Looking for any association with this guy is the 1st action we should take with any new product or dealer. I really can't believe Dan was even considering it.
Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.
Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......
I would suspect that a new buyer, if there is one, will change both the name and the casework for the products to distance themselves just as grannyring suggested. Any spare parts left lying around in Colorado have surely been used up by now on the products being sold on Audiogon to drum up survival cash. |
Why would you want your name involved with such a company? It will do harm to your name and brand. No way around it. Best stay clear. Time for this company and brand to go away. The technology in the power supplies is nothing special and easy to match. Very simple stuff. It can actually be improved. Nothing here any longer worth attaching yourself to. |
I need to post for clarification of my involvement. I have never been employed by CPT, I've only been an enthusiastic customer who tried to spread the word about CPT's affordable products that really performed. I don't know the buyers Mark mentioned, I'm completely in the dark about the sale negotiations and not involved in any way, I'm only hoping I can be the new CPT "front man" meaning the phone/online contact for sales and customer service when the sale is completed. The CPT products have never been anything but stellar performers at affordable price points, and with Deep Core and other new kit coming I'm hoping I can (along with new ownership and policies) continue to offer CPT products to the audio community. |
I looked at one of the ads: https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649464728-gallo-cl2-near-new-18500-pair/ The ad says they are finished in black. So he posts a stock picture of the cherry finish. |
@audpulse I don't necessarily disagree with you at all. I can't begin to tell you how many members of Audiogon messaged me to say Mark repeatedly told them the refund check was in the mail yet they never received a thing from Mark. @tuffy72561 The CPT owner is selling off product inventory via one of his relatives. CPT is not going to be fulfilling any promises of product or refunds. That task has been assigned to the new entity who is buying the CPT assets, IP and brand. Don’t hold your breath for that to occur. Kemper (klh007) is the front man for the investor group. He should step up and speak as to the status of the new owners and their commitment to rectifying past issues. |
Mark may respond better once legal proceedings are underway. I aim to get my refund willingly, or otherwise. I have not witnessed such a shabby affair as this in my life. If Mark doesn't want to be an honest businessman and make good my refund, as his word stated, then there are repercussions. This whole issue has been documented and has been passed on to the relevant authorities. I was taught about honesty from a very young age. I was also taught about what happens otherwise. |
As usual...the date has come and gone...historically I've seen a pattern here for several years... I'm still hopeing Mark makes good on all of his promises! --- lak Tell me/us how.He has spent the money to buy a new car and living large. There is no money and no refund. Look at his past and show me any person that has received a refund from Mark. Today all people owed money from the CPT adventure of Mark should kiss it goodbye and hit him legally where it hurts. He should be taken out of society. |
To be fair, the three new items of the CPT post are: (a) the front company (which is a real outfit); a new contact email address (though I personally don’t know if it works); and Kemper’s involvement. I would hope Kemper has the integrity to move forward with communications on behalf of the undisclosed group of investors so folks here know what is going on. |
-------"Note this “updating” post is more of the same as before. To wit: 1. A promise of a new ownership group; 2. The alleged “close” is date uncertain (usually term sheets specify a “close no later than date X” rather than “close as early as date Y”); and 3. More apologies. It is a familiar, broken record------ celander" You are very correct my friend. This is another coy to buy time.Mark as long as you keep on fooling yourself about a buyer that is secret, you will never amount to a humanoid. Are you selling a sensitive nuclear company that you keep on coming to this forum to tell us about a never ending buyer. CPT is not worth that much that we have not been told the name of the buyer. The only legitimate buyer you ever had was Dan and I will repeat it that your greed drove the buying to the ground.Who in this world is going to touch anything you have touched. You are not in the class of Class A designers. Nobody and I sincerely mean nobody is going to be breaking his/her neck to acquire your company. CPT has a very big debt. Tell us the truth and disappear.Another thing is this: who in his right mind is going to give you a job ?The only way you can prove me wrong is to come out in the public and tell us the name of the buyer(s). Only then will I take back all that I have written and have not written about you. I cannot understand how you sleep peacefully at night. You are definitely a miserable humanoid.Who is this Kemper Holt you keep on mentioning.Maybe he could come out and clear the air for all. Folks I do not believe that there is a buyer. This is my take. |
Dear Audiogon Community Updating here… Core Power Tech LLC will Close it’s deal with the buyers as early as Monday. We had some work that we needed to do on our side and that work has been completed – therefore we will now Close. I’m been given the OK to post this message from the Buyers – “Core Power Tech will be managed by RF Circuits of Newbury Park CA for a group of investors who chose to remain anonymous at this time”… I can personally add that I have known these folks for a long time and I am really pleased and excited. Kemper Holt will be the man out in front (given a final agreement re remuneration) and I believe strongly that he will do a great job. The new group of owners is dedicated and committed to building the Core Power Brand. Refunds and promised shipments will be first up. Nothing will stand in the way of processing these important items. Lynn and I are no longer involved other than contributing product ideas. I have a new job outside of this industry, but I do plan on opening a review site for audio this year with a decidedly cool and unique approach. If you are interested on hearing more about this feel free to e-mail me o2audio@live.com. More when appropriate. Much more to add – but for now I wish to simply apologize once again. Best Wishes To All Mark and Lynn |
Well, folks should maintain accurate records and correspondence from CPT about their transactions. That includes taking screenshots of relevant CPT posts from this thread and any related CPT threads (recall there is one in the Misc. Audio directory). Do so before those posts become mysteriously removed. I also posted the Colorado State Attorney General’s website info on this thread. |

------"Wish you well with your health and proceedings! elixir" Some will say, have a heart for Mark.Wellness will never come to a person who has it in its DNA to keep on ripping people off. Do you know the health of those who he has ripped off by his actions ?CPT is not the first dance for Mark. I will repeat it again, it is in his DNA. He can never change. He has been given many chances to make good of himself as a human being but he refused. It is always about himself and his health and sometimes dragging the wife to his gutter lifestyle. You rip what you sow. Mark will never change. Nobody can change DNA.Just look at what he did to @amg56. He has health issue too.Let us hope there is actually a buyer for CPT because I personally do not believe there is one. Dan will have been the perfect one but I can bet anyone on this forum that his greed was one of the things that made Dan to say adios to the whole deal.Anybody that knows 50% of Mark's business behavior will not sit on the same table with him. He is poison and nobody in his/her right mind will take poison. When challenged on this forum and his nasty business behavior, he says he will sue. What a stupid gut!!!Mark go ahead and carry it with me. You know my number and if it escapes your shallow memory, I will display it in public at your request. You owe me CPT300 and my cable with amphenol connector to be changed to your product.I am waiting Mark and dead serious about it. |
"And, I believe in Karma. B" Believe in it because I do.Mark will definitely get the worst of what he has done to people that trusted in him.I am a victim too. I paid for CPT300 and he has a Mr. Johnson selling the same item on Audiogon but he cannot spare one to send to me. I am not begging for it because I paid for it. The end is always miserable for miserable people like Mark.I have just started gathering about his exploits in Africa. If I know what I know now, I will not touch anything that he is involved in. He is stone cold but he wants pity from the people of this forum.Karma will definitely catch up with him. |
@stereo5 , I concur completely. Had I known Mark had a 'track record', I would have been a bit more circumspect. The sad thing is that he mimics a 'brother in law' of mine. (Quotes are because we aren't married). In the end, I am responsible for $60K in liens. These things happen. And, I believe in Karma. B |
@gdnrbob>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I understand that and I hope everyone either gets their refunds or merchandise. As soon as I realized that Schifter was the go to person, it made me realize it wouldn’t turn out well. He has a very long History and not in a good way. It’s a shame people like that keep going into new business ventures. The Bankruptcy courts for businesses are way too lenient IMHO. |
I have maintained that Deep Core will be a success if it can get to market asap as a reliable product in the form as it was designed to be. It will be unique in the market and would be a success. It is a shame that CPT did not have the capital backing to see the DC through to the end. Instead, relying on customer deposits to keep the company (Shifters) alive. Running the company with solid and good company practice would have helped, but this is an obvious statement... There are a number of customers who are owed refunds or product. It would be interesting to know how many. Most frustratingly is the lack of communication with Mark. He says he will contact everyone, and just does not follow through. You email him with a question, and there is no answer. This is his big failure. |
@stereo5 Amg isn't the only one waiting. Though $1K isn't chump change, it isn't the end of the world. Those of us who ordered did so knowing that Core Power made some very impressive equipment in the past and there was no reason to believe it shouldn't have continued. That we got caught short is one of the hazards of buying into a small independent company. Hopefully, the new owners will make good on all of Mark's previous commitments. B |
@amg56...................................... I commend you sir, you are one of the most patient audiophiles ever. I can’t believe how many excuses Schifter has given regarding refunds. If I had been one of the many unlucky audiophiles that bought from him, I would have either gone berserk, or gone to a mental hospital by now. I hope you not only get all your money back, but also your health. Take care. Bob |
@amg56 Here are some useful links for you to consider, in view of your out-of-US residency status: https://coag.gov/file-complaint https://coag.gov/node/20335 |
