I’m curious about this product from Perfect Path Technologies and would like to hear from those that have experience with it. I’ve bought and used the Total Contact enhancer and like what it does for my system so I’m interested in hearing how this Omega E mat performs.
@tochsii I have never stated or implied I heard a blacker background to music using tweaks. I am quite specific in the changes in the sound, such as greater transient speed and wider soundstage using Stillpoints, superior image focusing using Skakti Hallographs, the eliminating the need for acoustic panel and basstraps using Synergistic Research HFTs in a live sounding room, greater dynamic contrasts, improved resolution. enhanced pace/rythym and fuller/clearer bass using Omega E-Mats (among other improvements they provide).
Blacker sound background is not one of the ways I describe my tweak improvements. Each of the stated tweaks bring a different attribute to improving the music experience in my system.
Some of these tweaks have logical explanations such as the HFTs reradiating the sound in the room from the surfaces they are attached to, or multiple levels and materials which eliminate vibration to and from equipment as the Stillpoints do. Or as simple as a bicycle tire sandwiched between steel plates to eliminate vibration under my VPI TNT VI (Townsend Seismic Sink) As to the unknown way some tweaks work, I don’t really care as long as they do work to substantially improve my music listening enjoyment at a reasonable cost.
Tom, I have asked the very information after the release and gush of each "Tweak". I even suggested that after the last "Tweak" lowering of the sound "black" floor, it must be several kilometres deep by now. How blacker than black is black?
Tom, do not expect any technical information otherwise you may be called a naysayer or troll. You will not get blood no matter how strongly you squeeze the stone. There is a group amongst audiophiles or just music listeners in the world that are privileged to have their systems enhanced ("Tweaked") to such a cumulative point that they now listen from black holes and sound is delivered via quantum physics and re-adjusted by small cups glued to walls to enter ears in reproduction that is better than the original sound recorded.
I have a couple questions. No judgments, not asking for opinions or judgments on my questions. I’m very new here but, I’ve seen an enormous amount of very technical electrical information, graphs & calculations. So, I’m sure there’s more than enough expertise to answer this.
1) What is the science behind TC? 2) What technical measurements are changed & how? 3) What’s the science behind the magnet mats? 4) What measurements are changed and how?
I’m a novice audiophile so, I’m learning a lot on these threads & I mean no disrespect to anyone.
I do have a couple pertinent observations.
A couple people have said magazines don’t review things negatively.
Than that’s pointless. You pay for guidance & truthful information to help inform decisions that can be at least thousands-if not 10’s of thousands of dollars. For glowing, marketing hype all you need to do read the manufacturer’s websites. For FREE.
One person said if they didn’t like a product that was given to them for review, they just wouldn’t say anything.
How would you feel if your doctor didn’t say anything about a medical treatment or implant because he didn’t want to badmouth a drug/medical company?
A couple people have said being given something doesn’t effect your judgment.
Thats absolutely not true. It may be unintentional but, it does. I’ll stick within my medical field. Several studies in the 90’s showed prescribing behavior changed in doctors given stipends by drug co’s, who were paid speakers &/or formal & informal “researchers”. That’s why anytime a doctor gives a talk now, they have to list every company that has paid them any money, employed them or given them any benefit. I think someone talking about cables or some piece of a stereo is at least as likely to be unintentionally swayed. It just human nature.
Finally, especially related to TC, I continually hear the floor drops away, every instrument can distinctly be heard, no noise... then why would you need to do anything else??
Sorry if this is too lengthy. And, I really am learning a lot & appreciate the people that are clearly the “teachers” here.
This coming Friday night begins a new season of Friday Night Lights.
For those of you who haven’t been to a high school football game since you graduated, do yourself a favor and start supporting your local team. The athleticism is pretty darned amazing. These kids are playing at a college level of 10-15 years ago. With advancements in training methods and improved nutrition, these kids are really strong, fast and powerful.
Every Friday night, you’ll find me up there in the bleachers, right on the 50 yard line enjoying the spectacle. This will mark my 25th year attending my local high school's football games.
Just an update Tim did get back to me and he will be announcing the minimees production updates shortly. I am happy and will be waiting with anticipation. Thank you Tim.
Is anybody else having difficulty getting hold of Tim at all? I realise he is a busy man and the success of these mats is likely only making that worse but I have not received replies to any messages I have sent through the audiogon system. Maybe I just need to have more patience...lol, not my strongest suit unfortunately.
^^^ Thanks Bob ... well said. Have you noticed an improvement in the bass ... like more articulate bass? How about the TV system, is the picture improved with the mat placed in the circuit breaker box??
I wish to report my further experience with the E-mats. I sent my check into Tim for mats and CE. I know have 6 mats installed: 1 in breaker box, one between my two power conditioners, one under amp, preamp, DAC, one between Network Bridge and Roon Nucleus Core computer, and one under DirectV box. I've not yet had time to add the CE to my cables and power cords.... As Frank has reported, there is clearly a 'curing' period or break in time, to permit the magical magnet fields to stabilize. I have had the mats in place for now just over 2 weeks, and each day the system became a bit more revealing, with lower noise floor, and allowing me to listen more deeply into the recording. The detail, nuance, and sonic 'meat on bones' is all more substantial....its like a quiet little change, daily, then you remember where you started from, and say, "Holy Crap, my rig sounds a lot better than ever", The changes can be subtle, but substantial, if that makes sense. I am simply listening more to the music, and less to my gear, and don't think I'll be chasing the upgrade train for a while. A very worthwhile investment, for me in my rig. I am looking forward to the improvements promised when I paste my cables and power cords with Tim's CE.... I too wish to thank both Frank for making me aware, and Tim for producing such a product, that 'finishes' my sound quality, and allows me to simply enjoy the music, as I had hoped when I started this expensive journey. Best to all, Bob P
The Synergistic Research Blue Outlet is a wonderful upgrade and only gets better over the next 10-14 days. The E Mat especially placed at thecircuit breaker box does improve the sound and pictures of all outlets in your house. I do think the best under $1000.00 system upgrade for most Audiophile’s is buying an E Matt + a Blue outlet. The amount left over will Buy a nice bottle of wine. David Pritchard
Glad you can join us on this interesting journey. Tim's products has placed our hifi systems on a higher plane no one could ever expect or experience. As an added bonus, our entire electrical system has benefited also. Most of us never had any contact with Tim or his products until Frank opened the door. I was a bit skeptical at first but I'm so glad I jumped in.
On a more pertinent note does anybody have an update on the minimees release date? I cannot say as I blame Tim from staying away from this train wreck for a while.
@davidpritchard, I just installed the SR Blue receptacle in place of the Black and, straight out of the box, I am awestruck at the level of improvement compared to the Black, Teslaplex SE, & all other receptacles I have tried and even relative to the Blue fuse. Could you please weigh in on the relative level of improvement of the E Mat compared to the Blue receptacle?
I am glad to read the Omega E Mat has improved you audio system and your Television picture. This has also been my experience. If your family watches a lot of DVD's, a Mat on top of the DVD player gave my system a further improvement to audio and video.
@grannyring- Excellent! Thank you for that and it is indeed all good. My apologies if I sounded a bit confrontational. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
Someone's been telling falsehoods and got caught? Or defaming statements?
Yes hifiman5, it's as if my custom movie settings have moved up to near vivid setting. I moved the brightness down 20%. My wife said to let it be slightly brighter than before with richer colors. That also was due to only one E-Mat on the main panel box. It covered all the main breakers which leads to two subpanels, one of which is my audio subpanel where two E-Mats reside on top of the panel. The outdoor main panel has the E-Mat within the panel door so that no one can see it and steal it.
I am fully aware that there are those who have felt that I have over hyped both the Total Contact and the Omega E Mats. Not true at all. In all of my writings here, I have understated their effectiveness. I've tried to use words that truly describe how good these things are in the area of improving SQ in audio systems and the picture quality in Video systems. Every word has been true. If I could think of more descriptive words to use, I'd use them. The fact is ... I've run out of words. (hard to believe, I know *lol*).
"
A respectful suggestion. Get off the gear train. Set up a system that sounds right to you and then get at least one mat for your service to prove to yourself that this thing is utterly amazing."
And that has been my position from the beginning when I said that I am finished buying new electronics. Its totally not necessary anymore.
Frank
PS: We are in the era of $15,000 interconnect cables and $80,000 power conditioners. $300 for a kit of Total Contact, or $600 for an Omega E Mat? A mere pittance in the whole scheme of things.
Agree with your last statement. We just speculated on different ends of this and all is good. Nothing to laugh at. Your last post was clear and better understood.
Getting back to why anyone should really care about the Omega E-Mat in the first place....
I followed this thread faithfully since it began on July 5. I kept reading the "hyperbolic" testimonials of Frank and Co. But the more I read of their "rantings" the more curious I became. Hey, I have bought some dopey tweaks in my time so I was very leary of all the "cheerleading" on this thread. But, I finally took the plunge and ordered a mat. I am on day 11 with the mat inhabiting the top half of my 200 amp service.
You know all that stuff I just said about hyperbolic, rantings and cheerleading, it was NONE of that. One mat. One. One mat has taken my system to a land far far away from where it was before. Everything is soooooo much cleaner and clearer. Unfrickin' real!!
And if that is not enough, you should see the picture on my 65" video screen. The colors and brightness...it's almost as if I set the picture to "vivid". Again, I'm only 11 days in. From the reports of those whose reporting on this crazy devise was absolutely accurate, I should realize even more improvements in the coming days!
I ordered a second mat today for the bottom half of my service so almost the entire area of the service will be covered by the two mats.
More to come...
PS A respectful suggestion. Get off the gear train. Set up a system that sounds right to you and then get at least one mat for your service to prove to yourself that this thing is utterly amazing. Thank you Tim Mrock! and thank you to the "cheerleaders".
