issues on this forum before so I’m shocked that you continually spend the time and energy that you do on subjects like this where it seems you get easily offended by what others say. Again, I just don’t think this is for you. There’s too much around here that you could enjoy and participate in rather than get worked up over silly stuff and what people say. At the end of the day it’s just a fun hobby, or at least it should be, and really hope you can seek out the good things here in the forum and find subjects that are in your circle of interest. |
As far as similar products, I had 6 Bybee iQSEs in my system previously. Although they did provide some sonic benefit, it was minor compared to what the the Omega mats are doing. The Omega mat is obviously more expensive than the iQSE. However, if I was forced to choose between 5 iQSEs and one Omega (same price), I would definitely take the one Omega. |
@ toeapaudio It would be good to have the designers view on what led him to the
design of the mat and what he thinks it is doing. I presume it’s similar
to other products by Bybee, SR and Akiko which work by absorbing RFI
and EMF. I wonder how these mats can be selective and not also absorb
some of the musical details? My experience with Bybee is hit and miss I can not share the chemistry. It is similar to in premise to the above mentioned devices, and others, but only in concept of use that's it. The magnet has absolutely nothing to do with the sonic properties, it was chosen for versatility of placement. My #1 goal with the design was to offer a level of performance never offered before regardless of price. For those who do not understand why I do not want to go into detail on the nitty gritty of the technology, I will spell it out COPY CATS, hence the 30 day return guarantee. |
toetapaudio It would be good to have the designers view on what led him to the design of the mat and what he thinks it is doing. I presume it’s similar to other products by Bybee, SR and Akiko which work by absorbing RFI and EMF. >>>>>Huh? First of all magnets don’t absorb, attract or shield RFI or EMI. Nor can magnets bend or attract or absorb light. Second, even if it did there are much less expensive ways to absorb or shield RFI/EMI, for example draping a Carbon Fiber cloth over the component. Third, even if magnetic material shielded or absorbed RFI it would have to be wrapped completely around the component. What the mat might do, being magnetic, is absorb magnetic fields, which could be done cheaply with mu metal. |
@toetapaudio Who did I insult? I was particular to offer it "In my humble opinion" and that we are all entitled to an opinion. If anything, your post is divisive by placing people into one nice camp and the other a vehemently opposed camp, which they are not necessarily. Maybe you can explain what I cannot see? I, and others are entitled to ask questions of a product which has no information available, and I cannot find anything on the web about. If "posters (or is that postees?)" are repeatedly claiming that the latest tweak is the best, and the resultant effect on that particular system is better than the previous best, then the question becomes "so what is the net effect of all these advertised tweaks?". A black sound floor that was blacker than the previous black? In addition, these "tweaks" are not inexpensive, at least to my meagre budget. |
You said it toetapaudio. Which is why I label number 2 posters as trolls, miscreants and people I would not want to associate with. I would like to know more about the Omega E mat too. I surmise that it has a purely electrical function, working on RFI, EMF using magnetic properties. But that's about all I can tell. If it really works wonders for music, I'm a buyer. For $600 each, I hope that it surpasses the SR blue fuse and is as sound enhancing as Stillpoints, Hallographs and SR HFT system as tweaks. |
It's interesting how feedback falls into two groups: 1. Tries it and likes it 2. Violently opposed to it, has to insult anyone who says they can notice a difference, does not try it. It would be good to have the designers view on what led him to the design of the mat and what he thinks it is doing. I presume it’s similar to other products by Bybee, SR and Akiko which work by absorbing RFI and EMF. I wonder how these mats can be selective and not also absorb some of the musical details? My experience with Bybee is hit and miss, it seems not to be good in some places and better in others. Akiko make some just for mains and consumer units, which look interesting and I suspect is the right area for these “absorption” products. |
Someone did an extensive review on 1/29/2005. https://www.audioasylum.com/reviews/Accessory/Rain-Tinge/Resolution-Enhancement-for-CD-and-DVD-playb... However, noting the music that the reviewer liked, I find the review highly suspect. "favorites that Raintinge have a huge impact on and make them listenable to me (made my long day special)... 1. Hayley Westenra, "Pure"... - this is a very beautiful voice. The voice and hipnotic nasal resonance just instantly brightens my day...even at some hateful hours like 4 in the morning. You haven't lived until you experience this voice when it is accurate. 2. a collection of Sarah Brightman... - quite the same as Ms. Westenra and much more trained to sing more different notes and musical style. 3. Norah Jones, SACD... -with all the hype about extremely high resolution for a more accurate sound - it's just the same problem as all the CDs and other "optical" disks and just the same improvements when using the color system. 4. Diane Krall, SACD... -unusually sexy voice...it must be her amazing control of her nasal resonance...would she have a sexy voice if she snorts through her nasal like a pig? I told you before nasal resonance dominates female voice. 5. a collection of Jennifer Warnes... - she has the most delicate feminine nasal resonance. If she sounds like a man talking, you have a bad stereo. My favorite to torture test stereo for understanding accuracy. 5. the Innocence Mission, "befriended"... -(I bought 2 LPs!) if you 're into shy childhood story and geeky poetry like Morrissey and Simon & Garfunkle, this is the best with a beautiful voice that is as complex to play as Jennifer Warnes. 6 a collection of the Corrs, DVD... -It's almost like super models have a talent to sing. It is heart-warming when the color system made each sister look so pretty and similar in their sisterly kind of way (tough choice if I have to chose one of them). 7. Soda Club, "anthem alert", CD and DVD... - don't look at this DVD if you don't normally look at super models. Their voices are beautiful in their own way. It's what I usually hear everyday talking to girls. 8. Bond, DVD... - visually and sonically when using the color system, it is so good it hurts. No RainTinge for me unless someone reviews it using better recordings/performances. |
@almarg et al These warnings pertaining to pacemakers, hearing aids and metal implants are applied to induction stove tops and I have seen some microwave ovens with similar warnings. Items sold as medically directed alternate therapies that use magnets are a focus of our Medical Association who say these deserve appropriate warnings. With regard to the OP subject, IMHO, I cannot fathom the logic of laying down USD$600 (AUD800) on a mat that has no information forthcoming, no facts, figures, pictures, just the usual enthusiasts gushing about a blacker sound floor; having gushed about the same results from mega-buck fuses, wall plugs, Graphene treated coagulant fluid and so on, such that the black sound floor could not get blacker or the change be any more audibly discernible unless measured with a meter. Not a peep about factual figures about system benefits, just an empirical love in. I looked on the web and found naught. There is nothing prejudicial about my comments, as these are my own observations, my opinion, as worthy as anyone else's. |
I have a real problem. I was listing to some music on my main system this evening and for the last week and have really enjoyed the Mat’s effects on the music. Then I took the Mat from my office dac and put it on the inside of my electric breaker panel door. The problem is that I will now to buy another Mat 😏. I had no real expectations about getting any kind of “improvements”. However, there seems to be an accumulative effect with the Mat on the CD player and the one just placed on the breaker panel. The bass notes are even more articulate and thus easier to follow. Vocals are fuller and sound even more natural. The overall detail in the music, brought about by the previous TC treatments and the existing Mat, has now grown to be more life size. The instruments are even easier to locate and follow in that larger sound field. Notes resonate more naturally than before. Pianos and percussion are incredible. The emotion and power of the music is also better communicated. This is fun. rc |
@almarg Your point is an interesting one. Here is another: Spiders and electrical fields...amazing stuff... https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(18)30693-6 |
How in the world can anybody just make a statement like " I will never spend $600 on a mat" and then expect to be taken seriously when the thread is about said mats? All you can state is you will not be trying it and that is it, you cannot even begin to criticize its efficiency or value to your system if you have such a negative dogmatic attitude right out of the gate. Of course everybody is entitled to their own opinion but all that opinion will ever be is a un informed and prejudicial one. Just my thoughts...... |
Al ... Thanks for the input regarding the magnets. I appreciate your concern. I have a doctor's appt. this next week to adjust the pacemaker. I'll discuss it with him and see what he says and report back here on the results. stereo5 sez ...
No problem. You're forgiven. You may want to try an E Mat or two using the guarantee. You may be pleasantly surprised. Frank |
@grannyring.......... I said in a forum post there were 8 posts of a mat for sale in the for sale ads. I never tried to shut down a forum thread on it and I never complained to Audiogon. Please get the facts right. I am not going to get into a pissing match over this with you. Let’s agree to disagree. @oregonpapa ................. How rude of me to respond to a thread without being asked, I didn’t realize the rules were changed. |
I have a sincere point I’d like to present to Frank (Oregonpapa) for his consideration. Frank had mentioned in a recent post that he recently had a pacemaker installed. It so happens that today I set up an unconventionally designed Dyson fan in my wife’s study. Its manual states as follows: WARNINGThe magnet in the very small remote control that is cautioned about is intended to hold the control on the top of the fan when it is not being used, and it is weak enough to exert no force that I can detect if it is more than 1/2 inch from a ferrous surface. Might this mat result in a similar or even more significant concern in Frank’s case? Regards, -- Al |

Tim is being very tight-lipped on the Omega E Mats. Its not TC, according to Tim. These things (mats) seem to have a life of their own. I’m beginning to think that Tim Mrock is divinely inspired. No Geoff, its not crack. However, if you recall, there was one naysayer in the TC thread that claimed he applied TC to his sphincter. I continually asked him what benefits he found from pasting his sphincter with TC, but never received an answer. I could be wrong, but was it "slaw?" :-) Frank |
Ha! I wish I did! I don’t understand many things I enjoy from cell phones to accupuncture😁 Nevertheless I use and enjoy all kinds of technology I don’t fully understand. I have yet to try this product so have given no review or opinion. How could I? My mind remains open based on the many things in life I enjoy but don’t understand. My beautiful wife for another! |
hifiman5 ... There won’t be any answers coming your way anytime soon. I don’t think it would be prudent for Tim Mrock to reveal his "technology" in a public forum. You might try sending Tim a PM and ask him how to duplicate his efforts though. He’s a friendly guy ... so what the hey, give it a shot. *lol* You can contact Tim here: https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis91864-perfect-path-technologies-omega-e-mat-signal-enhancer-twe... Good luck ... Frank |
^^ Yes, you are entitled to your opinion ... but I don’t recall anyone asking you for it. Then why are you participating in the thread? Me too, but this isn’t one of those products. Read Tim Mrock’s feedback. And how can you be trusted when you post such negative trash about a product you admittedly haven’t heard or seen? https://www.audiogon.com/users/perfectpathtech
If you haven’t seen or heard the product, then what are you basing your opinion on ... other than BS? If you come into a thread spewing BS, then other members have the right to express their opinions about your BS opinions as well, no? You may consider that difference of opinion "lambasting" you, but what it really is, is calling you out for spewing BS. Have a nice day, Junior. Frank |

@grannyring...……………………………. I would never in my life pay 600.00 for a mat to put under a piece of gear. I wouldn’t even consider it. What I stated is my opinion which is just as good as yours. I haven’t heard or seen the mat and never will but that’s my opinion, like it or not. Trust me, I have been "ripped off" many times on tweaks that don’t do as advertised.. You also have no right to lambast me for my statement, especially since I have never done it to you. This is a community forum and everyone is entitled to his or her opinion weather you or anyone else agrees with it or not. |

There's a delicate balance when bloggers and writers do their reviews. It's a unique industry and there are definitely relationships to be managed. They generally don't like "shootout" type reviews.. Also, some counter thoughts to consider: - There's some reading in between the lines to really figure out what is being said and more so, not said. If you keep telling me about a girl being really nice, maybe she's not so hot in the looks department... - Certain topics like talking about value can also give you relative comparisons. I may like something a lot at a certain price point, but it might not have the performance I'm looking for generally. - And there are times where they listen to a product and decline to review it. Especially if you hear them talk about a product in passing without a formal review. |
