@thyname the people who consider power cords a waste should be very happy that they don’t / can’t hear/ make any differences. Congratulations; they have reached the end of their audio journey. They can spend their money on other fun things like records or the house mortgage or a car or their kids’ college. But when the rubber hits the road, those people aren’t there at my system, in my house, and have no vested interest in my system, other than to tell me what I’m doing is a waste of time and money. And why do they care so much what others do with their money? If anyone doubts or wants to know if a cable makes a difference, then they should buy one and return it if it doesn’t. However, the naysayers have a MASSIVE problem with this and REEEEE anytime anyone brings up using their own ears and forming their own experience. "Blind believe what I tell you, don’t trust yourself, only I am with the full knowledge." Honestly, this whole argument reminds of the "DACs are DACs, Amps are Amps" argument. I mean, for those people making that argument....look at where you are. Look at the site you're on and who it appeals to. Look at the site you're on and then look at the pricing and inventory offered. The irony is hilarious. |
🤘🤘🤘🤟🤟 I’m waiting in my cold cell when the bell begins to chime Reflecting on my past life and it doesn’t have much time ’Cause at 5 o’clock, they take me to the Gallows Pole The sands of time for me are running low, yeah! When the priest comes to read me the last rites I take a look through the bars at the last sights Of a world that has gone very wrong for me Can it be that there’s some sort of error Hard to stop the surmounting terror Is it really the end, not some crazy dream? Somebody please tell me that I’m dreaming It’s not easy to stop from screaming The words escape me when I try to speak Tears flow, but why am I crying After all I’m not afraid of dying Don’t I believe that there never is an end As the guards march me out to the courtyard Somebody cries from a cell "God be with you" If there’s a God then why has he let me go? As I walk all my life drifts before me And though the end is near I’m not sorry Catch my soul, it’s willing to fly away Mark my words, believe my soul lives on Don’t worry now that I have gone I’ve gone beyond to seek the truth When you know that your time is close at hand Maybe then you’ll begin to understand Life down here is just a strange illusion Yeah, hallowed be thy name Yeah, hallowed by thy name Yeah |
Not good enough for me. They're functional and that's about it. Any after market power cable I've switched to has been better than the stock. If people like their stock, that's great; they're the ones listening to their system --- I'm not. Same with people who make fun of any power upgrades I make --- my system, my ears, my money. Not theirs. |

kozka, "..meantime I got side tracked to an eye opening threads..."You are learning fast. There is a wealth of knowledge about many things here. Not so long ago, there were a few posts about plumbing on space station, of was it Space Shuttle, and materials used. Where else will you see that seriously posted? |

geoffkait, "Talk to the hand, numbnutz." A cryo-lubricant? 🧴 Perfect for cryoing and improving the flow of signal even in stock cables. https://crcorp.com/product/numb-nutz-dozen/ |
Ah, the Yugo.I bought one for my friend some years ago. It was already decades old, but even air conditioning worked well. You do not even need too many tools to fix it youself. Between brand new Mitsubishi Mirage and three decades old Yugo, I would pick Yugo. It is bare bones in a good way. Sort of like Lotus Elise with more room. You always feel you are faster than you really are. Ok, handling might have not been Lotus style, but still. |

No, I look at test reports for televisions. Many of them exist. They look at things like color accuracy, black level, whole screen and area dynamic range, motion compensation, screen ambient light rejection, etc. These are all things that are very hard to determine at your local Best Buy. That narrows it down to a couple models or, even fewer. Considering TVs at shops are never setup properly it’s almost meaningless to review them there. That is not what you do do you? Is your TV still on cartoon mode of the box? How sad for you. |
This argument is more akin to the kid who buys a $7,500 car, spends $12,500 souping it up such that it will blow the doors off pretty much anything off the lot under $125k in a straight line, but the person who spent $120k on their car still insists it is faster and brings up all kinds of stuff about aerodynamics, carbon fibre construction, valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, computer optimized air induction, and a whole host of other technical advantages .... Everything but test results to show their car is faster. |
Why all this criticism about cables? I don't get it. You can buy a Yugo or a Lamborghini, does anyone criticize the Lamborghini driver because he doesn't need to spend that much money to get from point A to point B? What about your home? If you live in a modest home in the suburbs is that overkill because you could live in a tent? It's a marketplace. People are free to spend their money they way they like. You wouldn't limit that right would you? Seems to be more an issue of sour grapes than anything else. BTW, I have modestly priced cables in my system. |
heaudio123 geoffkait, I think you are confusing blind with deaf. Similar words, different meaning. >>>>If you’re pretending to be a dick you’re doing an excellent job. |
Be careful. Even instruction manual for Synergistic Research cable risers starts with a serious safety warning. I am not hot dogging ya. 👀 https://www.synergisticresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/UEFCableRiserPage2.pdf |
