Uberwaltz, I hope your post is a satire. |
uberwaltz, I did figure it out, but only after your previous response. There are people here who have purchased the mat of whom I enjoy their discourse on audio so I do not want to speak at all negatively.
In these threads there has been one fact that has never been clearly spelled out, and here it is. Many are by nature tweakers, which is great and great fun to them. Others, like myself, are not dedicated tweakers and as such the price exceeds our comfort zone on what we would pay for a mat in particular or perhaps any tweak in general.
Perhaps just two sides of the same coin.

I like ozzy's "cutting" idea, and it would be interesting if you could let us know what a cross section looks like. Does it appear to be all the same and the same material, or stratified layers of differing materials? If Tim has already answered this, sorry for the duplicate, but not up to reading the whole post at this time. |
Yea, I’ve never seen a product where you are discouraged to take a picture of it, let alone there is some taboo against cutting it open to see if its a plain old piece of magnetic backed foam rubber that the seller is claiming magic properties to or a scientific breakthrough worthy of merit. |
Geoff, somehow I am not surprised that you achieved "good repeatable results" using the degasser. Truth be told though, I and I suspect a number of us will be busy (repeat, will be busy) on the day of the double blind testing. |
Can someone who has the mat answer a couple of basic questions? When you look at the mat and hold it, what does it look and feel like is the base material? Foam rubber, cloth, other? Does it appear to work like TC, which as I understand it, the "working" end of TC is grapheme or some other material that is suspended in the paste material? Is the mat material that works or something intertwined within the mat material? Just really wondering because the picture on the ad is just a close up of the label and really hard to tell. |
Thanks for your response papa, appreciated. |
Tim, simple question, without giving away any trade secret, what makes the mat different from, for lack of a better example, a simple piece of packing material? How about throwing a little light on this in a manner that would not allow another to steal your formula? |
Yes, the blues are out, and in. Based upon David’s observations, the blue duplex pretty much makes the red an black obsolete. Thank you Ted Denney for your efforts to improve sound quality. |
I have four mats in my car, one under each floor mat. A neighbor commented that it sounded like I had an entire orchestra in my sports coupe. Wow! Did you and your neighbor take a little enhancement this A.M.? |
Hey tommy, thanks, and one of these days. Have been spending a lot of time above Lake George recently. Long drive from Quechee (near Woodstock, VT and W Lebanon, NH). |
tommy, my last post was deleted by whoever. But it was echoing your post that it can’t matter if the gear is on or off, or the four week charging time would start over every day for any gear not left on indefinitely. But before seeing this written, I had assumed it was charging from something being emitted from the gear or at least some electrical force if attached to a fuse box. You know I am skeptical, but in a really nonchalant manner, but now I am wondering that if it isn’t charging from the gear, when you say "waiting for the mats to charge up can be frustrating", I honestly wonder what the heck is charging the mat, perhaps the sun’s energy bouncing off the atmosphere or the gravitational pull emanating from the center of the earth, bombardments from gamma rays (really)? I don’t have a huge sense of curiosity, but just honestly wondering about this stuff out loud. |
Everyone seems to be debating the best place to put the mats, on top, on the bottom, on the sides. But. Perhaps tim will fabricate mats that completely enclose a unit with a zipper to undo, then put the unit in the "bag" and then re-zip same. Will need a hole to put the cables through, but can have a Velcro cover to ensure maximum sealing. Of course this will only work with units that do not emit much, if any, heat. |
Agree its a nice website. Feel kind of bad for the early adopters who paid full price before the sale was announced. Such is life. |
Mr jafreeman, I think we would all be interested in what exactly you are planning on doing if she chooses to not quit posting? |
Don't forget that Charles Emerson Winchester III also has used these in his system.
|
That would be the same Elizabeth that a lot of us have enjoyed reading her posts for years and missed her during her sabbatical. At least her mat will hold up her shopping list on the fridge.
|
What do you get when you cross a sceptic and a capitalist system? |
Just wondering how fellow Vermonter tommylion's system is sounding? Haven't seen any updates for a couple of months. George |
Hi tommylion, glad to hear your enjoying your rig. I will look forward to hearing your system when the chance arises. Having just retired, I'm getting acquainted with my new lifestyle. |
fleschler, I look forward to the future and seeing your place on "Hoarders" or "Buried Alive" or perhaps your 1,000's of albums being purchased on "Storage Wars". |
It would be greatly appreciated if you would consider this a place holder for future discussion on this topic. |
mrs_ppt, thank you for the offer. I really think it makes sense that someone with better hearing than myself, like wolf if he wants, and I wish Elizabeth, test the products and report back. If I did not hear a difference it really could not be ruled out, by myself, that it was just be because I don’t have golden ear hearing. If wolf gives it a thumbs up I will purchase some. I do hope you can also send him a small sample of the TC, but if not its fine. I venture to say that if wolf or elizabeth like it there would likely be a lot of people thinking about the product in a different light.

Hi wolf_garcia, I hope you will try it out. I am with you and Elizabeth on my thinking about these products. Maybe Tim will also send you a little sample of his TC also for you to try on one piece of equipment. |
